Although Jerry didn’t look well in the ICU, it was unexpected that he passed away so soon. 

Another person protecting her was gone from this world! 

And it didn’t have to happen! 

“Zachary!” Annie sounded very sad. 

No one knew from whom she got 

the news. 

Zachary looked at Annie and frowned. 

Annie asked Mary, “How’s grandpa?” 

Charlotte was standing between them. 

But she felt excluded. 

Charlotte didn’t care about this. But she couldn’t help but get angry when she saw Annie. 

Suddenly, Charlotte slapped Annie’s face. 

Everyone was shocked. 

Before anyone could say anything, Charlotte grabbed Annie’s well–trimmed hair and banged her head against the wall. 

It was very loud, and Annie groaned in pain. 

Charlotte was too angry to be rational now. 

Why did Jerry die so suddenly? 

Annie took a wrist, “No!” 

But Charlotte couldn’t hear her begging because of the anger. 

Charlotte was about to bang Annie again. 

But Charlotte was stopped by some force in her wrist. 

It made her hurt and unhand Annie. Before Charlotte knew it, she was pushed away. 

“You’re crazy!” It was Zachary. 

Charlotte got indignant when she realized Zachary was trying to protect Annie, “You insisted on

saving this woman regardless of your child three years ago, and now you are protecting her regardless of your grandpa.” 

“Who gives you the right to say 

this?” 

“Grandpa! He is the only one that protected me in this marriage!” 

Yes. 

Jerry’s protection was the reason for this unfortunate marriage to start and end. 

Jerry was honoring his promise to her grandma until the end of his life. 

How could Charlotte let Annie, who killed grandpa in some way, get away from this? 

Mary paused. 

Then she looked at Zachary and Annie, her look as shape as a knife. 

“What happened three years ago, Zachary?” 

Mary knew Zachary and Annie were having some kind of affair. 

But she didn’t know about the bone marrow. 

If Mary found out Annie’s life was given by her grandson…! 

“Don’t you know, Ms. Johnston? I was desperate three years ago because…!” 

“Charlotte!” 

Zachary stopped her and looked at her with a warning look. 

Annie turned pale. 

Jerry could have killed Annie but for Zachary’s protection during these three years. 

And she was under threat all the time. 

Annie had been waiting for Jerry to die. She knew he liked Charlotte. 

She also knew that the thing between Gordon and Charlotte would kill him! 

Annie was in no hurry!
