Chapter 1511: Pleasant Surprise

Camille's question to Talia was not asked lightly; she genuinely didn't know who else to turn to. She gazed at Talia, her lips lightly pressed together, and Talia's expression grew serious as she asked, "Camille, are you sure about what you just said?"

Camille nodded. "Yes, I am."

Talia also nodded, her expression still grave.

She remained silent for a while before speaking.

Meanwhile, Camille respected her space and waited until Talia finally said, "Camille, I understand what you're saying. If it's about Simpson Group, I'll need to talk to my father to find out more. I don't usually involve myself in Simpson Group matters. As for the Simpson family, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be involved. They're known for their kindness and wouldn't hold a grudge for so long." Talia was certain about this.

And Camille trusted her. There was no need to hide anything - the truth was the truth, and it was as simple as that.

"Regarding the Simpson family, I share the same thoughts. It's just that when it comes to Simpson Group's business dealings, there are often conflicts of interest that may result in harm to others, so I'm not entirely sure," Camille affirmed.

"You don't need to worry. I'll talk to my father about this matter and see what he says," Talia assured her.

"Mom... Right now, I don't want Dad and Grandpa to know about this just yet. Ayan is aware of Preston's intentions, but he doesn't know that Preston has already caused trouble for me because of this. I don't want Ayan to find out," Camille expressed her concerns.

If Ayan knew, he would definitely be furious. And unpredictably, he might do something regrettable when his emotions were out of control. Camille didn't want Ayan to know, and certainly didn't want him to react impulsively to Preston's provocation.

Talia understood this and smiled. "Don't worry, I won't say anything. This will be our little secret, and it's not something for the men to concern themselves with. Your approach is wise. Ayan's emotions are fiery because he cares about you so much."

"Yeah, I know," Camille lightly nodded. She had to go to the company, so she didn't stay long at the Simpson's mansion after chatting with Talia. Instead, she spent some time talking to Timmy before leaving. Camille headed straight to Armstrong Corp. Since her one-on-one talk with the shareholders at Armstrong Corp, she hadn't made any moves. This left some shareholders puzzled, as they had no idea what she planned to do.

Some of them thought they were making a big deal out of nothing, and impatience started to set in. Just when the issue regarding Armstrong Corp and Camille had started to calm down, something unexpected happened in the afternoon. There was a sudden surge of online gossip about Camille and Armstrong Corp.

"Is Armstrong Corp ungratefully kicking Horace out? Camille has taken full control. According to sources within Armstrong Corp, Camille is now strictly enforcing office hours and demanding full cooperation. Employees who don't comply are reportedly threatened, just like the shareholders of Armstrong Corp."

Kian was the one to inform Camille about this news. He had been working with Ayan at Simpson Group and rushed to Armstrong Corp as soon as he saw the news online.

He told Camille about it, but she didn't react much. It was all expected.

"Shouldn't we be able to identify the mole soon?" Camille asked Kian.

"Yes, we're currently investigating. We should have results soon," Kian replied in a low voice.

Camille also instructed, "Is the project between Simpson Group and Nores Group going smoothly?"

Camille wasn't following this project closely. Although she was technically in charge of Armstrong Corp now, she didn't take an active role in the company's projects. Horace's secretary wouldn't voluntarily update her on these matters either.

Kian responded, "Yes, it's going well. Mr. King returned from Flento City last night, and he intends to have dinner together at the Simpson Group's hotel. Will you join us?"

"Is that Ayan's suggestion?" Camille asked, surprised that Ayan hadn't mentioned it to her.

Kian explained, "Mr. Simpson said it's up to you. If you want to go, then go. If not, then don't. Mr. Simpson is currently busy and will probably talk to you again later."

"All right, I understand. I'll go," Camille agreed. Since nothing else was pressing, and everyone already thought of her as the general manager of Armstrong Corp, she might as well substantiate that identity. Deciding to attend the dinner, Kian took the initiative to inform the shareholders. He let them know that Camille would be attending the dinner as the head of Armstrong Corp, making her intentions clear to them.

After Horace's secretary passed on this message, Camille turned to Kian and asked, "Wasn't the dinner supposed to be tomorrow? Why did you tell them it's tonight?"

She was surprised because Kian had just told her it was for tomorrow.

Kian just smiled and said, "Don't worry, madam. I've already informed Horace's secretary about the change in schedule."

A group of shareholders had been divided into three separate groups, and the search for the mole had been narrowed down. It would be much simpler to identify the culprit now.

That night was eventful. The media had been staking out the Simpson Group's hotel since seven o'clock, but they didn't catch Camille or any other important figures related to the project. Instead, they were surprised with a chance encounter - Ayan had arranged for several tall, sturdy men to be present.

Faced with these men, the photographers and cameramen, who were used to being in control behind their equipment, were powerless. They had their cameras and equipment confiscated and dared not make a sound or resistance. They pleaded for mercy.

But the men paid no heed to their pleas. Following Kian's instructions, they interrogated the shaken journalists, demanding, "Who sent you here? Be clear. If you can't, then your meal won't be the only thing you'll be missing out on."

The journalists exchanged fearful glances, their voices trembling as they confessed, "We don't know who sent us. We just received a call saying that something related to the change of ownership at Armstrong Corp was going to happen tonight, and they wanted us to come in advance to gather first-hand information."

"You don't know who sent you, and yet you still dared to do this?" the lead man questioned.

The reporters were terrified and stammered, "We really don't know. We only have a phone number. You can call and ask?"
