John stared at her sharply.

The gaze irritated Sylvia. She furrowed her brows and said, “Believe it or not, it's up to you.” She glared at John one last time before she went upstairs, leaving John alone with Odell.

John then turned his attention to Odell.

Odell had a sip of his tea. “Don’t look at me. Why would I know anything about that?”

Upstairs in the children’s room, Isabel and Flint were playing happily.

Despite being children as well, Liam and Caprice were much quieter as they sat opposite the noisy duo.

The boy read a book quietly while the girl looked at him silently.

Sylvia had a glance at them from the door before she went back to her room. She wanted to inform Sherry about what John said, but after she turned on her phone, she hesitated.

Some thoughts later, she went out of her room and headed to the stairs. She looked down at the man sipping on tea and said, “Odell, come up. I have something to talk to you about.”

Upon hearing her voice, Odell, who was by the tea table, looked up at her and then looked at John. “Master Stockton, my wife is calling me. Please excuse me.”

John responded with a jealous smile. “Of course. Don't make Mrs. Carter wait.”

Odell chuckled. He put his cup of tea down and went over to the stairs.

Sylvia went back to her room when she saw him coming up.

A moment later, Odell's towering figure entered the room. He went up to her and asked in a small voice, “What's the matter?”

Sylvia said, “Can you arrange for your men to verify John's claims? Send them to Glenchester again.” Odell smiled. “I've already texted my men in Glenchester while you were talking to him. I believe we will get some updates soon.”

Sylvia's eyes gleamed. She curled her lips in delight and said, “Odell, since when did you become so smart?”

Odell smiled and stroked her face. “I learned from the best.”

Sylvia stared into his eyes. “What does that supposed to mean?”

Odell would never say something this flattering without any reason. He chuckled and said, “Have you gotten in contact with Sherry?”

Sylvia's expression shifted.

Odell continued smiling. All he took was one glance and he could see through her thoughts.

Sylvia had promised Sherry to keep the secret, so she reacted with an evasive gaze and said, “I haven't.”

Odell pinched her cheek. “You were a little rough on him just now. Try to pull it back a notch next time.”

She just glared at him.

Odell patted her head. “Okay. I have to go down now. He'll suspect us if I stay here for too long.” Sylvia's eyes flickered. “Okay.”

The day went by in the blink of an eye.

In the evening, Sylvia wheeled Madam Carter around the garden with Aunt Tonya. They only came back after the sun set over the horizon.

However, John's car was still outside their house.

Sylvia frowned as she wheeled Madam Carter into the house.
