Chapter 11 Is this Doctor Lang?

"Everyone, take a closer look and see if this is Dr. Lang."

Mrs. Sullivan held her phone and showed the contents of the video to the crowd.

Then she glanced at Emma who stood there with a stoic expression on her face. Unfazed.

Mrs. Sullivan was used to her husband cheating on her, but she never had any evidence. She had a young lover herself, and she's been wanting a divorce but she needed evidence that her husband was cheating on her in order to get half of all his money. Who knew God would answer her prayers so quickly? An anonymous person sent her this video of Emma this morning.

As long as she made this cheating scandal big, she wouldn't be worried about alimony in front of the courts.

Thinking about how wonderful her life would be once she gets a divorce, Mrs. Sullivan spoke even louder. "Everyone! You're welcome to take photos and post on social media to show the world what kind of bitch Dr. Lang is!"

The interns all remained professional and didn't dare to take out their phones, but the onlookers all did. Especially the bored folks waiting.

Emma sighed in frustration. She wanted to explain to Mrs. Sullivan but she didn't even know where to start. This woman clearly had her own motives.

"William, that video seems to really be Emma," Jennifer whispered to Wiliam.

William looked indifferently at the whole scene, but if you look closely, you'll see a storm brewing in his dark eyes.

More and more people stood around to watch and take photos, so it was getting crowded and some people were even shoving trying to get a better look. After glancing at the crowd beside him, William raised his hand and grabbed Jennifer's thin wrist, pulling her back from the crowd.

"Ah!" Jennifer West exclaimed and accidentally bumped into Mrs. Sullivan when she moved sideways.

Mrs. Sullivan staggered and her phone fell directly into the bucket that was being carried by the hospital cleaner. The splashing water startled the crowd. Mrs. Sullivan hurriedly tried to get her phone back, which attracted most people's attention.

William held Jennifer's hand and asked in a low voice, "Are you okay?"

His concerned expression fell into Emma's eyes, she tried looking away but she felt glued to the spot.

"I'm fine honey," Jennifer said. Her lashes lowered, hiding the scheming joyful look in her eyes. But to outsiders, she only looked gentle and caring.

"OK." William Montgomery turned his head, and looked at Emma.

When their eyes met, Emma felt embarrassed still, even though she knew she didn't do anything wrong. But in front of William, she felt very self-conscious. She knew what William thought of her, and this was not a good look.

In a daze, a pair of long, straight legs stood by her side.

William looked at her face, there was mockery in his eyes.

"Miss Lang, you've really given me quite a few surprises in the past two days."

Emma Lang's throat was dry. Without waiting for her to say anything, William's emotionless voice continued, and his voice seemed to be deliberately lowered. "The wedding invitation will be sent to you. Remember to come."

After he finished speaking, he left. Even Jennifer was a little slow before she caught up to him.

Emma Lang's neck was so stiff that she couldn't move. She didn't even have the courage to look at William Montgomery. She only looked at the phone that had fallen into the water, and her ears were filled with whispers.

Several security guards arrived after a while. Mrs. Sullivan, who was frantically trying to grab Emma's hair, was pulled away. The dean came to mediate in person, and finally the crowd dispersed.

Outside the hospital, a car was parked waiting for William Montgomery.

After getting into the car, William looked out the window and didn't say another word to Jennifer.

Jennifer looked at him several times and hesitated for a while. Finally, she said, "William, I think the video incident is probably a misunderstanding. Emma isn't the type to do this. I've known her for many years and she isn't a homewrecker."

William listened, thinking.

He remembered the day when Emma begged for his help when that Sullivan guy was after her. He asked as if he didn't care, "really?"

"Hmm, but..."

Jennifer observed the man beside her and said cautiously, "But Emma's behavior's been strange. Back then, she went against her family to go abroad. Her dad was so angry that he got sick and went to the hospital, but he still couldn't stop her from leaving. I wonder what she was thinking."

Emma's departure to go overseas is a thorn in William's heart. No one knew this better than Jennifer.

But at this moment, William acted as if he didn't care at all.

Jennifer didn't give up and continued, "I heard from a few classmates that Emma was actually with a man..."

William's eyes darkened, almost instantly covered with a layer of annoyance. "When did you start taking an interest in useless gossip?"

Jennifer's heart skipped a beat but she continued. "I was just chatting with a few classmates. Emma isn't that type of girl of course, besides wasn't she..."

Before she could finish, she suddenly realized something and her face turned pale.
