Everything happened in a matter of seconds. Adele was suddenly pushed towards a nearby tree with great force, and Samara choked her neck, intending to kill her. ” I have been waiting for three years to kill you.”

Adele’s eyes turned snow-white, and she smirked at Samara. " Not so fast, bitch.” Alexa’s nails turned into claws, and she sliced Samara on her stomach with her claws.

Samara flinched in pain and loosened her hold on Alexa, and before Samara could react, she was kicked hard, sending her flying across the forest.

Chris and Liam were now beside Adele and were relieved to see her eyes were snow-white which indicated her wolf was back.

" Alexa, it’s you?” Liam asked, hopefully.

Alexa didn’t respond as she was lost looking around the forest, which she loved so much and missed for the past three years.

" I am so happy to have you back, Al!! ” Adele exclaimed in happiness. ” ...but I think you can enjoy the view later; we have work to do now.”

" Yeah... right.”

Samara had already got up and tried to attack Alexa again but was stopped by Chris and Liam, who were now fighting with her.

Alexa rushed towards Axel and her parents and hugged them.

" I missed you,” Ariel said in tears.

" I missed you too, Mom,” Alexa said, feeling choked up. She then faced Axel and said, " Take everyone and go back to the packhouse and stay with the kids. I will meet you there.”

" But what about you and Samara...?” Axel asked, worried.

" We will handle it,” Alexa said, pointing at Chris and Liam. " I have known Samara for a while now, and she often uses our weakness against us. I think it’s better if only the three of us stay here so that we wouldn’t be worried about others’ safety.”

Axel seemed to have realized Alexa’s point and agreed with her. ” Will you be safe?”

" Yes, Bro,” Adele replied with determination. “Now that I am united with Alexa, I won’t lose her again.”

" It’s me who wouldn’t go back to that hellish place again, ” Alexa sneered, taking the control back from Adele.

Once the others were gone, Alexa spoke to Chris and Liam through mind-link. " We can defeat Samara only if we fight together.”

“Of course, ” Chris’s wolf Conan said hurriedly as he didn’t want Alexa to think he was still against her. Now that their mate was back, Chris and Liam’s wolves had also taken control.

Conan, Lex, and Alexa tried to attack Samara at once, but they were all thrown away by a force field. " She has a protective shield across her,” Lex said, wincing in pain.

" Be careful!” Alexa yelled and pushed Lex aside when a fireball came flying towards him. A fireball hit Conan on his chest, and he fell to the ground, groaning. Samara was continuously attacking them using her powers, and they tried to shield themselves from her attacks.

" You think you are a great witch...,” Alexa screamed at Samara. “...then why are you hiding behind a protective shield?”

" Your tricks won’t work on me. Do you think I am a fool who will lose my guard after your mockery?” Samara smirked.

" This is not working,” Adele said, dodging an attack.

" We must defeat her using her own trick.”

" How?”

" We must use her weakness against her. Samara’s greatest strength is her mind, through which she controls her power, so we need to distract her,” Alexa stated and thought of a plan.

" Ahhh...I should have guessed,” she smirked, looking at Samara.

" What do you mean?” Samara asked, raising her eyebrow.

" For a while, I had forgotten what a coward you are. I can still recall how scared you were by my threats while in the moonstone.”

" Shut up, you insolent mutt,” Samara roared.

" You want to conquer the World when you are nothing but a parasite who depends on her followers and hides behind a shield. Alone, you are totally worthless,” Alexa mocked.

" How dare you say that?” Samara was trembling in rage, and her concentration seemed to falter.

" What use is all this power? Look around you; do you see anyone standing beside you? Today, even if you die, there won’t be a single person who would shed a tear at your death, though I am sure thousands would be rejoicing.”

Samara was so furious she continuously attacked Alexa one after another, throwing fireballs at her while Adele took control over her body and managed to dodge it, thanks to her training. ” You are so pathetic that even the person you loved rejected you,” Adele added.

Samara’s anger diverted her concentration on trying to maintain the protective shield around her. Her mind was all over the place. She was taken back to the time thousand years ago when Jared, the person she loved, rejected her for another woman. Her fury burst like Lava, and she pounced on Adele, but Conan stopped her by punching her on her face.

" We must confuse her. Let’s attack her by alternatively shifting from wolf to human and vice versa so that she wouldn’t know who and what attacked her,” Adele suggested.

“Yes, that’s the best way,” Conan replied and shifted into his black wolf and bit Samara on her leg. Samara howled in pain but still managed to send Conan flying in the air through her powers. Then Liam continuously hit Samara on the same leg that Conan had bitten, making her fall down.

Samara raised him above the ground and tried to choke him up, but Alexa shifted into her snow-white wolf and kicked Samara on her stomach, breaking her concentration again. Samara tried to build her shield again, but she didn’t get a chance because Alexa had shifted back to human, pulled Samara’s hair, and smashed her head three times on a nearby tree.” Take that, you witch.”

Chris, Liam, Adele, and their wolves were on a roll. If one were down, the other would get up. Their movements were so smooth and agile that Samara found it hard to target them.

Samara used her powers and instilled a few injuries on all three, but she was not at her best as she found it hard to concentrate. Whenever she tried to attack one of the three, they suddenly transformed and vanished from sight. Being a witch, physical strength was never her forte; she was utterly dependent on the usage of her powers through her mental ability, and that was her weakness, of which Alexa took great advantage.

The fight went on for nearly an hour, and everyone was exhausted and injured. Apart from minor cuts, bruises, and burns all over their body, Chris had severely burnt his chest, Liam’s left wrist was broken, and Adele had a nasty gash on her stomach, which was profusely bleeding. Samara was not physically hurt as she didn’t need to touch anyone to fight.

" You rest for a while, ” Chris said to Adele in concern. ” We will fight with her.”

" Resting now means giving her a chance to kill,” Adele muttered, wincing in pain. Chris picked up his shirt, which was ripped off when he transformed and tied it around Adele’s naked stomach. They then heard Lex cry out and stood up again.

“We have been only defending ourselves till now. It’s time we attack and

send her back into the moonstone. She cannot handle pain well, so make sure to physically injure her,” Alexa said to Chris and Lex through mind-link. " Stay in your human form but use your claws too. And... where’s the stone?”

" I have it here,” Chris said, handing the stone to Alexa.

“Lets’ attack from different directions,” Alexa screamed and pounced towards Samara.

Conan and Lex attacked Samara from the left and right while Alexa assaulted Samara from the front. They rained punches and kicks at Samara from all directions, not even giving her a moment to think. Lex sliced Samara on her back while Conan twisted her leg, breaking it instantly.

The severe pain running through Samara’s body caused her to fall down. Alexa took the opportunity and pounced on her. " Come on,” she signaled to Conan and Lex, and together they held the moonstone and chanted the spell that Sybil had taught them. Samara used her powers to push Alexa away, but Conan and Lex broke her arms at the same time, making her howl in agony.

Alexa got up and raced towards Samara. They started chanting the spell again and saw Samara slowly turning into a cloud of black smoke and eventually getting trapped inside the moonstone.

Alexa rested on the ground feeling exhausted and breathing heavily, Conan and Lex lying down right beside her. After resting for a while, Liam got up and fetched the clothes he had brought. Once everyone got dressed, Chris hugged Liam and smiled, ” We did it.”

" Yes,” Liam smiled back, relieved. They both stared at Adele, whose back was turned towards them.

“You were awesome!” Chris exclaimed in excitement and hugged Adele without thinking. Conan took control of Chris and whispered with tears in his eyes, " I am sorry, Alexa, I am sorry for not trusting you back then.”

Adele stood still without replying or breaking from the hug. " We have been apart for three years. Now that everything is fine, we should get back together and stay as a happy family.”

" Happy family?” Alexa scoffed. She lifted her right leg and kneed Conan in between his legs. He bowled over in pain, and Liam held him before he could fall.

“Stay in a dark and rotten place, without food and fresh air, with an evil witch for three years, and then you can talk to me about being together,” she growled and raced towards the Silverlake pack, shifting into her wolf while leaving Chris and Liam dumbfounded.
