Chapter 2

The room’s lighting cast a warm glow, highlighting the man’s strikingly handsome features. He seemed like one of those good-looking guys you see in movies, impeccably dressed in a finely tailored shirt that subtly accentuated his well-defined muscles. Winston Nielsen’s eyes held a deep, unfathomable chill. His grandmother’s determined and stubborn voice echoed in his mind: “Winston, you must marry Eileen. In the Nielsen family, she’s the only one I acknowledge as my granddaughter-in-law.”

But at this moment, Winston’s mind was preoccupied with the silhouette of another woman-the one he had possessed frantically in the darkness. That night, having consumed the wrong drink and with blurred consciousness, he only remembered her beneath him, her broken so bs, and her desperate pleas.

Afterward, he had handed his watch to her before passing out..

He had been looking for her for five years since then. Just last week, he learned that the watch from that night had been sold on the second-hand market. Meanwhile, his grandmother was insisting that he marry another woman.

His phone rang again, and he answered, “Hello!”

“Mr. Nielsen, we’ve found the girl. Her name is Belen Lawrence, and it was indeed she who sold your watch.”

“Give me her address. I’ll go to see her,” Winston said, a flicker of excitement in his eyes. The mysterious woman from that night had finally surfaced, and he was determined to find her.

To compensate for the debt he owed from that night.

Belen had taken over a women’s clothing store a year ago, but business had been tough lately. Struggling to pay the rent, she had resorted to various means to raise funds. Finally, she decided to sell a watch she had-not knowing it would fetch 80 thousand dollars. It was an unexpected windfall, making her ecstatic.

The watch wasn’t even hers. Five years ago, the club had contacted her, saying they found a watch in the suite she had booked and asked her to come and get it. Realizing that it was a high-end men’s watch, she didn’t hesitate to take it.

It had sat in her drawer for five years before she decided to sell it last week, never expecting that an old watch would bring her 80 thousand dollars.

Staring joyfully at the transfer amount on her phone, she thought she could splurge for a while longer.

Suddenly…

The door to her shop was pushed open. She quickly stood up to greet them. “Hi, what can 1…”

But her words trailed off in shock.

The man who entered was tall and strikingly handsome, exuding an aura of nobility with every move.

Belen was utterly taken aback, stuttering, “Sir, what… what can I do for you?”

Her store was for women’s fashion, yet here was a man in a top-tier designer suit, clearly not a typical shopper. The man, almost six-foot-two, emanated an intimidating presence.

“Are you Belen Lawrence?” Winston’s eyes narrowed as he locked onto her, desperately searching for traces of the woman from five years ago.

“I… I am! And you are…” Belen stammered under his intense gaze.

Winston pulled out a watch from his pocket and handed it to her, asking in a deep voice, “Has this watch been with you all along?”

Belen glanced at the watch in his hand, shrinking back a bit in fear and blinking guiltily. “Yes, that watch is… mine.”

“Were you the woman in room 808 at the Polar Night Clubhouse five years ago?” Winston stared at the girl in front of him, his heart sk ip ping a beat. ‘Was it really her that night?”

Belen’s mind raced back to that night five years ago in room 808. She thought. ‘Wasn’t that the room I had booked in order to set up Eileen? Why did he ask about it?”

Without much thought, she boldly stated, “Of course it was me.”

“Keep this watch safe and don’t sell it again. I will compensate you for what happened that night,” Winston said, placing the watch in her hand. “Remember my name, I’m Winston Nielsen.”

Belen looked up in shock, thinking, “Winston Nielsen, the heir to the Nielsen Group?”

“You… you’re Winston Nielsen?” She almost fainted from all the excitement.

A man beside him handed her a business card, saying, “Ms. Lawrence, this is Mr. Nielsen’s card. If you ever face any trouble, feel free to reach out to him.”

Belen, trembling, took the gold card, her eyes widening at the striking name. She thought, ‘Could it be that the man in the suite with Eileen that night wasn’t the male prostitute we arranged, but this strikingly handsome heir of the Nielsen family?’

She immediately grabbed Winston’s arm, feigning tears and distress. “Winston, you have to take responsibility for what happened. Do you know how hurt I was after that night?” She lowered her head as tears streamed down her face, pretending to be the real victim.

At that moment, her mind was only full of one thing: To replace Eileen as the victim of that night, to make Winston take responsibility, to reap many benefits, and ideally, to marry this man and become Mrs. Nielsen.

“Don’t worry, I’ll compensate you. The man’s deep, magnetic voice was filled with at reassuring power.

Winston’s assistant, Konnor Scott, added, “Ms. Lawrence, Mr. Nielsen has arranged a villa for you. You can move in anytime, and he will take care of all your future needs.”

When she heard that, her eyes lit up, and she nearly fainted from joy at the prospect of a life of luxury and wealth.

“I have other matters to attend to, so I must go now,” Winston said, giving Belen one last deep look before turning to leave.

Belen, holding the watch, burst into tears of excitement. “I’m going to be rich! I’m going

to be rich!”

In her heart, she spitefully cursed Eileen, wishing her dead so Eileen would not be able to get in the way of her future life with Winston.

Inside the understated yet luxurious car, Winston rested with his eyes closed, thinking, ‘Is Belen really the woman from five years ago? Why do I feel that something is different about her? Or has she changed in these five years?”

The afterglow filtered in through the car window, casting shadows on his chiseled, handsome face, making him look like a priceless piece of art, flawless in every way.

He was the undisputed heir of the Nielsen Group. In the five years since he took over the family business, he had multiplied its market value several times over, catapulting it to the top of global rankings.

That night five years ago was the only lapse in his life. Drugged by his adversaries who wanted to tarnish his reputation, he had stumbled into that suite. At the peak of the drug’s effect, a woman had appeared and resolved his predicament.

He had always carried guilt for ruining a girl’s virginity.

He was certain that she was a virgin because, when he woke up, he saw traces of blood on the sofa under the light.

Recalling the chaotic scene in the suite, he no longer dwelled on his impressions of Belen. He felt a responsibility to take care of her.

In an apartment abroad…

Eileen was on the phone. “Okay, I’ll be back in the country in three days at the latest to prepare for the competition.”

“Mommy, are we going back?” A little boy emerged from behind her, clad in a blue checkered shirt and denim shorts, his delicate features beautiful and childlike. At just four years old, he already exuded an incomparable aristocratic air.

Eileen smiled and nodded. “Would you like to go back with Mommy?”
