Chapter 43 

“Your brother does all of that because he loves you dearly! You need to know that it’s because he doesn’t want you to get hurt!” Mathew said. 

“No! He’s doing all of this because he wants to watch me! He just wants to watch every single thing that I do! It’s never because he really cares about me! I know that!” Acella said. 

Axiel has never really cared about her that much. She is just a burden that he needs to take care of after their parents died. How can he actually understand what she’s feeling inside and even care about her? 

She always felt like she was the one who trappeil herself in this palace all her life. She finally realized that even if she didn’t. trap herself, her so–called big brother will still find a way to do that to her. 

“Miss Acella…..” 

Just then, the both of them saw Axiel walking towards them. Their argument had attracted quite a lot of attention and obviously, someone already told Axiel about it. 

“Mathew, Acella, what is going on here?” Axiel asked. 

Acella snorted and looked away. She doesn’t know if this person is her brother or if he’s her lifelong 

nemesis. 

“Your Highness, Miss Acella, wants to go out. I told her that she can’t go out on her own and that I’ll have to follow her but she wants to leave on her own” Mathew said. He wasn’t worried. He knows that Axiel will never make the mistake of letting Acella run off on her own. 

Axiel sighed On 

one hand, he was happy that Acella is no longer insisting on shutting out the rest of the world from her life. 

On the other hand, he was worried. Judging from her past record, he knows that he can’t let her be on her own. That will be dangerous and extremely stupid. 

He is now responsible for Acella and he will do anything to protect her. Even if that means that he has to protect her from herself. 

“Acella, you know that you can’t leave on your own. It’s not like I’m trying to restrict your freedom or keep you locked in here forever but you need to know that you have a past–track record. Acella, no matter how much you try to deny it yourself, you know that you are not alright. You also know that you need help. I won’t try to force you to get help. But I can’t let you go off on your own. I’ll be worried. Please let Mathew go with you. He’s not going to interfere in whatever you do as long as you don’t hurt yourself!” Axiel said. 

“And what exactly constitutes as hurting myself? What can I do that you will see as hurting myself? Don’t think that I don’t know that you just want to control all aspects of my life!” Acella said. She will never accept whatever Axiel is telling her. 

He’s not doing it for her! He’s doing it for himself! For his own peace of mind!

“Acella! How can you say that?! As long as you’re not bringing physical harm to yourself, I can assure you that Mathew won’t get involved in whatever it is that you want to do today! Besides, don’t think I’ve forgotten about what happened that day. just because I didn’t bring it up! Do you even know how scared I was?! I entered your room and I saw you….I saw you soaking in the bathtub! You were going to drown yourself! Do you really think that I’ll feel fine if something happens to you?” 

Mathew asked. 

Does his own sister really think so poorly of him? 

Acella on her part was starting to get frustrated too. “How many times do I have to say it to you? I wasn’t trying to hurt myself or anything like that, that day! I just fell asleep there! Do you really have such little faith in me?” Acella asked. 

“You want to know the truth Acella? Then fine! Yes! Yes, I have such little faith in you! And that is because I don’t know you at all! You are right! I never really took the time to get to you Acella and that is my fault! Thi 

is why I’m working hard to get to know you. Because you are my sister. No matter what you think Acella, you are my sister, I love you and I want to be a part of your life! 

I understand that this will be a long process and I don’t have any intentions of forcing you to open up to me when you don’t want to do that just yet. I’m fine with that! But before I get to know you and we start to trust each other, I have to make sure that you don’t do something stupid. Something that will hurt me and you for life! So you won’t be leaving this house without Mathew!” Axiel said firmly. 

Acella stomped her foot on the ground angrily. She wanted to turn back into her room and slam the door on their faces but she thought better of it. 

She’ll only be hurting herself this way. Axiel and Mathew are going to carry on with their day like nothing happened at all. 

Left with no choice, Acella decided to go with Mathew. She’ll be stuck in the house as always if she doesn’t go with him anyway, so it’s a case of the lesser evil. 

Besides, Acella thought to herself that she can always find a way to ditch Mathew when they are alone. He won’t even know that she is gone at all! 

“Fine! Since you want me to go with him, I’ll go with him!” Acella said. 

Axiel sighed. This is a compromise. But at least they are getting somewhere. 

Although his relationship with Acella is still stiff, she’s actually starting to open up to others and wants to leave the house. This is actually a good development. 

Axiel returned to the living room after Acella was gone. His Beta. Logan, was waiting for him when he

Axiel and Logan have been friends for a long time way before Axiel became the Alpha so the both of them have a good relationship with each other. 

Axiel sighed. Acella is really proving to be a handful. It’s so difficult to handle her.

“So what’s the big deal? Aren’t you happy that she’s finally stopped trying to live her life like an old woman and is starting to act like wolves of her age? You know that you can’t baby her forever, right? She has to grow up at some point. What do do when she finally gets mated? Logan asked Axiel. 

Axiel frowned. He hasn’t really thought about this before. 

He never thought about what it would feel like if his sister gets mated to someone else. 

Will some other wolf be willing to put up with her in the condition that she’s in right now? 

Speaking of mates, Axiel suddenly thought of Jenna. How is she doing now?
