Someone else suggested, “It has to be the owner of Carter Tech City. Who else would warrant such a grand display?”

A pin-drop silence loomed over the scene as everyone stared at the car expectantly. Even the people who had already passed through the gates into the city leaned over the barrier and waited to see what would happen next.

The car slowly accelerated forward and seemed like it was going to run over Caprice.

“Caprice, get up!” Moses’ frantic shout shattered the silence.

It was only then that people noticed Caprice still doubled over on the ground, and they began to point at her and laugh.

Moses held his breath.

Kenneth and Jonathan stepped backward defensively.

Most of the people who were making fun of Caprice only moments ago staggered backward as well.

Liam turned to the assistant who followed him closely the entire while and ordered sternly, “Check the surveillance footage and identify the person who shoved her to the ground as well as every single person who stepped over her without bothering to help her.”

"Yes, sir.” The assistant asked cautiously. “Sir, what should we do with them?”

Liam spoke with ice in his voice, “Call the police.”

Was he trying to get them arrested? His assistant was caught off guard by this but knew better than to object. “Yes, sir, consider it done.”

Liam went into the car, carrying Caprice the entire while. The door closed with a steady thud. Everyone had not recovered from their shock yet.

Nobody spoke.

Meanwhile, the ones who knew that they had stepped over Caprice just now quickly grew nervous. Moses stared transfixed at the luxury car with its tinted mirrors.

Kenneth, Jonathan, and everyone else who had been making fun of Caprice had all of their cockiness evaporated in an instant.

The owner of Carter Tech City was someone who knew Caprice, and he had carried her into the car like a princess. This was more than enough proof that Caprice never needed a ticket to enter the city in the first place...

Inside the security room, Heather witnessed everything, especially the part where Liam carried Caprice in his arms. She turned pale with a bitter sting of jealousy and rage boiling inside her.

She hurriedly turned around and walked out through the back door of the security room.
