Chapter 1925

After going upstairs, Stella caught a glimpse of Aurora's figure flashing across the walkway.

Stella needed to use the restroom badly, so she did not care much about it.

Meanwhile, Aurora held something and waited for a long time, but Dahlia was nowhere to be seen. She kept glancing at the time, feeling a little uneasy.

'Is Mom simply drawing me away because she wants to do something bad to Stella?

Mrs. Chapman and Mom have a good relationship. If Mom were to do anything at the wedding, Mrs. Chapman could help cover it up,' Aurora thought to herself.

She became restless upon thinking about that. She turned around, intending to leave. Just as she pulled the door open, Dahlia stood at the entrance, about to come in.

Seeing Aurora wanting to leave, Dahlia paused and stared at Aurora. "Where are yougoing?" she asked.

"Nowhere." Aurora took a step back and said in a low voice," Mom, you told me to be here, but you haven't come yourself.

I thought you had something else to do, so I wanted to leave.

She paused before adding, "Mom, is there anything I can help you with?"

Dahlia sat down and gestured for her to do the same, "It's nothing. I just want to ask, is there any progress with the plan after you have lived in Royalpark Villa for so long? You've been adding something to Stella's fruit vinegar, right? Does she have any reactions?"

Aurora's back stiffened as she clenched her fists nervously." Stella is very cautious. After she tasted something off with it, she immediately stopped drinking it. I'm still thinking of other ways," she said in a low voice.

From Dahlia's perspective, Aurora appeared calm and did not look nervous at all, as she would when lying to her.

Although Dahlia's anger flared up inside, her expression remained nonchalant.

After a moment of contemplation, she said, "Forget it. I was blinded by hatred before. The

Kane family bloodline needs to be extended. Although I still hate Stella, it doesn't change the fact that the baby in her belongs to Keegan. After all, he's not young anymore; it won't be easy for him to have another child. He doesn't remember her anymore and might not even marry her if she gives birth to the baby. So, why should I risk my grandchild's life?"

Aurora paused, not knowing how to react. Then, she said after a brief pause, "Mom, I—I s that really what you think?"

Dahlia sighed. She reached out to fix Aurora's hair and said gently, "Actually, I've been thinking about this for a while now. I was afraid you wouldn't like the idea, so I didn't tell you. After all, Keegan has got you locked up because of

Stella, and that's something I can't get over, too. I'm worried that you might think I don't care about your feelings. Aurora, you won't hate me for this, right?"

Aurora lowered her gaze as her eyelashes trembled slightly," Mom, it has been so long, and I have almost forgotten about it now. Besides, I admit I went too far that time. I'm glad nothing serious happened. Keegan didn't do it solely for Stella. He has always loved me, and I'm pretty sure he felt very bad for doing that to me, too."

Dahlia said in a gentle tone, "It's great that you feel this way. I was so worried that you might hold a grudge, so I never dared to talk to you about it."

"Mom, I thought many things through after what happened to Keegan. No matter how good he is to Stella, we're still family. He values his friends very much and would do anything for them; imagine how he'd help his family. I'm just grateful that he got to return home safely. I don't care about what happened before; I just want him to be safe and happy. I don't want him to end up like Dad, existing only in my memories."

Aurora's eyes turned red as she spoke.

Dahlia gently wiped her tears away with a tissue, "You're right. Hatred clouded my judgment back then and almost caused you to do something irreversible. Thank God..."

After chatting for a while more, Aurora suddenly remembered the bag Dahlia had asked her to bring up earlier.

She handed it to Dahlia and asked, Mom, why did you ask me to bring you food? Are you hungry?"

Dahlia told Aurora to bring her dessert when they were talking on the phone. Initially,

Aurora had thought of bringing it on a plate, but Dahlia insisted she asked a waiter to pack it.

Aurora felt strange, so she asked Dahlia about it.
