In the spacious living room, Kevin sat on the couch, playing with Felix. Beside 

him, Tania naturally leaned against Kevin’s side.

This scene reminded me of the time many years ago when we first had Tim. 

It was a picture–perfect moment, just like the one before me now, with the 

husband and wife in harmony, the child looking adorable, and everything 

filled with warmth and joy. 

The medicine bowl in my hand fell to the ground with a crash, shattering into 

pieces. 

All three people on the couch turned to look at me. Tania reacted swiftly and 

quickly got up, rushing toward me. “Mrs. Diaz, why did you get down? I was 

just about to get the bowl. Please don’t move. You might step on the broken.

I was left speechless. How had this family become so harmonious, almost as 

if it were a normal scene? 

Kevin also carried Felix and rushed toward me. “Danielle, don’t move! Tania, 

what are you waiting for? Hurry and clean up over there!” At this moment, his 

expression was filled with urgency as he instructed Tania in a stern voice. His 

eyes were fixed on the broken shards on the floor, afraid they might hurt me. 

Had I just seen things wrongly, or had their interactions become so casual 

over time? 

Tania brought a broom to clean up the shards while constantly apologizing

and appearing very humble. 

I stood there petrified, processing the scene I had just witnessed. It wasn’t 

until she had cleared the bowl fragments and Kevin embraced me that I 

snapped back to reality, staring at him in a daze. 

All the urgency and dependence I had felt to see him just moments ago had 

turned into nothingness. What remained was a single question–shouldn’t 

they give me an explanation? 

Kevin held me in his arms before passing Felix to Tania. Felix’s tender little 

hands immediately clung to her neck and rubbed against her face. 

I pushed Kevin away and took the child from Tania’s arms, silently cursing her 

in my heart. This is my child, not some tool for you to use!

Tania froze for a moment and wore an embarrassed expression. “Mrs. Diaz, I…” 

Her expression was full of innocence, but I wanted nothing more than to slap 

her. However, when I looked at the child in my arms, I held back, telling myself 

to stay calm. “Go prepare dinner!” I instructed Tania coldly. Then, she quickly 

turned and went to the kitchen. 

After that, I looked at Kevin with a sly look and asked, “Darling, are you still 

going to the exhibition this afternoon? Didn’t you say you’d only be back in the 

evening?” 

Kevin, seemingly unconcerned, hadn’t paid any special attention to Tania the 

entire time. He held me and sat on the couch. 

Did he not notice Tania’s closeness just now? Or had he unconsciously 

mistaken her for me?

He ignored my scrutiny and replied calmly, “Yes, I’m going back. I just wanted 

to drop by and see you for a moment and have a meal together, but when I

His explanation sounded reasonable, and he didn’t mention what had just 

happened. It was as if nothing had occurred. 

Was I being overly dramatic, or had this “closeness” become a regular 

occurrence during my unconsciousness? 

Felix struggled in my arms, reaching out to Kevin and calling out “Mommy“. 

Kevin reached out to take him and said, “Let me hold him. He’s quite heavy 

now.” 

I felt uncomfortable. He was calling Tania “Mommy” now.

This child was no longer close to me at all. Ever since I gave birth to him, I fell 

ill. 

I had been sleeping heavily, and when I woke up, I felt groggy and powerless 

to take care of him. As such, Tania had been looking after the child since his 

birth.

After I got sick, Jessie was sent to a prestigious school, which was completely 

closed off. He was only brought back on Saturdays. 

Mark was taken care of by his grandmother, and only Felix was still with us. 

I stared blankly at Kevin and the child before suddenly realizing a problem. 

Did Tania tamper with my medicine back then? 

What did she want to do? It was one thing to have her eye on my husband,

but did she also want to steal my children? 

This woman was too terrifying; I was absolutely horrified by the thought. 

No. She couldn’t stay. I couldn’t give her any more chances to continue 

harming this family. 

With these thoughts in mind, I brought my attention back and looked at 

Kevin, who was completely absorbed in showering affection on Felix, who 

was in his arms. His love for Felix was evident in his every gesture.

I felt guilty as I watched the interaction between father and son. How could I 

possibly let such a husband be tainted by a nanny? 

However, Tania’s intentions were already clear, and this matter needed to be 

resolved as soon as possible to minimize the damage.

With my decision made, I wanted to test Kevin a little, so I began by saying,
