Katana
Chapter 6

Two days passed quickly, but Katana was already starting to get her strength back. Troy came back to the barracks at the end of the day to talk about what was happening outside. Apparently, the Alpha King was getting anxious and needed reinforcements sooner than he expected. Kieran had to make a decision and sent some of his troops over to help in area 151.

The war between vampires and werewolves has been happening for so long that it was becoming a blur. There were periods where they all will go years without any wars, but just recently, vampires have begun attacking small towns and villages. It risked exposure of Katana’s kind.

A part of Katana was afraid of what will happen as she gets pushed out to the front lines. Will Kieran be there? Will she die? Will she go alone? She had so many questions, but it only meant she had so much work to do.

Katana got up from her bed and shuffled through her drawers for a pair of army khaki pants, undergarments, her chest wrap, and an army green t-shirt. She usually takes a shower late at night after everyone has taken one and fallen asleep, but today in particular, she wanted to hit the showers before everyone else came barreling in. They were due to train for another hour. It will give her enough time to shower and get ready for dinner.

She headed into the bathroom after finding her outfit and began removing her clothes. The bathroom was a room that was connected to all the barracks through doors that opened to an extended hallway, then to the bathroom. Everyone shared it. After she finished, she removed her wrap and carefully folded them, before placing them in the corner of the sink counter. She padded naked with a towel wrapped around her to the shower room.

The shower was basically a room with showerheads poking out of walls. There was literally no privacy. She couldn’t understand why the Alpha King couldn’t spend an extra few thousands to build a wall around each individual showerhead. Isn’t privacy a thing anymore? They are werewolves, but that doesn’t mean they have to act like showing skin is completely normal. They still have to act civil.

She turned on the showerhead and the cool water hit her skin. She gasped softly before the warm water flowed down. She sighed and tilted her head up to the water, allowing the water to soothingly run down her dry skin.

She turned around and wet her hair, making sure to thoroughly rinse it before grabbing her soap and began massaging it into her scalp. Closing her eyes as she worked her fingers into her hair, she was so concentrated on the clean feeling when she heard laughter and men talking loudly.

Her eyes opened, but the soap ran into her eyes.

“Ow!” She squeaked before washing her hair like a mad woman and shutting off the shower.

She quickly padded her way towards her towel that was hanging on a wall and pulled it down. She wrapped the towel just in time around her body. Glancing down, she made sure her boobs weren’t poking out enough for everyone to see. She hopped like a mad woman towards her clothes and clutched them to her chest as the first flood of male bodies came in.

Isaac looked at her in surprise. “Hey Kenneth. You feeling better, man?”

“Yes.” Katana stuttered and scooted closer to the sink.

“Excellent! You showered already? Ah man, c’mere, let me hug you. Get all my sweat on you! It is only fair since you missed out for two whole fvcking days.” Isaac teased as he sauntered over. She glanced behind to see if Troy was anywhere near them. The room became louder as it filled with more male bodies. Panic rose inside of her and when she saw Isaac coming for her, she ducked under him. Turning around to see him chuckling.

“Dude, seriously! It’s just a bro hug!” He laughed.

“Yeah, well the thing is, I am done taking a shower. Your sweat can stay on your body.” Katana replied.

“Sharing is caring, Kenneth.” Isaac chided playfully.

He came at Katana and she let out a squeak and jumped out of the way. Her body collided with a hard body. Her hand could feel tingles running all over her body. A shudder ran through her body at the direct contact of naked skin. Her eyes widened and she looked up to see Kieran’s eyes glowing as he looked down at her, with a hunger that made her stomach twist into crazy knots and her core clenching in response.

She swallowed hard. “Sorry.”

Kieran was breathing heavily as he closed his eyes tightly. She removed her body from his with reluctance and gave them enough room to breathe. Isaac looked worried as he saw that Kieran was now in the room. Troy came sauntering in and when he saw Kieran glaring at Isaac with so much fury, he quickly ran like lightning to Katana’s side.

“What the hell is going on?” Troy whispered.

“It’s nothing. I’ll handle it.” Katana whispered back.

Luckily, the people in the room were moving around like nothing was happening. Isaac squirmed in his spot and Katana moved to stand in front of Isaac.

“What the hell do you think you are doing?” Kieran growled at Katana. He didn’t like that Katana was shielding another man.

“Isaac was just fooling around. I wasn’t being harassed.” She mumbled.

“Yeah, right! I saw the whole thing. He was harassing you alright.” Kieran snarled and took an intimidating step forward.

Katana placed a hand on Kieran’s chest to stop him from attacking Isaac.

“Please. He wasn’t doing anything. Don’t do this.” She whispered so only both of them can hear.

He looked down at her hand. It had a calming effect on both of them. His jaw ticked and he looked up and behind Katana.

“Don’t you ever do that again to Kenneth or I will rip your throat apart.” He growled. Katana grabbed a hold of Kieran’s wrist and dragged the towering man out of the room. They were now safely in an empty locker room.

He had his back turned to her. He was wearing only his army pants. He was completely shirtless and she could see every muscle outlining his back as he paced back and forth in the room. The man was built out of rocks, Katana was sure of it. How else can she explain his hard body? She clutched her clothes and towel closer to her body.

Sweat beaded down his back and she watched it trail down his body.

“Kieran.” She said huskily.

He stopped midstride to look at her. His eyes were glowing brightly again. She swallowed hard as she felt the air around her begin to thin. It was thick with unspoken desire. Their wolves were fighting to surface.

“I have to go.” She whispered softly.

He closed his eyes tightly. “I think it’s best.”

She didn’t move. She continued to stare at him. “He didn’t mean me harm.”

Kieran’s lips pursed in anger. “He was going to touch you! Naked!”

“But I am a boy.” She pointed out. “Isaac doesn’t like boys.”

“That doesn’t matter! You are mine!” He growled angrily. His eyes opened again, flashing his amber gold eyes that were glowing brightly in anger.

He took two steps and stood in front of her. His face held a crazy look to it as he sought to place a physical meaning behind his proclamation. He placed a hand behind her head and crushed his lips onto hers.

Call her fvcking crazy, but she melted immediately into his body. She clutched her clothes tighter between them, preventing him from feeling her woman parts.

Goddess, she didn’t know he would kiss her. She thought about many other things he would do, but kissing?

Did he realize he was kissing a boy – well, a boy that is a girl? He bit her lower lip gently between his teeth before sucking on it softly, but just as swiftly as it came, it was gone. Her toes curled and heart jumped out of her chest at all the sudden feelings and emotions she felt with just her mate’s kiss. However, he ended it so soon. She almost whimpered at the loss of his lips.

“You are mine, Kenneth.” He growled before disappearing in front of her. She didn’t know what to say. Two days ago he said he didn’t know what he wanted. That Katana should give him time, which she thought was the reason why he stayed away for those two days.

But...

What the heck just happened? What did he really mean when he said Katana was his? Did he really mean it, or was it just his wolf? She was confused. Her mate confuses her to no end but again, she can’t blame him.

After all, she was girl pretending to be a boy.
