I couldn’t.

I couldn’t leave him stranded with a loaded gun pointing toward his head.

I stood my ground.

Anyone in my shoes would have done the same. Who would choose freedom over their soulmate ?

I lowered myself onto the ground as a sign of submission.

Lucifer Argent’s P.O.V

Why the hell wasn’t she running ?

My wolf growled at her for not obeying our rules.

At the same time he whimpered seeing her unsafe.

Kyle wouldn’t dare drive a bullet in my head; not while my dad is around.

I saw her lowering her big wolf body down and I mentally groaned.

Can’t she the fuck understand what is the meaning of run ?

I saw my dad focus onto her and Kyle slightly loosened his grip on the gun and I knew that, that was my queue to make a move.

I quickly elbowed him in the stomach and pulled the gun out of his hand, pointing it towards him.

He looked taken aback.

My dad took a step forward and I pointed the gun at him.

”So.” He started.

“You even have the guts to shoot me. Do you have the heart to do it though?” He asked.

“Well you had.” I said and flicked the thing that was on the back of the gun ready to shoot.

His face turned to one of pure horror and terror written all over.

But before I could press it, my foolish little mate came in between us.

“Step aside.” I ordered.

She didn’t move and just stayed there.

“I said step aside.” I growled, my wolf surfacing.

She refused and shook her head.

’Please, you’ll regret it.” I heard her voice in my head.

“I wouldn’t regret-“

’He did look after you until now.′ She says.

I clenched and unclenched my jaw, trying to control my vexation.

First, she disobeyed me.

Second, she’s wasn’t listening to me.

I thought about all the times when I was younger and when I was with him. The time he used to cradle me in his arms and gave me anything I wanted.

“Fine.!” I groaned.

“Harm her, you wouldn’t be so lucky then.” I threatened.

How can he kill the man who had gave him a very comfortable life ?

Yes, he had tortured him in hunting and training but rather than that, he did his fatherly duties.

“Get me my clothes in a suitcase and all my cash. I’m leaving this place and Devon ?” I started.

Lucifer than looked at me and I took a step back. His look is enough for anyone to cower down beneath him.

He kneeled down, “Come here.” He said.

Should I go near him ?

“Do I always have to repeat twice for you to understand ? “ He groaned.

I slowly walked over there in all fours.

“Shift back.” He ordered.

I shook my head no.

I can’t be naked around him.

“It’s not like I haven’t seen you naked before.” He reasoned.

He unbuttoned his shirt and took it out. “Shift back and wear this.” He said handling his shirt to me.

I took it into my mouth and walked behind a tree. I quickly shifted back and placed the shirt on, buttoning up the buttons quickly.

Although the shirt reached mid thigh, I still feel so exposed and shy.

I saw Devon coming out with two huge suitcases and a small bag and wallet loaded with credit cards.

“Thanks.” He thanked and Devon smiled, shrugging.

He carried the suitcases and I followed him quietly until we reached a Ferrari.

He tossed the bags in the booth of the car before taking my hand and dragged me to sit on the front passengers seat. He shut the door and walked over to the drivers side, he sat in and began reversing the car.

I just kept quiet, what more can I say ?

Should I ask where are we going ?

Should i ask where are you taking me ? Or more importantly should I ask why are you coming along with me ?

Questions came bickering inside my head, but I didn’t have the courage to ask him. I was a valorous girl in my pack but I’m a milksop whenever I’m with him.

He parked near a shopping mall. Why the shopping mall ?

“Wait here and don’t go anywhere.” He said before getting off the car. He switched it to child lock and opened the window of the car slightly and went away.

I just sighed and rested my head on the window. So much had happened in a day. I felt so fatigued and worn out.

I dozed off for awhile but awoke when I heard the slam of the car door. I saw Lucifer with big bags pilled with clothes.

He gave them to me and started the car again. Confused, I took a peek of the clothes in it.

It was all woman’s clothing. Was this for me ?

“Change at the back of the car, we will be living in a fancy hotel for today. You can’t just come inside wearing that.” He answered my unquestioned thoughts.

I nodded and climbed over at the back. I hope he doesn’t take any peeks at me.

I quickly wore in undergarments with a black top and jeans. I climbed back onto the front seat.

I saw him taking a look over at me before directing his eyes back onto the road.

A few minutes later, we parked near a really huge hotel.
