Zia pushed the trolley as she checked the list of the things she needed to buy. Truly, Clay and Brody were the greatest eaters in the house. Half of the things on the list were theirs. She shook her head and dumped a few things into the trolley. She stared at the trolley things; how many cereals brands did Clay and Brody need to eat daily? There were ten boxes of various brands of cereals.

“Pig,” she said to no one.

She kept on looking for the things on the list until she found a young girl jumping to get the chocolate from the tallest shelf.

“Here, let me get it for you,” Zia said, going after the chocolate bar and gave it to her.

She shot the biggest grin a person could gather. “Many thanks to you, ma’am! I’m Jain.”

“Zia. Pleasant to meet you, Jain. Are you here all alone? Where are your parents?”

Jain glanced around and waved to somebody. “Jaxon!”

Zia pursued the wild waves of the young girl towards a man she could group as Adonis himself. His brownish hair came to his shoulders coordinated with the short facial hair around his jaw, making him significantly more provocative than other men in the store. Zia’s eyes trailed down to his superbly molded body as if the God had spent a lifetime to make him. With the blend of dark Sabbath’s shirt with denim jeans and boots, he appeared somebody who left the fashion show wearing the clothes he modeled for.

Zia realized at the likeness between Jain and the man named Jaxon. Was this young lady his little girl? They looked similar.

“Peanut, I let you know not to run like that,” He grunted in his deep voice.

Something about his voice was sending shivers down Zia’s body as though her body had lost its function and would just work under his commands. The minute their eyes met, it felt like they were off to a place alone, with no one else was there with them. The entire world quit turning, and Zia felt nausea. She needed to look away, feeling herself losing the strength to stand on her own.

“Whoa.” Jaxon got her by her arms.

Something wasn’t right about his skin contact. What was going on? She never felt like this, as if his hands intended to touch her body. Brody never made her as alive as this man was making her. Also, that didn’t bode well since they had recently met.

“Are you okay?”

Concern plastered everywhere all over his face, and she felt relieved to see that.

What was happening to her? She didn’t know him. For what reason would she feel better, he thought about her?

Zia nodded. “Must be something I had for breakfast.” She pulled her arms from his grasp. “Thanks.”

“You looked like you would blackout in any minute,” Jaxon said before he turned to Jain. “Peanut, why don’t you bring your friend to wait in the car?”

“No, I’m fine,” Zia protested.

“Come, Zia. Just agree to it. He could get persuasive.”

“All right.”

Jaxon grabbed the list from her hand. “Are these all the things you need?” She nodded before he ushered her away with Jain. “Wait in the car. I’ll get your things.”

Without many choices, Zia let the young girl pulled her away. She glanced over her shoulder to see Jaxon as he pushed both trolleys and gathered the things she needed. Not even once an outsider did this for her. Not to mention completing her shopping list for her. If she requested that Brody or Clay to do the shopping, they would forget half of the things.

Jain led her to the four-by-four black truck before she unlocked the door for them to hop in. Joshua used to caution her about getting into a stranger’s car, yet here she was, inside the vehicle of a man she scarcely knew with somebody who resembled his female version.

“Water?” Jain snatched the unopened water bottle from the compartment.

“No, Jain. I’m okay.” Zia shook her head. “Is he your father?”

Jain sat down at the space between the driver’s seat and the front seat. “No, he’s my older brother.”

“Wow,” Zia dazed.

The hereditary between those two was uncanny. Zia was confident that Jain was joking about Jaxon being her older sibling rather than her father. However, Zia looked into the hazel eyes of hers. There was not a chance this young girl was kidding to the hottest man in the history of hot men was her older brother.

“Many people think he’s my daddy,” Jain clarified with dimples appeared on her cheeks. “Possibly because he’s older than me.”

“How old is old?”

“He’s 30. I’m 10.”

“He’s 30?!”

How did somebody at that age could look so overpowering and hot in such a basic style? Zia blinked over and over. No, she mustn’t think along these lines. She had a boyfriend. She shouldn’t take a glimpse at another man while she was with another person.

From the corner of her eyes, she saw Jaxon came out of the mart with two trolleys. His muscles bulged, calling for her as he guided both trolleys to his truck. Damn, this man was delicious and out of her league. She swore she could spend twenty-four-seven licking his muscles because of how sexy he was.

Zia came out, and her legs almost gave up on her again. Damn, her body. Why was her body clumsy right now?

“Are you certain you’re in a condition to drive?” he asked when she left his vehicle. “I could drop you off at your home.”

“No,” Zia protested. “I could drive.”

“Where’s your car?” Jaxon asked as he stacked his stuff into the back of his truck.

“It’s there.” She pointed to the red Range Rover, which was around three vehicles away from his.

Supporting tight lips, he nodded and pushed the second trolley to her vehicle. Zia opened it and helped him to stack her stuff in.

“Um, do you have the receipt? I could pay for the stuff.”

Jaxon didn’t answer her question and opened the driver’s door for her. “Get in.”

Seeing she didn’t move from her spot, he walked towards her and carried her in his arms, making Zia yelped in surprise. He placed her in the driver’s seat and started the engine for her. She froze when he affixed the safety belt for her. Having him close, Zia could smell his cologne. It made her addicted to it. Her heart was racing against her ribcage, and her stomach filled with butterflies.

“Drive safely, beautiful.” He stroked her cheek delicately before he shut the door.

She would crash the vehicle into the store.
