Chapter 31 

Soon, David came out of the house. He caught a glimpse of Caroline in the doorway but kept walking and went straight downstairs. 

Caroline went back to her room and saw Quintin in a fury. He tried to smash something again, but there was nothing around him, so he pounded the bed with rage. 

Caroline had no idea that the relationship between the father and son was problematic. No wonder David only came to see 

his son now. 

She came up to him and said, “What’s wrong with you, Quintin? What makes you hate your father so much? Because he got you a stepmother and gave birth to a little brother and sister?” 

“Shut up!” Quintin growled, unwilling to say anything to her. 

Caroline stopped asking, although she already had a rough idea of what happened 18 years ago. 

According to her investigation, David’s first wife disappeared 18 years ago. “Was it because of that?” Caroline thought to herself. 

She wondered what happened 18 years ago that led to the disappearance of Quintin’s mother. 

Caroline did not bother Quintin anymore, leaving him to sulk upstairs while she played soccer with her son downstairs. 

It was getting dark. Caroline specially made Quintin dinner. However, after an argument with his father, Quintin would not say a word, talk to anyone or even eat. 

She reckoned that this man had a foul temper. 

Nevertheless, she did not force him to eat. Anyway, he would give in soon enough once he got hungry. 

After having dinner, Caroline was going to take an early bath so that she could have more time to talk to her son. But she was invited by Michael to the main house once again. 

She roughly knew that it was probably because of Yasmin. 

Caroline walked out, leaving her son to fend for himself in the master bedroom. 

After she left, Quintin then recovered from his earlier quarrel with his father. He called Susan, “Susan, what’s going on? Why is Michael looking for Caroline?” 

“I heard it’s all about Mrs. Ziegler…” 

“What Mrs. Ziegler? There’s no Mrs. Ziegler here!” 

Quintin refused to recognize Caroline as his wife, so Susan had to change how she addressed her. “Because Ms. Lewis hit Mrs. Queen today.” 

“She hit Mrs. Queen? Chief Queen’s wife?” 

Quintin could not imagine what kind of woman Caroline was. She was a woman who was prone to fighting. He reckoned that she had a tendency for violence. 

“Sounds like it. Now someone from the Queen residence is here.” 

“Is this woman prone to violence? She’s always out causing trouble. How dare she hit the wife of Chief Queen?” 

Quintin was so surprised. “What kind of woman would dare to mess with Mrs. Queen?” he asked himself. 

Susan did not answer Leon came running up and snapped his daddy on the forehead. 

This was Leon’s unique way of communicating with Quintin. He knew it was his son because of that little tap. 

“Leo? What’s up? Why are you hitting me?” 

Leon could not speak, so he hit Quintin again. 

What Leo meant to say was that his daddy was such a silly man. Quintin knew nothing. He did not know that his son was being bullied and that Caroline was protecting him. 

Those bad guys were meant to be beaten up. 

“You little brat!” 

Quintin was irritated a bit as he was hit a few times by his son. He mumbled, “Don’t hit people like that woman. She’s a bad influence!” 

Lean was enraged by this remark. He turned his head and ignored him while folding his tiny arms. 

That woman was his mommy, and he did not want to hear his daddy say such a thing about her.

Chapter 31 

Leon was a little worried about his mommy being bullied, so he ran out in his slippers. Susan found out and ran after him. “Oli, Leon, where are your going now?” 

They were gone, and Quintin did not know what was going on. He could only call Flynn by pressing a beeper on his wrist. “Go to the main house and see what’s going on. Tell the Queen residence not to cross the line!” 

If he was able to move, he would surely go and see for himself. 

Meanwhile, the main living room of the Ziegler residence was ablaze with light. 

Caroline followed Michael here to see that there were a lot of people in the house. 

There was the Ziegler family, Catherine, David, Carmen and her husband, as well as Hector and his son Benjamin. Jennifer and Roxanne were also present while Savannah stayed as well, waiting to see what was going to happen. 

There were a few more strangers. Needless to say, the way they were dressed suggested that they represented the Queen residence. 

Michael reported, “Mrs. Ziegler, Mr. David, Mr. Hector, Mr. Benjamin, and Mrs. Ziegler are here.” 

Caroline walked in, and all eyes were on her. 

Benjamin was the first to get up. “Caroline, you’ve gone too far this time. How can you beat Mrs. Queen? Is there something you can’t say properly? Do you know how nasty this situation is?” 

Benjamin was very angry. It was because Quinton Corporation was waiting for Samuel to approve a large project. He was supposed to meet with Samuel for dinner this evening, but Samuel refused on the phone and spoke angrily. 

Benjamin only found out about it when he asked, and it was Caroline who was to blame for offending Yasmin. 

Carmen added, “Yes, this incident has been shared on the internet. It’s on the news. It’s now widely known that the young lady of the Ziegler family is always on her high horses that she even beats people in public.” 

“I’ve already said that I’m the one who did this, and I’ll take all the responsibility. Why are you calling me here now?” Caroline asked. 

“We didn’t ask you to come. It’s the Queen residence!” Carmen warned. 

Caroline turned to a group of strangers, led by a middle–aged man. The man was arrogant as he said, “Mrs. Ziegler, Mr. David, and Mr. Hector, Mrs. Queen is the victim of today’s incident. She has been very traumatized, both physically and mentally. What we’re saying is that if Caroline comes to the Queen residence and apologizes to Mrs. Queen personally before twelve o’clock tomorrow, then we’ll let it slip. If not, the Queen residence will not let it go! We’re ready for legal 

action!” 

At twelve o’clock tomorrow? It was a deadline that Caroline had given Yasmin, and now they were making her apologize instead. 

Catherine was still on Caroline’s side. “Mrs. Queen is partly to blame for this situation as well. Let’s just forget about this. incident! No one should look into it anymore! For the sake of the friendship between the Ziegler family and the Queen 

residence!” 

“This isn’t going to be that easy, Mrs. Ziegler, or we wouldn’t be here today. Do you want Caroline to apologize tomorrow, or do you want to involve the Ziegler family’s business as well? That’s all from me. Do consider it again!“, 

The butler spoke rudely and left with his people. Before leaving, he glanced coldly at Caroline as if warning her. 

Caroline knew that she would be humiliated a lot if she apologized. 

Savannah looked at Caroline. She mocked in her heart, “Humph, let’s see how Caroline is going to deal with this. At the end of the day, she still had to kneel before Mrs. Queen like a dog and beg for mercy tomorrow.”
