Chapter 1763

When she got up, she looked around and was slightly confused.

While she was trying to wrap her head around the situation, Caprice’s adorable voice came from outside, so Sherry got out of bed.

The girl was already dressed and had just come back with John. The table was filled with a luxurious breakfast spread, and the girl was eating a bun in John's arms.

When the father and daughter heard the door opening, they turned to her.

Caprice’s eyes gleamed. She called out adorably, “Mommy, you are awake!"

John smiled. “Morning.”

Sherry's eyes flickered. “How did I end up in the bedroom?” She clearly remembered sleeping on the couch last night.

John said with a smile, “I carried you in.”

Sherry frowned.

John added, “I slept on the couch last night.” What he wanted to say was that he did not sleep with her on the same bed.

Sherry was not particularly angry, but she hummed reluctantly as a reply. She walked over to the table and asked, “How much are all these?”

“There's a receipt there.”

Sherry picked it up and gasped in shock.

Three thousand! Three thousand just for breakfast!

She glared at him.

John smiled. “You don't have to give it back.”

“I... have money,” she argued. She instantly regretted it as her words subsided.

She could afford an expensive meal once in a while but every day?

It would cause her heart and her purse to bleed.

She wanted to save money to buy Caprice a big house in the future. The Sagers paid her well, but she was just a worker with a higher position.

However, she swore to never eat the food that the man bought. She had to show some dignity in front of money and food.

Sherry glared at him before she transferred him the money for the meal: 3,100 in total.

John asked with a curious smile, “Is that a tip?”

Sherry lifted her chin. “Consider it the delivery fee.”

John chuckled. “Thank you, Ms. Fowler.”

Sherry grunted. She sat down and had the breakfast that she just “bought

The weather had been terrible recently. Storms happened more frequently than usual.

On the second night, Sherry toughened up and sent John on the road.

However, the ceaseless rain outside the window made her feel bad for the entire night.

The next day, she woke up before the alarm. She went to the door to check if John had arrived. As soon as she opened the door, John entered her sight. He wore an extra vest outside his shirt, and his hair and shoulder were slightly wet, seemingly because of the rain. He looked paler than yesterday.

Sherry was shocked.

John smiled at her and greeted her gently as usual, “Morning.”

Sherry furrowed her brows. Judging from his voice, he must have caught a cold. Was it because of the rain last night?

"What's wrong?” John asked when he noticed Sherry staring at him.

Sherry put her emotions away and replied coldly, “Nothing.”

She went inside the house; John followed.

Sherry went to the bathroom to wash herself up. When she came out of the bathroom, Caprice woke up. She helped the girl to wash up before bringing her outside.

John was having a glass of warm water when they came out.

Caprice wanted to run to John, but he said, “Caprice, don't come near me. I've got a cold.”
