Chapter 345 Thank You

Soon, Athena came home.

It was almost bedtime for the kids.

Mia was throwing a tantrum because she didn't want Jaxson or Alice to tell her a bedtime story.

Seeing Athena come back,

Mia immediately ran toward her.

Athena picked her up. "Why are you throwing a tantrum again?"

Mia had always been quite upset in the past few days

"I only wanted to wait for you to come back and tell me a bedtime story," Mia muttered aggrievedly.

Athena kissed her cheek.

She looked at Jaxson and Alice. "You may go to rest."

"Okay."

The two agreed and left.

Athena carried Mia upstairs.

Aiden was already reading in bed.

Seeing Athena, he looked up and said, "Is the dinner party over?"

"No. There was a bit of an accident, so I secretly sneaked back."

Athena put Mia back on the bed.

Then, she went over and kissed Aiden on the forehead.

Aiden seemed expressionless, but he swayed his feet. Apparently, he was quite happy.

"Is this a book about physics?" Athena looked at the cover.

"Yeah." Aiden nodded. "It's very interesting."

Athena felt quite proud of Aiden.

"He's such a smart boy!" She thought.

"Mommy, I'm the same age as my brother. He can read many books, but I..." Sitting on the side of the bed, Mia looked at Aiden enviously. Mia felt very helpless that she wasn't as smart as her brother.

She also wanted to learn to read, but every time she read a book that didn't have any pictures, she would start to yawn.

"You are so good at painting, and your understanding of colors is far better than mine." Aiden sounded like a father praising his child. "Really?" Mia's eyes lit up.

"Um."

Aiden also wanted to say that Mia was lively and cute, and the others always liked her a lot wherever she went.

Which was to say, she was more welcome than him.

Aiden always felt that this world was incredibly noisy.

He couldn't wait to keep a distance from everyone who wasn't related to him.

"Alright. Both of you are geniuses," Athena said with a smile.

No matter how irritated and stressed she was because of what had happened at the dinner party,

at this moment,

when she was with her loved ones,

all of her anxiety and stress disappeared in an instant.

The yellow light warmly lit up the children's room.

Aiden leaned on the cushion while reading. Mia was drowsy, so Athena told her a bedtime story of a knight rescuing a princess.

When the knight in her story had just reached the nest of the evil dragon, Mia fell asleep soundly.

Athena carefully covered her with the quilt.

Then, she turned to look at Aiden, who closed the book, put it on the bedside table, and lay down.

Athena smiled and walked over.

She kissed his forehead again.

"Mom, good night," Aiden said.

Athena looked at him.

Aiden and Mia, as well as herself, had never lacked servants to take care of them.

But...

Her children still shared a lot of her burdens.

"Aiden," Athena said softly.

"Huh?" Aiden looked at her, a little puzzled.

In the past, after he said good night, Athena would say the same and leave.

"I'm so lucky to have a kid like you," Athena said with a sincere and gentle tone, "Thank you."

Aiden had never been good at dealing with such situations.

He turned aside to look away. "Got it. Good night."

Athena chuckled. "Well, good night, baby."

Aiden closed his eyes tightly.

Athena turned off the lights and left the children's room.

After the door was closed,

Aiden slowly opened his eyes.

He blinked and pondered for a moment, thinking,

"Mommy must have encountered something unpleasant."
