Chapter 40 

“Is this all Samuel’s shady dealings? Good! It is just in timel” she thought. 

Although she had no idea who sent her the messages, they did come in time. 

“Samuel, just wait! We’ll see who will be the one kneeling and lowering their heads!” she sneered inwardly. 

Meanwhile, the patriarch, Samuel, his wife, his son, and the rest of the Queen residence were waiting in the main house at the Queen residence. 

They were all waiting for Caroline, the woman who married into the Ziegler family, to come and apologize to them. 

Yasmin got dressed. She thought they would record Caroline while apologizing to her and post it on the internet, so she put up an intimidating front as the lady of the family. 

Yasmin checked the time and questioned. “Why is Caroline not here yet? She’s coming or not?” 

There was a mustache above Samuel’s lips. He was sitting on a single couch, seeming like an official as he said, “I’ve put a lot of pressure on the Ziegler family. She would come!” 

The butler uttered, “Let me go to the door now to see if she’s here.” 

Not long after the butler left, he returned with Caroline alongside him. 

“She’s here!” someone shouted. 

Yasmin looked at the woman who had just walked in. The latter was wearing sunglasses, and her hands were in the pockets of her trousers, looking cold and domineering. 

She didn’t seem like she was there to make an apology. She looked more like she was collecting bills instead. 

When Caroline went inside, Yasmin touched her face subconsciously as if she could still feel the pain in her cheek. 

Samuel, who had only seen Caroline’s side profile in the videotape on the news but was not aware of her appearance, was taken aback when a tall woman dressed in black walked in. 

“Is that Caroline?” Samuel asked subconsciously. 

He uttered to himself, “That woman has a nice figure!” 

When Yasmin saw her enemy, she said fiercely. “That’s her! That’s Caroline!” 

At that time, the butler had taken Caroline into the main living room of the Queen residence. Sh

When Samuel took a closer look at her face, the cup of tea he was holding had tipped over. He then scalded his leg without feeling any pain. 

His gaze was fixed on the woman’s face. That woman was really a knockout! 

Her facial features were breathtaking, especially the coolness that hung over her. It was simply stunning. 

Samuel wondered, “What kind of good luck did Quintin have by finding such a beautiful woman that could bring him good fortune?” 

Speaking from a man’s perspective, he was beginning to feel envy. 

He even thought to himself that if that woman had come to him last night to intercede, perhaps he would have promised to let her go for the sake of her beauty. 

“Chief Queen, Mrs. Queen, I hope it’s not too late for me to come now!” Caroline spoke coldly. She had arrived there just on 

time. 

Yasmin stood up with a grudging expression on her face. “Caroline, yesterday you slapped me and disgraced me publicly. Today, I want you to kneel and apologize to me publicly, or this wouldn’t be over!” 

Caroline swept a glance at the crowd around her. Many of the Queen residence members were there for the show. Some of the men were eyeing her with unkind glances. 

“She wants me to kneel and apologize in front of all these people?” she thought. 

“You want to make me kneel and apologize? It’s impossible!” Caroline straightened her back and showed no compunction. 

“Caroline, what do you mean? Didn’t you promise to come and apologize? Now what? You’re going to go back on your word?” Yasmin asked aggressively. 

Caroline snuffled and shouted sternly, “Is it my fault that you and your son got off on the wrong foot first? Is it my fault for hitting you? Did you tell Chief Queen the whole truth?” 

Caroline questioned Samuel, “Chief Queen, you must think I hit her first and created an issue without having a valid reason.

However, if you had known how they insulted a five–year–old child, would you still make me apologize?” 

Samuel also stood up. “For whatever reason, it’s not right to hit my wife! As long as you apologize, I’ll make you walk away. Do you want me to be rough on you?” 

“Chief Queen, you are a powerful man, and you’ve already attacked the Ziegler family. You also caused their stock price to drop. Why would you do that? It’s a feud between Mrs. Queen and me. Is there any reason to get the Ziegler family’s company involved?” Caroline was undaunted in the face of the Queen residence. 

There was a lot of chatter and finger–pointing from the members of the Queen residence around her. They felt that Caroline didn’t show any sign of remorse. It seemed like she didn’t want to admit that she was wrong. 

Clearly, she was there to pick a fight! 

Yasmin roared, “Honey, don’t talk nonsense with her. That bitch just beat me up and refuses to apologize. I think she should be sent to the police and put in jail!” 

Samuel stared at Caroline without speaking a word. He thought it was a shame for such a beautiful woman to be put in jail. 

“I’m not so sure who’s actually going to prison!” Caroline added. “Chief Queen, I’d like to speak privately with you for a 

moment!” 

“Caroline, what are you up to? Alone with my husband? Are you trying to flirt with him? You vixen! Stop dreaming!” Yasmin was so furious that she raised her hand, trying to slap Caroline in the face. 

However, Caroline grabbed her wrist and glared at her. “You can only become a vixen when you have what it takes to be one. It’s not like everyone can be one. But Mrs. Queen, you do have a way of imagination. Why don’t you write a screenplay instead?” 

Caroline pushed Yasmin’s hand away with a snort. 

Yasmin thought that Caroline had gone too far. They were at the Queen residence then, yet the latter was still so arrogant. The former figured that she had to teach Caroline a lesson to restrict that woman. 

“Somebody! Arrest this woman!” Yasmin gave the order, and all the servants of the Queen residence rushed over to arrest Caroline. 

As Caroline had predicted, she gyrated and kicked away each of them who was coming at her. Her swift action left everybody’s jaw dropped. 

A few more people charged at her. Caroline gave them a few consecutive kicks at their heads, instantly knocking them to the ground. 

Finally, she stepped on the head of one of the servants and said sternly. “I don’t want to hurt anyone. Don’t make me!” 

Her voice was cold and heavy. It didn’t look like a joke! 

Yasmin was looking terribly pale at the moment. Everyone began to treat Caroline differently then. 

None of them would have thought that she could fight. 

Samuel, who was also a little shocked, had a glimmer of interest in his eyes as he ordered the servants. “Retreat, all of you!” 

The servants arose from the ground and ran frantically out of the way. Caroline stood still until the last servant left. 

Samuel looked at Caroline again and said, “If you’ve got something to say to me, say it right here, Ms. Lewis!” 

“Chief Queen, do you really want to listen to it here? I’m talking about something that happened ten years ago on June 22…” 

Samuel’s face, which originally remained calm as usual, suddenly convulsed with a trace of shock after he heard Caroline’s talk about the matter that happened on June 22, ten years ago.
