Chapter 79

Chapter 79 

What kind of a father ignores his own child and then shows up looking for her and yelling at the nurse? It just doesn’t make any sense at all! 

But since she’s a trained nurse, she did not give Ray a piece of her mind. After all, she could very well get fired if he comes to 

know of this. 

Ray sighed and tried his best to look remorseful. 

“Maybe you’re right. I’ve been really busy with work lately and I haven’t had much time to visit her. But still, I’m really worried about her. Can you at least tell me when she left?” Ray asked. He knows that Michael and Miles probably took her. He was just trying to figure out what exactly they were thinking doing this. 

The nurse shook her head. Even if she did know where his daughter is right now, she won’t tell. Such a father….his daughter must be all too happy to get rid of him. 

I’m afraid I can’t disclose that information sir. But I can give you her doctor’s contact information. You can call him and ask about your daughter’s condition and whereabouts” the nurse said. 

Ray shook his head and turned to leave. He already knows where she is, he just did not know if Micheal and Miles will let him see her. After things went down the way it did a few days ago when he met the both of them, they must not want to see him anymore. 

But he has to go. He has to swallow his pride and go see them for the sake of his daughter. He can’t let anything happen to Kayla. She is the daughter that he has invested the most in anyway 

Ray arrived at Micheal and Miles house a few hours later. 

He was immediately let in. The guards still knew him as the beta of the former Alpha so they did not try to stop him. 

He immediately marched into the living room, he saw Jenna and Alexia sitting in the living room. The both of them were laughing about something that he didn’t quite hear. 

Ray stomped his foot and marched all over to Alexia. 

“Just what the hell is the meaning of this Alexia? How can you just get yourself discharged from the hospital without telling me about it? Do you know how worried I was when l’arrived at the hospital and you weren’t there? I thought that something had happened to you!” Ray said. It’s important for Alexia to stay healthy at this point. If something happens to her, he knows that Micheal and Miles won’t let Kayla go. 

Alexia stood up to face her father. She felt guilty since she won’t be going back home with him. “Dad….” She called out softly. 

“Dad? Do you still consider me your father? I highly doubt that! I think that you don’t consider me your father anymore! Do you think that you can do whatever you want just because you are the Alphas mate now? Kayla was their mate for a long time and she didn’t act like this! She still respected me as her father! This is why Kayla will always be better than you!” Ray said. 

Alexia felt a sharp pain in her heart when she heard this. She thought that she should already be used to the way her father treats her at this point but she wasn’t used to it. All her life, she has been compared to Kayla every time, having to hear her father tell her that Kayla is better than her, even though Kayla is a bully and a horrible she wolf. 

“L…I was going to tell you” Alexia said’in a shar voice. 

“Was? Well why didn’t you? Kayla wouldn’t have left the hospital without telling me about it! Why can’t you learn from her?” 

The two of them talk for a few more minutes, catching up on family news and discussing Kayla’s plans for the future. As the visit comes to an end, Ray hugs his daughter one more time and tells her to stay strong. 

Kayla watches as her father walks out of the visitor’s area, feeling grateful for his support but still angry about having to apologize to her sister. She knows that it’s the only way she’ll be able to leave jail, but she can’t help feeling resentful about it. At the same time, she also knows that she needs to take responsibility for her actions and make things right with her sister if she wants to get out of jail and have a good life. It’s a difficult lesson, but one that she’s determined to learn. 

But anyway, she won’t be putting up this show for long. Alexia will soon be dead. 

Immediately Ray finished meeting with Kayla, he rushed to the hospital to see Alexia. He wanted her to get his daughter out of jail as soon as possible. 

Somewhere, deep down in his heart, he knows that what he is doing to Alexia is unfair and that he should not be treating her like this but he could not help himself. He badly wants to see Kayla out of jail. 

He was met with the shock of his life though when he entered the hospital and Alexia was no longer there. Instead, he saw a nurse clearing out the room. 

“Excuse me, can you tell me where my daughter is? I came to visit her and I can’t seem to find her in her room” Ray said politely to the nurse. 

I’m sorry sir, but your daughter has already been discharged. She’s not here anymore” the nurse said. She gave Ray a blank look. Ever since the patient who used this bed was here, she had never seen this man come visit. 

“What do you mean she’s been discharged? Why didn’t anyone inform me about this? This is ridiculous!” ray said. He was fuming with anger. Alexia is his daughter after all. How dare they keep this from him? 

The nurse frowned but she was trained not to be rude. 

I’m sorry sir, but we can only inform the authorized persons about the patient’s discharge. Maybe your daughter forgot to inform you?” She asked. She really doubted this too. 

“That’s not possible. I talked to her yesterday and she didn’t mention anything about being discharged. This is unacceptable. I demand to know where she is right now” Ray said. Of course this was a lie. He didn’t talk to his daughter at all. But he can’t let this nurse know otherwise. 

“Sir, please calm down. It’s not my fault that your daughter didn’t inform you about her discharge. And I must say, you’ve never visited your daughter in the hospital before, have you?” The nurse asked with a polite smile on her face. 

“That’s none of your business!” Ray said while fuming. 

I’m sorry sir, I didn’t mean to offend you. I’m just saying that maybe if you had visited your daughter more often, you would have known about her discharge. The nurse said. She was trying hard to hold back her anger at this point, trying not to lose control.

Jenna could not stand Ray anymore. She had kept quiet because she wanted to see how Alexia will deal with her father but obviously. Alexia still cares way too much about her family. She won’t dare to say a single harsh word back to her father. 

“Kayla will tell him before she leaves the hospital because he cares about h You will be involved with Kayla if she is the one in the hospital right now. You won’t leave so other wolves can take care of her. You care about Kayla, but you don’t care about Alexia, so don’t try to play the blame game here! When have you ever treated Alexia as your daughter? When have you never given Kayla every single thing that she wants even if you have to take it away from Alexia? Don’t you know very well. how you treat your two daughters? How dare you require the same treatment from them when you don’t treat them the same?” Jenna asked. 

She was boiling in anger now. In her opinion, Alexia was already doing way too much by agreeing to forgive Kayla so she can get out of jail. If it were up to her, Kayla will be spending the rest of her pathetic life in a jail. She won’t pity her at all! 

Ray frowned at Jenna. He could bear with it if Micheal and Miles talk to him however they want, since they are the Alphas anyway. But he couldn’t stand a young she wolf scolding him. Even if she is Micheal and Miles sister. 

She is just a she wolf who will be mated to someone and leave the palace anyway. Where did she get the guts to talk back to him? 

“Miss Jenna, this is between me and my daughter and it frankly doesn’t have anything to do with you. Besides, where are your manners? I know that your father was a good Alpha and a good father. He must have taught you how to respect the elders of the pack before he died. Have you forgotten all about his teachings now that he’s no longer here? Or did your brothers pamper you so much that you don’t even know right from wrong any more?” Ray asked rudely. 

Jenna’s face went red in embarrassment and anger. She was so annoyed that she wanted to kick this man out of her house! 

“My father taught me to respect elders who do what is right, not elders who neglect one of their kids and then demand the world from them!” Jenna said. 

“You…! How can you be so rude? I can assure you that you won’t find a mate with this attitude! Even if you did, he’ll reject you immediately. There’s no wolf alive who will put up with this attitude!” Ray said. 

“I don’t need you to comment on my mating status! Besides, I’m not Alexia. I’m not your daughter who loves her family more than she loves her life. I won’t sit back and watch you bully her! My brothers were the ones who did not want you to know, they are the ones who wanted her to come live with us here! Whatever plans you have of using her, you had better drop them now! She’s already doing the most by getting Kayla out of jail! Leave her alone from now on!” Jenna said.
