Candice stood there for a while before nodding. “Understood.”

She spoke emotionlessly, her lips pale. Her gaze at Alex gradually grew calm.

Candice smiled and said dryly, “I’m sorry. I was overthinking.”

Alex looked at his phone without caring too much.

After a moment, he looked at her and asked, “Do you need me to take you back?”

He originally had other plans at night, but they had no choice but to return to the hotel for some rest now that

Candice knew Alex’s temper. If he really wanted to take her back, he wouldn’t have asked.

She waved her injured hand and said, “It’s fine. I’ll call a cab.”

Candice looked at his expression. After standing there for a while, she left.

She was not feeling very well, so she was walking away slowly. After making a turn, there was a bus stop, and

“I am her man! Your mother owes me 10,000. You will pay me back on her behalf!”

Candice was so angry that her hand that was holding the phone was shaking. Her voice was extremely cold as she said, “Get her to pick up the phone.”

Even if she didn’t bear much of the responsibility of being a mother, Candice could still remember her figure when she cooked in the kitchen every time she came home from school when she was still little.
