“Ms. Lenoir, you seem to be heartbroken. I have to admit, I’m curious. Which

man in this world could be so fortunate yet foolish enough to not appreciate

the love you shower upon him?” Hubert deliberately poked the barely

weeping dragon.

“This… It’s none of your business!” Claudette had no favorable impression of

him and intended to leave immediately.

However, Hubert blocked her path and persisted, his voice brimming with

intrigue, “Ms. Lenoir, allow me to be candid, I have developed feelings for

Mackenzie, while you fancy Emmanuel, am I correct? Why don’t we join forces

and devise a plan to separate them?”

She trembled and said, “I… I’m not interested.”

“Haha…” Hubert chuckled, thoroughly amused by Claudette’s trembling state

and finding it difficult to contain himself. “If you were truly disinterested, you

wouldn’t still be here with me, would you? I know you’re a well–bred princess

who wishes to avoid any wrongdoing, but pursuing your own love, how can

that be considered wrong?” 

Claudette bit her lip lightly. She couldn’t deny that she agreed with his words.

Her aunt, Laura, who happened to be Hubert’s aunt as well, had also

imparted the same advice to her. Everyone had the right to pursue love, so

she patiently awaited the inevitable breakup between Emmanuel and

Mackenzie. Although she was vehement in her verbal claims of disinterest,

her body betrayed her true feelings, revealing her true thoughts on the

matter.

“We have organized a certain outdoor activity in our circle, located at the

foothills of Flower Mountain. The scenery there is incredibly beautiful, a

sacred place for lovers.”

“I had initially thought of inviting Mackenzie, but I am certain she would refuse

if I approached her directly. However, if you were to extend the invitation, the

chances of success would be significantly higher.” Hubert explained the

intricacies of the plan to Claudette.

It turned out they were just creating an opportunity for her to take Emmanuel

away, and then he would spend time alone with Mackenzie.

It didn’t seem like a bad idea.

Claudette also knew what kind of person Hubert was, and it did seem as 

though he would be capable enough to pull off such a simple plan.

“Well, I will give it a try. Besides, I am also interested in experiencing the

beautiful scenery and finding some relaxation.” Claudette agreed as she

made her way back to the banquet.

The atmosphere of the wedding reception was lively, so no one noticed when

she had even left the premises.

Claudette was still thinking about how to bring up the topic when the bride

and groom came to their table.

Emmanuel and Terence had drunk quite a bit of alcohol. They had been

talking a lot today and he reminded Jaxton to treat Roselynn well.

“Oh. By the way, Roselynn, do you have any plans for your honeymoon?” At

that moment, Claudette suddenly interjected.

Jaxton’s expression immediately soured. He was the general manager of the

family business and was usually very busy, so he hadn’t made any plans to

take Roselynn on a honeymoon.

“Well. We have plans, but we haven’t arranged them in detail yet.” Roselynn

quickly intervened to resolve the situation for Jaxton.

wonderful honeymoon!” Claudette seized the moment, her voice brimming

with enthusiasm. As she spoke, Roselynn’s attention immediately shifted to

Jaxton.

“Of course, that sounds great!” Jaxton hastily agreed, fearing any

disappointment from Roselynn and the potential displeasure of Emmanuel

and Terence.

“Mhm, how about you, Emmanuel? Would you and Miss Quillen like to join us?” 

Claudette extended another inviting smile toward Emmanuel and Mackenzie.

Mackenzie’s gaze turned vigilant as she couldn’t shake off the nagging

feeling that this young Ms. Lenoir harbored ulterior motives. Could it be that

she has not given up on pursuing my husband yet?

To think that this young Ms. Lenoir has such audacity! With her striking looks 

and prestigious background, Ms. Lenoir could easily attract any man she

desired. Why is she insistent on stealing my husband away?

“Absolutely! You have to go!” Terence interjected, keenly observing the

interaction between Emmanuel and Mackenzie. When he noticed the

questioning glances exchanged between the couple, Terence immediately

prompted impatiently when none of them bothered to respond to

Claudette’s suggestion. Thus, he stepped in and accepted the invitation on

their behalf.

“Oh, Manny. I just realized that you haven’t taken my granddaughter on a

honeymoon yet!”
