Why am I getting cold?

“Achoo!” I sneezed. I was surprised when a hand landed on my forehead.

"Leena, you have a fever!" I looked at Joaquin as my forehead furrowed.

"Why do I have a fever? Strange." I'm surprised because I don’t get sick easily. That's weird.

I pushed his hand away. "I don't have a fever, okay? That's so impossible because I've never had a fever before." I smirked and stood up, a little dizzy. Am I really sick?

I frowned. Sigh…

Where are Luna and Bryle? They’ve been gone for hours. It's now close to midnight. I went to the balcony and saw it was raining cats and dogs. Is there a storm?

Looking down below, my forehead furrowed when I noticed someone on the swing, soaking wet from the rain, and looking lifeless.

Is that Bryle?

My heart suddenly pounded in anxiousness. I immediately went down the stairs and headed to the garden where I saw Bryle drenched in the rain, somewhat looking lost. Where is Luna? Sh*t, I'm nervous.

"Bryle!" I shouted, but he seemed to hear nothing. I had no choice but to succumb to the rain.

I shook his shoulder as I approached him.

"Bryle! Why are you here alone in the rain? Where's Luna?" I ask as my lips trembled.

"Luna..." he uttered while shivering in the cold.

"Yes, Luna, my twin sister. Where is she? Aren't you two together?" He looked at me and I was surprised to see the sadness and guilt in his eyes. He seemed remorseful.

"Aish, I’m so stupid. So stupid!" he muttered frustratedly and brushed his hair.

"Bryle, what happened?" I say seriously because it looks like something bad has happened.

All of a sudden, the rain stopped and then it surprised me when something dripped on my face and many more followed.

Snow? Oh no…

"Let's talk inside and I want an explanation of what happened, Bryle," I said with a grim expression and pulled him out of the swing. Tsk. He's like a broken man.

When we got inside, I pushed him onto the couch.

"Bryle! Leena? Or Luna?" the entire squad shouted as they looked at us. Joaquin approached me with a worried expression.

I ignored the group but turned to face Bryle.

"Bryle, what really happened? Where is my twin?" I said as my nerves got the best of me.

Tears streamed down his face and groaned helplessly.

"Luna… she misunderstood what I said," he began.

"She asked me if I like her then... then..."

"Then what?" I said impatiently as I held back myself shaking his shoulders. We all looked at him and waited for an answer anxiously.

"Then I said I didn't like her because—"

"What?!" we all reacted in disbelief. Well, it's very plain as day that he likes my twin and then he says that he doesn't like Luna? What in the world?

"How dare you say that to Luna?!" Cathy fumed and was about to kick Bryle when Claire stopped her.

"Hey! You got it wrong... because I haven't finished speaking yet! That! That's Luna's reaction too! Damn, I don't like her because I love her, okay?! You all didn’t let me finish talking and jump to a conclusion!" he said frustratedly and facepalmed. Then he got up and ran outside.

I stopped running and thought of a way. My face lit up when an idea popped into my head. I will use our sister's bond. If she was near the town, I could feel her presence.

Then I closed my eyes and felt the whole surroundings as I activated my spiritual energy to track her.

I smiled and sigh in relief when I found her. Hence, I immediately teleported to her location. She is on the top of the hill overlooking the whole town and palace. How did she find this place? The view is fantastic.

I ran anxiously when I saw her lying in the snow while unconscious.

"Luna!" I touched her cheek, and she was so cold. She was also soaking wet from the rain.

"Woah, I didn't know you'd be like this when you're brokenhearted," I uttered with a sigh.

"Leena... you found me," she murmured weakly and smiled.

Silly, Luna.

I just smiled at her and carried her in my arms. Ugh, she’s heavy! I immediately teleported to our room in the palace. Then I quickly cleaned her and changed her wet dress. And because I was also wet, of course, I also changed.

I covered her with a thick blanket and kissed her on the forehead. I let out a sigh and walked out of the room.

"Leena!" Alesia bumped into me in the hallway.

I give her a small smile. "She's resting in the bedroom now. Don’t worry, she’s fine." I said, and she sighs in relief. She went inside the room and I walked to the lounge to inform the others.

Fortunately, the celebration is over. And everyone is gone so we are the only ones left now.

I told the whole group that I found Luna and they all sighed in relief.

They really care for my sister.

However, Bryle and Joaquin are still outside.

The boys decided to look for Bryle and I will look for Joaquin.

I ran closer when I saw a silhouette walking at a distance. It's getting cold because of the thick snow.

When I recognized the person, I smiled and sigh in relief.

"Joaquin!" he turned around, and I saw the concern on his face.

"Leena!" He immediately approached me and to my surprise, he hugged me tightly which caught me off guard. I gasped in shock.

"Are you okay? I was worried when I couldn’t find you. Did you already find Luna?" he asked as he pulled away from the hug. He even holds my face while scanning me if I’m hurt or not. His hand was icy but my face instantly burned from embarrassment.

Too close. He is too close!

I, on the other hand, was still dumbfounded at his sudden gestures and couldn’t utter a word out of shock.

Can I turn back the time when he hugged me? I felt like the hug was too short.

This is the first time he hugged me.

After some time, I snapped out of my daze when I saw him flash a smile. "Ah, yes, I'm fine! I already found Luna, and she's resting in the palace now." I said while staring back at him. My heart pounded loudly in my chest like a drum. He still didn’t take his hand away from my face. I think I’m going to faint.

"That’s a relief."

I nodded absentmindedly.

To my surprise, he pulled his hands away from my face and held my hand instead. He smiled and pulled me away with him.

I just followed him while looking at our hands clasped together. Ahh! I’m going to die!

I feel so comfortable as our hands fit each other like it’s meant to be.

He suddenly stopped, so I bumped into his back.

"Ouch!" I pouted while rubbing my nose.

He laughed and pulled me close to him, which made me feel better. I’m on cloud nine!

We continued walking, and we noticed other people were still awake. They looked excited as they stared at the snow.

Other children are playing in the snow. It doesn’t matter even if it’s late at night. It was as if it was their first time seeing snow as traces of amazement plastered on their faces.

They smiled when they saw me so I returned them with a warm smile.

I remember when Luna and I were young. We played snowball every time Moondrous snowed.

We always play in the snow every chance we get. I just smiled at the memories of yesterday.

I miss those days...

“A penny for your thoughts…” Joaquin uttered and poke my nose. I giggled and ran away; I stopped and formed a snowball then threw them at Joaquin.

His eyes widened and laughed as he dodge my sneak attack. He chased after me and also formed a snowball to throw at me. We were laughing and playing snowballs with each other until we reached the palace.

Before I entered my room, I stole a kiss on Joaquin’s cheeks and left him outside with a dumbfounded look. Haha, it’s payback time for holding my face earlier without permission. I chuckled and blushed.
