Chapter 331 Was Not Careful

"You tell me, Wendy." Melody knew that her son would not open up easily, so she turned to Wendy.

There was a trace of panic on Wendy's face, and she glanced at Byron beside her, her brows furrowing helplessly.

After a long while, she lowered her eyes and explained softly to Melody, "Miss Jacobs brought her two children to the hospital just now, and we met. I saw that one of her children wasn't feeling well, and it reminded me of Estie. I felt uneasy, so I let Byron help her."

Wendy was afraid Melody was not convinced, so she quickly added, "I mean, Byron didn't plan to go."

She nervously looked at Byron, an implication that the man just followed her wishes and went down the stairs to help Rosalie.

Naturally, Melody did not believe such a statement and looked at her son with a sullen face. "Is what Wendy said true? She's injured, but you went to check on someone else's children instead?" Byron deeply frowned and said nothing.

Melody knew her son well and knew that his silence was not only a tacit admission that he went to see Rosalie's children, but he was also denying that Wendy was the one who told him to go.

She also knew that he was the one who took the initiative to go see them.

Thinking that Wendy suffered such a serious injury to save herself but her son left her to see Rosalie's children without hesitation, Melody felt annoyed.

"Wendy is still taking your side, but what about you? Have you ever thought about her? She's injured but was left to walk alone in the hospital. If someone had bumped into her, her injury will worsen. What will you do then?" Seeing that Melody was angry, Wendy hurriedly reached out and held her hand to comfort her. "Aunt, I'm fine. My injury is almost healed, and it's very inconvenient for Miss Jacobs to take care of two children by herself. We know each other, after all. Even if Rosalie did something wrong before, the children are innocent. Not just Byron, but I was also very worried about the child's condition."

Melody felt more and more distressed when she saw Wendy being so kind and sensible. Her son must have been drugged or bewitched by this Jacobs woman that he could not see how good Wendy was.

"Byron, don't you still have work to do? Go to work. I'll chat with Aunt Melody," Wendy said to Byron kindly.

Byron deeply frowned and glanced at the two of them. He did not want to listen to his mother's lectures anymore, so he turned around and walked out. He closed the door on his way out.

Seeing that her son left just like this, Melody felt even sorrier for Wendy. "Wendy, is this how he's been treating you? why didn't you tell me earlier?"

Wendy pursed her lips and smiled. "It's nothing. I'm very satisfied that Byron is treating me the way he is now."

Melody still felt injustice for her and repeatedly assured her that she would never accept Rosalie.

However, when she spoke, she saw that Wendy's face seemed to be getting paler and sicker.

"Wendy, what's wrong with you? Did someone bump into your arm just now?" Melody frowned, her eyes full of concern. Wendy's arm hurt for a while, and when she heard the words, she forced a smile. "No, it's just that I wasn't careful..." She had basically admitted that there was something wrong with her arm.

Melody stared at her closely, her eyes filled with suspicion. "What the hell is going on? Are you sure it's your fault?"

She could not believe that Wendy was not careful, she had been in the hospital for so long and her arm had always been fine, why did she suddenly hurt herself today?
