Chapter 53 

When Mayson heard Quinton’s attitude toward Carol, he could not help but stretch out his leg to kick him. 

Whoever dared to bully his Carol, Mayson would not let him off even if he was his biological father! 

He would hit him the same! 

Caroline pulled Mayson back in time. She gestured for her son to go inside and play for a while. Then she walked over and said, “I’ve been busy today. It’s my fault, but I’m not going to change!” 

Quintin was speechless. 

Caroline could feel the coldness and anger emanating from the man. His anger toward her might have reached the max. “Are you hungry? Do you want to eat my cooking? Just wait!” said Caroline. 

Caroline had heard from Susan that the man had been starved for two meals and would not eat until she came home to cook for him. 

“Who wants to eat the food you made?” 

Quintin still had an unquenchable anger in his stomach. He refused to eat, but his stomach was honest. At this moment, it let out a gurgling protest. 

“You’re already staved, and why aren’t you eating? If the word gets out, people will think I’m abusing you! Leo, come on. Go downstairs with Mommy.” 

Caroline called Mayson out before she went to cook. Otherwise, she was afraid that Mayson would not be able to help but beat his father up. 

The little boy was super protective of his mother. He would definitely do it! 

It took Caroline an hour to prepare dinner. She brought it up and took care of Quintin to eat. 

She made a lot of food, and she and her son ate aside together. 

Quintin had been hungry for two meals. Now that he smelled the fragrance of the food, he could not help but swallow his saliva. Caroline handed him the bowl and fork. “I’ll help you pick up some food. Eat by yourself!” she said. 

However, the man did not move. “How do you want me to eat it? Can I see it?” 

His underlying meaning was that he wouldn’t eat it himself! 

He wanted Caroline to feed him! 

Caroline didn’t have any temper and started to feed him. 

After finishing a bowl of food, Quintin wanted another one. Caroline advised, “It’s already ten o’clock in the evening. You’d better not overeat, or you’ll gain weight!” 

How could he gain weight? 

Quintin said, “I’ve missed two meals, and you won’t let me eat enough. Why are you so cruel? Do you want to starve me to 

death?” 

Quintin suddenly grabbed Caroline and pulled her toward him as he said fiercely. 

Caroline was holding a bowl in her hand when Quintin suddenly pulled her. She fell before him, and her nose touched his firm chest. 

She was so shocked that she shrank back. She instinctively wanted to keep a safe distance from him. “Okay, I’ll get you some food. Wait!” 

Hence, Caroline added another bowl of mashed potatoes. Quintin was afraid that she would not let him eat this time. He snatched the cutlery and started to eat. Soon, he finished the second bowl of food. 

After two bowls of food, Quintin felt his stomach was much more comfortable. Even his anger seemed to have been suppressed after eating. 

“I want coffee!” 

After the meal, he made another request. Caroline made him a cup of coffee. 

After finishing his coffee, he said, “I want to go for a walk! You push me!” 

Caroline reminded her son before pushing the wheelchair out. When they reached the handrail on the second floor, Caroline said, “It’s not easy for you to go down in a wheelchair. There’s no elevator in the house. I’ll get someone to help.” 

“Who are you calling? Can’t you carry me down on your back?” 

Quintin wanted to set her up and make her suffer a little. Who made the woman act superior and like a bully?

“Okay, I’ll carry you on my back!” said Caroline. 

Caroline bent down before him and squatted down slightly. Quintin reached out and touched her back. 

Suddenly, Caroline felt two restless hands and stood up subconsciously. “Why are you touching me? You can’t take advantage of me like this, okay?” said Caroline, displeased. 

Quintin sneered. “I can’t see. How would I know where your back is if I don’t touch you?” 

Caroline silently rolled her eyes and took a deep breath. She could only endure it and bend down again. 

The man touched her for a while before grabbing her neck. Caroline pulled him up and carried him on her back. 

However, it only lasted for two seconds before she threw him down. “You are even heavier than a pig. Forget it. I’ll call someone over!” said Caroline. 

“Ouch…” 

Quintin fell to the ground. Although his leg was no longer a problem, he gritted his teeth in pain when he hit something sharp. 

By the time he wanted to complain, Caroline had called in two servants. The servants ran over and helped Quintin back into his wheelchair. They carried him down with the wheelchair. 

Caroline followed them downstairs. After thanking the two servants, she pushed him out the door. 

Quintin’s face turned dark, darker than the night outside. He had wanted to trick her, but she tricked him. 

The woman must be trying to get back at him! 

There were lights everywhere in the garden outside, and the night scenery looked beautiful. 

Caroline pushed Quintin along the path. When she did not speak. Quintin muttered, “Hey! What are you doing?” 

“Walking” 

“Let me ask you a question. How many men do you have outside there?”

He wouldn’t care about her life or death if it weren’t for that agreement!

All Quintin wanted was to get well quickly and divorce her soon. She could find whoever she wanted. 

Unknowingly, they reached the depths of the backyard. In front of them was a small detached building. Caroline thought of the woman’s cries and asked, “Quintin, do you know who lives in the detached building in your backyard?” 

“No one lives there. That building was abandoned many years ago.” 

According to Quintin’s understanding, a servant hung to death in that detached building and died many years ago. Ever since then, no one had entered.

“I know a little.”

“I know. But I’m just curious about the secrets of the Ziegler family. For example, why did your mother disappear eighteen years ago? Where did she go?
