To put it simply, for regular employees who still had aspirations to climb the corporate ladder, this was a once-in-a- lifetime opportunity. However, for someone at a managerial level like her, it was rather disappointing. 

She already had an annual salary of several hundred thousand dollars. A commission of 1 million was tempting, but it wasn’t a game-changer for her.
