This was because Madam Sager was known for being ruthless and imposing. It was not just Carl who was always the subject of her temper, even the shareholders in the corporation found themselves on the wrong end of her outburst from time to time. They had been tolerating her for a while now.

Sherry clicked a switch and turned it on.

Caprice burrowed herself into it and began driving.

It was designed to drive at a conservative speed so there was no worry of Caprice bumping into things. and hurting herself.

She seemed to be enjoying it very much, she drove it straight to John’s hospital bed.

The rear wheel of the car jammed against the foot of the bed and got stuck.

She tried to steer left and right but could not wring herself free. She cried for help, “Daddy, the car is stuck.”

John expressed helplessly, “Sorry, I can't help you, you'll have to ask Mommy for help.”

Caprice turned to Sherry and whimpered sheepishly, “Mommy...”

Sherry was occupied as well. “Mommy is busy now, ask Grandma to help you.”

It must have been a variety of jewelry and dresses.

She opened some of the boxes of jewelry and saw shining, sparkling pieces of ruby and emeralds inside. They were polished to the extreme, each of them worth a fortune.

Apart from the branded apparel, there was also a box with bottles of vitamin supplements inside. She looked at the jewelry and motioned to Queenie. “Do you want any of these?”

Queenie swayed her head from side to side. “No, they're too flashy for me.”

Sherry glanced at a hairpin strapped with a bell tied around Queenie’s hair and smiled furtively. The ward was very packed, it was not meant for a large party.

Sherry’s one-bedroom apartment was not a suitable place to house Queenie and Madam Stockton either.

She ended up reserving a room at a nearby five-star hotel for them.

Since it was getting late, she asked them to take Caprice to the hotel to catch up on some rest. Both Madam Stockton and Queenie were more than eager to take Caprice with them. They went to the hotel accompanied by Aunt Wanda and Jason.

A looming silence fell over the ward again after they all left. It was only Sherry and John left.

“I'm thirsty,” John announced suddenly.

Sherry asked grumpily, “Why didn't you say that when the nurse came by?”

Madam Stockton, Queenie, and Aunt Wanda had only left five minutes ago. The nurse came by for al routine inspection and had only just left as well. She suspected that John was doing this intentionally to get on her nerves.

“I just happened to feel thirsty now,” John explained with an air of innocence about him.

Reluctant as she was, she ended up pouring him a glass of warm water. She took the glass and approached the bed where she carefully set it down on the bedside table.

She turned around and prepared to head back to her seat.

That was when she felt his arm gripping tightly onto her wrist. Before she could react, she was pulled into the bed.
