Her eyes narrowed, teeth clenched, Tessa hissed, "She's as good as dead."

"Tessa, what's your plan?" Lauren's face showed a mix of concern and confusion.

"Don't play the fool. Mitchel's fond of Raegan now. If you cross her, you're the one who'll pay the price."

Lauren's words only fanned the flames of Tessa's anger.
