Chapter 24 

“Not much, but it’s enough to feed the family.” 

“So you’ve used all your savings to buy such an expensive diamond ring?” 

Hymes tone was slightly more discreet, “There’s still some saving left.” 

Kila was now completely satisfied with Hymes‘ character. 

No matter what, as long as a man was willing to spend money on his woman, this mindset proved that he had some merit. 

Men who were handsome and willing to spend money on their women were way better than those who were so petty, stingy cheapskates. 

Even if Giselle did not care about the money, in the eyes of Kila, her best friend deserved a man who would pamper her. 

Therefore, Hymes met the requirements of Kila no matter the appearance, characters, and all other aspects. 

When Hymes excused himself to the restroom, Kila hurriedly pulled Giselle aside and asked, “Where did you find such a husband? Introduce one to me as 

well?” 

“My mother…. only told me it was her friend’s son, but she did not mention many details. So only after meeting him then I realize he isn’t… that bad.” 

However, before today, Giselle had not even thought about that many things either. Yet, these answers from Hymes made Giselle feel more assured. 

Giselle felt that this marriage could last longer and not end abruptly. 

“What about your mother? Does she know that you’ve married so suddenly?” 

“I haven’t told her yet.” 

“She’s been rushing you to get married all day, so why haven’t you told her yet?” 

Giselle answered in distress; “Originally, I wanted to let her know, but she inadvertently learned about my past relationship with Mickey. I told her we had broken up, but she just simply didn’t believe me.” 

“This is such a nuisance…. It looks like you’ll have to find another opportunity to try and convince her again.” 

“I’ll talk to her again for sure, but you know my mother’s character. Perhaps… we should wait a little longer…” 

Giselle could not decide for the moment. 

After the meal, Kila offered to pay the bill, but Hymes was faster as he had already settled the bill when Hymes went to the restroom. 

Kila gave a knowing look to Giselle, and her evaluation of Hymes increased a little more. 

Giselle shook her head helplessly as she knew Kila, her best friend, was concerned for her and hoped that Giselle would meet a reliable man. 

It was just that Giselle’s relationship with Hymes was complicated… Even Giselle could not understand it herself. 

Hymes called a cab after they left the place.. 

Giselle offered Kila, “Shall we give you a lift back home?” 

“Oh, no. There’s no need for it. I’m meeting a colleague for a drink. You two can go home first… and enjoy more couple time together.” 

Just when Kila was about to say goodbye, she suddenly received a phone call. After a few exchanges of words, Kila hurriedly held Giselle back and asked, “If you both aren’t in a hurry to go home, shall we go to the bar and hang out there for a while?” 

“What’s the matter?” 

Chapter 24 

Kila gritted her teeth and told Giselle, “Mickey and the others are in that barl 

The person who kila was meeting was a colleague that Giselle knew. The colleague coincidentally ran into Giselle when she had a date with Mickey. 

Unexpectedly, Mickey and the others went to the bar after tonight’s dinner, and it just so happened that Kila’s colleagues were also there too. 

The colleague saw Mickey and Jenny Clarks were very intimate and hurriedly asked Kila about the current situation between Giselle and Mickey 

Giselle scowled, “What he’s doing has nothing to do with me.” 

“No. That jerk cheated on you, so we must teach him a good lesson.” 

“I’ll go with you, so there’s no need to bring Hymes along.” 

Kila started gearing up and said, “How can we not bring Hymes along? We need your current husband to trash your former jerk boyfriend.” 

Before Giselle could reject, Kila had already turned around and asked Hymes darkly, “Giselle’s ex–boyfriend and the slut are in the bar. I’m going there to trash their happy moments. Do you want to come along?” 

“Kila.__” 

Giselle felt that there was no need to cause such conflict, but before she could voice out anything, Giselle saw Hymes nod with an icy look. 

Kila snapped her finger, “Let’s go! I’m so going to teach that bastard and whore tonight a good lesson!” 

In the car heading to the bar, Giselle sat beside Hymes and poked his arm, “Why did you promise her? What if later we created bigger trouble?” 

Hymes maintained his composure, held onto Giselle’s poking hand, and replied hoarsely, “I know what I’m doing. Don’t worry.” 

Sensing that Giselle was still hesitating, Hymes asked her instead, “Are you sure you are fine with your friend going there alone? What if they have more people and bullied her?” 

These words immediately made Giselle set her mind to going with Kila. Even if Giselle was not there to cause trouble, she just wanted to ensure Kila was safe and not being bullied. 

Giselle suddenly realized that Hymes was still holding onto her hand, and his warmth was scorching. 

Giselle was slightly panicked and withdrew her hand and sat upright while tilting her face to another side. 

Hymes raised his eyebrow casually, delighted because of Giselle’s pure innocent. 

Giselle’s awkwardness meant that Hymes could have more in the future… 

The atmosphere in the bar was not overly noisy, with just a band on stage singing. With murderous intent, Kila led them into the bar and immediately looked for Mickey and the rest. 

Instead, Kila was tugged by her colleague, “Stop searching around blindly. They are up in the front.” 

The front–most booth was the most expensive. 

Kila sneered coldly, “This jerk just broke up and was already hanging out with a bitch publicly. Sooner or later, he will surely be punished.” 

Just when the colleague was about to speak up, the colleague saw Giselle and a man beside her come right in after Kila. 

The colleague was so surprised and asked in shock, “What’s going on? Why did you also call Giselle here too? Who is that man beside her?” 

“He’s handsome, isn’t he? Giselle’s husband is way better than the jerk, right?” Kila smirked proudly. 

Hymes had one hand in his pocket and wordlessly revealed an aura of sternness and seriousness which made a very strong presence. 

The colleague whispered, “What… is there to compare about?” 

Chapter 24 

Kila dragged Giselle to the seat the colleague had booked and started planning ways to get back at Mickey. 

Looking from afar, the employees of Domino Media were happily playing games. They revolved around Mickey and Jenny and were having a great time. 

Hymes glanced over, and a murderous intent flashed in his eyes, but he covered it up quickly and perfectly. 

“Kila, control yourself a bit. Don’t create too much trouble, all right.” 

“Don’t worry.” Kila took a bottle of wine and grinned quirkily, “I’m now going to make them suffer.” 

Giselle got up quickly and grabbed Hymes‘ arm, “Come on, let’s follow Kila, hurry! Don’t let her cause too much trouble.” 

Kila had already reached the front–most booth and placed the bottle of wine on the table, attracting the attention of everyone. 

Among the numerous questioning gazes from others, Kila sneered and mocked, “Oh, my. Who is this? Isn’t this my best friend’s scum ex?”
