Chapter 69 

“Are you sure you want me to look into this?” Jimmy asked tentatively after hearing her request. 

Cynthia replied, “Yes.” 

Though puzzled, Jimmy agreed, saying, “No problem!” 

“After you finish, send me the information,” 

“Okay.” 

Cynthia then put down her phone and went to sleep under the covers. 

The following day, she saw a message from Jimmy. 

[Cynthia, I searched all night and didn’t find anything special. The only woman who entered his circle is still Chyler Young.] Cynthia replied, [Okay, got it.] 

She did not call Jimmy to ask for more details. 

After all, Jimmy had burned the midnight oil and was probably asleep now. Hence, calling him would only disturb him. 

Cynthia thought that nothing else would happen after coming here with Joshua and behaving herself. However, she had underestimated the ability of some people to cause trouble. 

Not long after having breakfast and finding a charger to charge her phone, Cynthia saw Joshua return with Yoel, who had a complicated expression. 

Joshua exuded a cold and ruthless aura, and his eyes were sharp as a dagger. Then, he walked toward Cynthia. 

With his tailored suit, Joshua looked very tall and imposing. 

Suddenly, he grabbed her by the neck and pinned her against the wall, his eyes filled with anger. 

“Cynthia, I really misjudged you!” 

“When you loudly declared in the hospital that it wasn’t you, I believed you.” 

“How could you ruin my trust!” 

Joshua had incredible strength. 

Cynthia sensed danger and instinctively kicked at Joshua, forcing him to release her neck. 

She coughed violently, and a distinct mark appeared on her fair, slender neck. 

“What the hell is wrong with you?” Cynthia could not contain her anger anymore. 

It was early in the morning, and Joshua did not even bother to greet her before trying to strangle her. 

Was this something a normal person would do? 

Joshua’s eyes were cold and filled with anger. “Why did you send someone to hit Jayleen? Tell me!” 

“When did I send someone to hit her? The police have already arrested the suspect. Why are you coming to me like a madman? 

“Cynthia said furiously. 

Yoel pushed his glasses up and cleared his throat, chiming in, “The police just called. They said the suspect accused you of hiring him to hit Ms. Shaw.” 

Normally, the police would arrest Cynthia since she was the suspect. However, Joshua stopped the arrest after the police. updated him on the discovery and came here himself since the matter concerned Jayleen. 

“Let’s go to the police station.” Cynthia did not want to argue with Joshua any
