Colin's tone sounded calm, but in fact, he didn't feel like that.

Ethan stretched out his hand, patted Colin's arm, and said, "Don't worry. Faye isn't an unreasonable person."

Colin took off the cigarette from the corner of his mouth to ash it. Then, he said absently, "Um."

After coming out of the police station, Colin asked Robert to drive his car back to the office which he got into Ethan's car. Ethan started the engine and glanced sideways at Colin. He laughed lightly and asked, "Is there anything bothering you?" Colin stretched his long legs slightly and said, "Go to Hugh's place."

Ethan asked, "Have you made up your mind?"

Colin closed his eyes and answered, "Cut the Gordian knot."

Ethan said while he was turning the steering wheel, "They say I'm the ruthless one. They probably haven't seen you yet."

Colin closed his eyes and smirked his lips. He didn't continue Ethan's topic and asked something else, "How's thing going between Ms. Rowan and you?"

Ethan pretended to be confused and asked, "What do you mean by that?"

Colin opened his eyes and asked, "It didn't go well?"

Ethan turned his head to look at Colin and said, "Are you trying to pick a fight?"

Colin laughed mockingly and teased harder, "Abbot finally get Rebecca and he managed to keep her with him in the house for a week. They probably will get their marriage certificate when they leave the house."

Ethan looked gloomy. He turned his head around and continued to drive, "She left."

Colin retracted the smile on his face and looked confused, "Huh?"

Ethan explained, "She has left. She left on the next day after the dinner."

Colin raised his eyebrows lightly and said, "It doesn't seem like you. How would you let someone go so easily?"

Ethan replied in a self-deprecating manner, "I wasn't being informed at all."

Colin held back his smile and said, "Do you still able to get hold of her?"

Ethan answered, "Yes."

After Ethan finished speaking, Colin was about to say, "It's fine if you two are still in touch. As long as she doesn't put you on the blacklist, it proves that there is still hope." Before he could have said that, Ethan continued, "But it has to go through my old man. She isn't answering my calls nor returning my texts."

Colin didn't know what to say.

When Ethan noticed that Colin was quiet, he added, "When you called me just now, I was about to buy a plane ticket to go to her hometown."

Colin laughed out loud and said, "You didn't try hard enough when she was here. What's the point of you being so diligent now?"

Ethan wasn't like Abbot. After he was cleared about his thought, he wouldn't hide them. He replied honestly, "That would make me look stupid."

Colin teased, "It's rare that you could recognize the truth and get it right."

While they were talking, their car arrived at Hugh's villa.

The area of Hugh's place in Cocanel was considered reasonably well.

The villa was in a strategic location. It was very close to the city center and that area would be expensive.

Hugh might have lost his influence and power now. But with the money that he had made in the past few years, it would be sufficient for him to live for another three lifetimes as long as he didn't squander it. Ethan parked his car in front of the Langfords' house. He turned his head to look at Colin and asked, "Do you need me to come with you?"

Colin answered with a light smile, "No need."

After that, Colin pushed the door and got out of the car.

After seeing Colin enter the villa, Ethan took out his mobile phone and made a call.

When the call was connected, Ethan said in a cold voice, "Run a check on Hugh."

The other party said, "Okay, Mr. Bond."

Ethan continued, "Give me the results within an hour."

The other party replied, "Understood."

The subordinates who were trained by Ethan were good in that sense. Their work efficiency was high and they spoke less. After Ethan hung up the phone, he thought for a while and sent a text to Andy saying, "I want Lance alive. Keep an eye on him."

On the other side, Colin walked into the Langfords' villa. As soon as he entered the courtyard, Hugh approached and greeted him. Hugh acted as always, with a friendly smile on his face but sly thoughts on the inside, "Mr. Farrell, what makes you here?"

Colin pursed his lips into a faint smile and said, "I was somewhere around and thought of visiting you."

Hugh looked resigned. He sighed and asked. "You are here because of the issues in the office. Aren't you?"

Colin teased, "Do you know any inside story, Hugh?"

Colin asked that question too bluntly which made Hugh stunned. Then, Hugh calmed himself down and replied with a smile, "How am I supposed to know the inside story? I'm just a nobody in the office." After that, he made a "please" gesture to Colin and said, "Mr. Farrell, this way."

After Colin entered the house. Hugh's wife was approaching him with a fruit plate. She greeted Colin and asked about Lance's recent condition.

Mrs. Langford started to get sentimental and began to wipe her tears.

"This child always makes me worried. He promised to come home once a week but he has disappeared for half a month."

It was obvious that Mrs. Langford really took Lance as her own son.

Colin said calmly, "I'll go back and talk to him tonight. I'll ask him to come home more often."

Mrs. Langford replied, "I'm sorry to bother you."

After Mrs. Langford finished speaking, she wanted to say something else, but Hugh glared at her with a warning look and said, "Mr. Farrell is here for work. Are you done yet?"

Mrs. Langford's expression got stiffened. She smiled apologetically at Colin, made a few apologies, and went upstairs.

As soon as Mrs. Langford left, Hugh walked to the single-seater couch and sat down. He said while he was leaning over to make tea for Colin, "Mr. Farrell, do you find me suspicious and that's why you are coming to me?"
