Lily was stunned for a while. She realized that, despite her years of being assertive and dominant, she had encountered a tough nut.

"Racheal!" She dialed the internal line. "Hurry on over!"

"What's wrong, Boss?"

"Whatever it takes, get the latest revised version of Maisie's manuscript from Camila's computer!"

"Well... Does Ms. Squire not have it?" Racheal was confused.

"I strongly suspect the versions are different. Otherwise, why wouldn't she give the manuscript to me?"

In the past few days, Maisie had been resting at the hotel. Daniel tried to spend time with her, but due to numerous corporate affairs, he couldn't be by her side 24 hours a day.

Maisie didn't know what was happening herself. Since rescuing that pregnant woman, she had been restless. She sometimes suffered from intense headaches, and her mental state had plummeted.

On that particular day, Daniel had initially planned to take her out for a walk. However, an impromptu important meeting came up, forcing him to stay at the company.

Maisie, being considerate, reassured him that he needed not worry and said she was much better. She suggested resting at home for the day, and even if they didn't go out, they could have dinner together when he returned in the afternoon.

"Then you must wait for me," Daniel said softly. "I'll be back in the afternoon, and we'll go out for dinner."

"Okay." Maisie smiled and hung up. When she looked at the clock, it was only ten in the morning. There was still a long day ahead.

She stood on the balcony and stretched lazily, gazing at the bright sunlight and marveling at how quickly the day would slip away. However, someone called her at that moment.

"I heard that you've been on leave for the past few days. Are you okay?"

Maisie froze. Camila's gentle voice sounded concerned, and her words warmed her heart like the sunshine she was currently basking in.

"Have... Have I been putting too much pressure on you? Maisie, I'm really sorry. If it's my fault, I sincerely apologize to you. I want you to get good results. I'm not intentionally making you revise the manuscript over and over. I'm truly sorry..."

"Oh, it's okay," Maisie said softly. "It's my own issue. I haven't been feeling well."

"How are you feeling now?"

"Much better."

"I think you must be under too much pressure." Camila smiled. "Since the weather is nice today, I asked Ms. Reyes for a day off. How about I take you out for a walk?"

"Well..."

Before Maisie could refuse, Camila added, "I'm also doing this for Daniel! Maisie, we'll be family sooner or later. When Daniel can't be with you, is it not okay for me to accompany you?"

Maisie remained silent for a moment. In fact, she didn't have a negative impression of Camila, so she didn't raise her guard around her. Although the things Camila had said last time had made her uncomfortable, as she had just mentioned, they would be family sooner or later. Besides, Camila had probably heard those things from others...

Maisie looked at the blue sky. It felt like she had been cooped up at home for a long time.

"Let's go out!" Camila seized the opportunity. "I know Daniel will get off work in the afternoon. I'll keep you company in the morning and hand you over to him in the afternoon!

"Perhaps going out for a walk will give you some writing ideas? Besides, I also want to discuss the final draft with you."

Upon hearing this, Maisie nodded. "Alright, where should we meet?"
