Chapter 42 Expect The Unexpected

Lucifer Zades P.O.V

All of their heads snap their attention towards me in questioning. My father in law creased his eyebrows in confusion wanting an answer to this puzzled situation.

Why does she wanna kill me ?

What the fuck did I do ?

When he got no answer from me as I just stayed put like a heavy solid statue, he looked over to his beta and delta giving them a hint to capture her.

They shifted back immediately holding onto each of her arms pulling her up harshly not even giving a damn that they were both naked as the day they were born.

Zachary Lawson P.O.V

We took the SheWolf named Lilith down to the pack house basement to interrogate her further. Chaining and cuffing her up with silver, the alpha was present while me and Octavius took time to dress ourselves first.

Once we were decent, we joined him in the basement.

She hissed at the pain the chains were causing her as it weakens her strength within a short amount of time. The wounds that she was having previously were healing but it was rather slower than expected.

Our Alpha stood right in front of her frame crossing his arms over his chest with a stern expression plastered on his face.

“Which pack do you come from ?” He questioned raising an eyebrow. She however kept silent only focusing on the pain that the chains and cuffs were causing her.

“I asked you a question, I demand answers!” He snarled at her making her glare at him with pure hatred growling lowly.

The nerve of this bitch but she’s a feisty one isn’t she ?

“I won’t tell you.” She said determined.

The alpha looked over at Octavius giving him a short nod. Octavius went over to her tightening the chains and made her to get on her knees.

He took a bottle of sapphire blue liquid filled with aconite pouring it slightly on her wound so it’ll burn her like acid on skin.

Aconite was also known as Wolfsbane.

She cried out in pain as tears spilled out of her eyes. “Stop! Please!” She begged.

“Keep pouring until she surrenders.” Our Alpha ordered. Octavius hesitated before obeying his command.In seconds she screamed out as more of the blue liquid burned her already wounded area.

“Stop! I’ll tell you!” She finally surrendered.

Octavius stopped pouring the aconite on her wound immediately. He has a a soft spot for women I guess. Closing back the bottle with its cap. He then took an injection that looked similar to the hospitals instrument filled with a drug to receive only the truth from her.

He came beside her before injecting her in the side of her left arm shoulder making her whimper.

“Answers.” Our Alpha stated.

“I-I c-came from.” She gulped before continuing “no p-pack” she finished shaking her head, more tears filling her eyes.

We looked at her confused.

No pack ?

How is that even possible living without a pack for such a long time. Rogue life was possible ?

“If you came from no pack, why kill the black wolf you saw in the woods?” The alpha asked confused.

“L-lucifer, h-he h-he” she tried to fight off the drug that was consuming in her.

“He’s d-death g-gives me f-freedom.”

Freedom ?

Nothing makes sense. Why does he’s death gives her freedom ?

Before the Alpha could ask her any further questions, the metal door to the basement opened revealing my little sister Zoe on sight. I growled at her mind linking her to not be here at this type of situation or especially in this type of moments when we are busy.

She looked at Lilith, fear swirling in her eyes as she saw her all weak and bruised up to a really bad shape.

“A-alpha Nathaniel, Alpha Z-Zades is here.” She informed.

What ?

This was so not the time for visitors, I groaned inwardly.

Unexpected Visitors.

He sighed saying he’ll be there in a moment, running a hand through his hair. We left the girl making sure she’s tied with no chance of escape.

Lucifer Zades P.O.V

I was back in my room only to see that it was all cleaned up.

Impressive; formidable.

Seriously, I’m impressed but nothing beats my own room in my clan. I sighed, I do miss those.

In a while my mind wandered back to the incidents that happened in the woods earlier.

I couldn’t help but let my mind linger to the unknown girl.

Why did she want to kill me ? She very well knew it was me.

I’ve never seen her in my entire life. My wolf growled thinking he should’ve just murdered her when he got the chance and I couldn’t agree more.

It was either kill or be killed.

That little thing think she could defeat me ? Are all females stupid to think they can be more stronger than males ? Especially humans. Well the next time I meet her, she shall have her death wish.

A knock on the door took me by surprise as I saw Zachary’s short sister, Zoe opening the door.

“You’re wanted in the hallway.” She explained her sudden appearance and I gave her a short nod.

Why am I wanted anyways ?

I threw on a black shirt and black jeans before heading downstairs as some familiar scents hit my nostrils. I’ve smelled this before but why doesn’t it ring a bell ?

Once I entered the hallway, I knew what or shall I say from whom did the scents wandered off from.

I saw the man that ruined my life, my father with his wife or mate and their son, Gabriel sitting on the couch talking to my dear old father in law.

Once I made my presence known in the hall, all eyes snapped to my figure. I didn’t know I was a celebrity to have all the attention on me.

“Ah, Lucifer.” My so called father, Zades stood up from his couch with a million dollar smile on his face striding over towards where I was. He towered over the same height as me giving me a manly hug before patting my back twice.

At least I know I take my height from my dad though I’ve never really wanted to be like him in any way.

This was awkward.

I don’t do hugs with the same sex.

“I see you’ve changed.” He said looking over at me proudly. I raised an eyebrow at him not really interested in having a conversation.

“I see you’ve aged.” I retorted, a slight smirk forming on my lips. He rolled his eyes in annoyance.

“Everyone ages.” He replied before motioning for his mate to greet me as she too stood up from her couch walking towards me. I didn’t like this one bit, I felt like she was the other woman though in my heart it really hurt to know that my mom was the real other woman.

This was really disturbing. I didn’t want her near me, greet me or even talk to me.

“Hi Lucifer.” She said sweetly giving me a warm hug in a motherly embrace before taking a step back and smiling at me. That moment my heart stopped for a minute or two. The motherly action and affection that she showed warmed my insides in a way I couldn’t describe.

I nod towards her giving her a small smile blinking a few times to keep my emotions in control.

Then, Gabriel stood up taking his time to near towards me. The moment he was a foot away, we made eye contact which took a much of a longer time than we both expected. It was still from the memories that happened in the past.

I still can’t forgive him agreeing to marry my mate and make her his.

I will never allow another man even if he’s my own fresh and blood to take what’s mine in a million years.

Zades cleared his throat to break our eye contact that seemed more like glares towards each other.

“Hi big brother.” He said with a mischievous glint in his blue eyes that remarkably looked so similar to mines with a sly smirk before giving out his right hand for me to shake.

I raised an eyebrow amused with his shocking friendly action that we both knew all too well was only act on the outside. So I went along with the scene playing my part.

“Hi little brother.” I said with a smirk to tick him off taking his hand to shake. We still had our hands and eyes locked toward one another.

Zades looked at the both of us shaking his head knowing where this way going.

“Okay.” He said coming in between us breaking our eye contact and pushing our hands away to ourselves before continuing in a monotone that seemed like he was talking more to himself.

“Happy family reunion.” He muttered clapping his hands once.

I crossed my arms over my chest huffing, leaning against a wall behind me when suddenly Gabriel whole frame went rigid. He stuck his nose up in the air before looking at me with eyes flickering to pitch black.

“What’s that smell ? Where did you get that scent from ?” He questioned.

I looked at him confused. What is he even talking about ?

Everyone looked at him puzzled at his sudden weird behaviour. Guess my half brother has a few loosen screws in his head.

News flash.

“Gabriel, stop this.” Zades warned him.

Suddenly one of the member of the pack came running towards us in the hallway. “Alpha! The rogue had escaped!” He said out of breath making him growl in disappointment.

“Rogue?” Zades questioned at my him raising an eyebrow.

“No time, gotta catch her.” He said and before I knew what was going on all of them were out the door shifting into wolf form. Gabriel shifted into a pure white wolf out the pack house before running towards the woods to find Lilith.

I don’t even know if it was a good idea to follow them.

Should I ?

I thought about it for a moment before deciding to just follow them to see what happens but I kept my distance, not shifting in wolf form. I maintained to my human self.

I heard growls before paws thudding over on the ground. There I saw her maroon wolf form.

She looked frail as she limped here and there.

When her eyes caught me, she straight away took action and ran towards me forgetting her pain.

Does she think she’s the female version of hulk ?

I was getting ready for the impact to end her once and for all but when she pounced, in mid jump a white wolf pushed her away from me making her get hit by a large tree and fall down on her side.

I couldn’t believe it.

Gabriel protected me ? But I had everything under control. I didn’t know if I should be proud, thankful or be full fledge disappointed.

He snarled viciously baring his canines moving towards her in a predatory manor.

But some things happened;

First, both their eyes met.

Second, he stopped his movement to an abruptly.

Third, they both shifted back whispering the word I’ve never thought they both would say to each other.

“Mate.”

Great. My half brother has a psychopath hulk mate who is restless to see me dead. What can possibly go wrong?
