Chapter 31

Brielle

Today was the day when my fiancé was getting married to his first love. I didn’t know why, but this was painful for me. Not the fact that he was getting married to someone else, but the fact that he was doing this to hurt and insult me, and to some extent, it was going to work.

So, I prepared myself for everything.

I looked at myself in the mirror. Though it was Raya and Tristan getting married, I chose to take revenge on them by wearing a S**y white gown. The sheer thigh-split of the gown nearly reached my belly button, and it was undeniably S**y, and the all-over illusion lace made it look like all the guests would stare right through to my skin. Thankfully, there was a nude lining. I wasn’t dressed like a slut. It was just that my dress just screamed at me.

I matched my dress with the nude heels and kept a side bun hairstyle.

Wearing white into someone else’s marriage meant you were stealing attention or trying to upstage the bride in some way. I wore this seductive gown to make a statement that even though they were getting married, I would steal the show.

I could feel people’s eyes on me the moment I made an entry alone. I didn’t care about their looks because I wasn’t a woman who wanted a man, but I was a woman whom a man wanted.

I looked around and saw Zera walking towards me with a smirk playing on her l*ps.

“I can’t help but wonder: how can someone wake up only to choose war on a daily basis?”

“That is because life is a war. The reality is that nob*dy has my back, and everyone is waiting for my failure. It’s all up to me.”

“You’re something. Brielle.” She chuckled, passing me the drink in her hand, which I denied. The last time I was drunk. I found myself n*ked beside Ezekiel. Not that I regretted it, but I didn’t want history to repeat itself. If I were having S**, then I wanted to be in my full consciousness. “By the way, I’m positive that someone has your back and he doesn’t want you to fail.”

I didn’t react and acted like I didn’t understand the meaning behind her words.

“Don’t you know that you shouldn’t be wearing white at someone else’s wedding?” Luna Opal hissed at the moment, and I joined them to greet them.

“No. I didn’t,” I said, faking my innocence, to which she fumed in anger. Tristan or Ezekiel would be my fate, and in both cases, she would be my mother-in-law.

I felt bad for myself, but there was nothing I could do about it.

“Don’t waste your time on her. Opal,” Luna Kali said before adding, “It’s my beautiful niece and your gorgeous son’s wedding. Hearing this, I rolled my eyes and looked around, only to find Tristan’s eyes on me and Ezekiel standing behind him as his brother’s best man.

I glared at him for breaking my trust. I would never forgive him for that. I looked away, not giving him my attention, and talked with Zera instead.

Ezekiel told me that she was not everyone’s type of person, which was kind of cool.

“So, do you have a boyfriend?” I asked her. She nodded her head, sipping wine from her glass.

He is my little secret because we aren’t mates, and I know someday, just like you, I would be arranged with someone for pack benefit” She smiled, and I grinned even though I felt bad for her. “That’s why I’m learning from the best because I deot know what kind of asshole he would be.

Chapter 31

A the best.” I winked at her instead of showing my sympathy. Life was a war, and she had to fight her own fight when the

time came.

“What about you? Are you his mate?” I remembered Ezekiel telling me that Zera didn’t know about it.

“I don’t have my wolf, remember? I can’t sense my mate,” I answered the safe answer. But still, for some reason, I could feel that whenever he touched me.

“I think you’re their mate,” My head turned towards her so fast that even if it had broken, I wouldn’t have complained.

“Their mate?”

“Don’t tell me that you aren’t aware of the fact that in 99% of cases, the werewolves or Lycan that share their mother’s wombs together also share their mate together.”

I didn’t know how to react to this. Yes, I was aware of this fact, but it never crossed my mind until now. But then, I never felt any type of bond with Tristan yet. So, there could be a chance that I might land in the remaining 1% case, right?

At the same time, the bride walked down the aisle, holding her father’s arms. I had no idea what would be my destiny the day after tomorrow, the day I was supposed to marry Tristan. I looked at him and found him staring into my eyes instead of his bride, who was walking down to him. I felt bad for Raya; she didn’t deserve this.

Even though I was here to steal the show, any woman deserved her man’s attention, to whom she was getting married. I stopped myself from smiling when I saw Raya’s eyes on me.

Imagine getting a reaction from the bride when she was walking down the aisle. Both the bride and groom were looking at

LOL.

Soon, Raya’s gaze returned to Tristan.

“Alpha Tristan…” Raya’s father called him to get his attention for him and his daughter. Tristan didn’t move an inch on the stage to receive his bride.

Asshole.

“I’m sure she can walk near me on her own.” Tristan blurted, embarrassing both father and daughter. It was Raya’s day, a day that she wanted to rub at my face by getting married to Tristan first, but it looked like the table had taken a 180-degree turn

I watched them getting married to one another and tried to feel anything that could prove that Tristan could be my mate. but all I felt was anger, hatred, and a desire to kick his ass.

“You can now mark each other,” My heartbeat quickened when I heard this. They were going to just marry, right? I had mixed emotions about this news. A part of me wanted him to mark Raya and regret all his life, but then a good part of me didn’t want a lifelong punishment for him.

Rejecting a mate would be painful for him.

I watched Raya arch her n*eck so that Tristan could mark her.

“We’re not marking each other,” Tristan announced, embarrassing Raya again. And her beetroot face was worth watching. She had embarrassed me in front of the family members, and Tristan took revenge by embarrassing her in front of all the

guests.

Karma.

“I should have brought popcorn.” Zera said, chuckling. “Never mind, your wedding is in two days. I’ll bring popcorn to your wedding

I bet there would be more drama at my wedding

Soon, gusts started congratulating them one by one. Even I did when they reached us. Raya had wrapped her hand around Pristan, showing off that they were tharried now.

Congratulations to both of you,” I said.

“Feeling bad, huh? You got engaged to him first, but married me first?” That witch dared to insult me again. She hadn’t learned her lesson until now.

“I’m indeed feeling bad, but not for myself but for you. Even though you’re the bride, the guests, and your husband are more interested in staring at me than at you” I winked at her and left from there, giving her a flying k*ss.

I made sure not to look at Ezekiel, not when I knew Tristan’s whole attention was on me.

After getting bored at the party, I excused myself and left the party. I hated how big this whole mansion was because, even after walking continuously for the last twenty minutes, I hadn’t reached my room

I turned around and looked behind me, feeling someone following me. The guards in the mansion were too few, as most of them were busy protecting the guests and any unannounced attacks from enemies. I removed my pendant from my n*eck to stay prepared, as I didn’t have my dagger with me.

When I finally reached my room. I wasn’t surprised to see that it wasn’t guarded. The moment I locked the door behind me, I felt someone’s presence behind me. I happily turned around, thinking that person was Ezekiel, only to see Jameson.

“Bri.”

I didn’t know how to react. The last time I saw him, I was pissed at him, but now I was scared for his life.
