It was celebration time for the members of the Blackwood Pack. For the first time in the past 15 years, Chris and Liam genuinely looked happy.

A party was arranged for the newest members of the Blackwood Pack. Chris was so excited he decided to send an open invitation to every werewolf who wished to attend and bless his kids.

Adele was skeptical about the idea as the recent attacks had convinced her that something was not right.

She approached her mates and asked, ” Do you think it is a good idea to invite everyone?”

" Why not?” Chris asked.

" Are you not worried about the attacks?”

" Our pack is well secured,” Chris said confidently.

" But don’t you think it’s unusual being attacked so often?” Adele said, being careful about her words. She didn’t want her mates to know that she knew about their past.

Chris glanced at Liam, who looked worried and replied through mind-link, ” It’s happening again. We never even realized it.”

Chris recalled his past and shivered at the thought of history repeating itself. He clenched his fist and roared, ” I won’t let anything happen.”

Adele was shocked at his tone while Liam gave Chris a warning look. Chris steadied himself and said calmly to Adele, ” I think you are right. We cannot risk the safety of our Pack.”

Adele signed in relief while Liam said, ” We will only invite the people we know, and I will personally take care of the security.”

Adele smiled at Liam and Chris.” I will speak to my family.”

Both Chris and Liam nodded while Adele left happily.

It was the day of the party, and Adele’s family had arrived earlier. Despite the party being in the evening, Adele’s parents came to meet their grandchildren in the morning itself.

Adele’s dad, Aaron, seemed to like Iris a bit too much, and even Iris seemed very comfortable with him. Ian was a Mama’s boy who always preferred to be with his Mom.

In the evening, the guests started to arrive, and Chris and Liam got busy with the guests introducing them to their pups.

The guests thought it was weird that the Blackwood pack Luna had two mates, and she had twin pups, out of which the elder girl was a Beta, and the younger boy was an Alpha, but nobody dared to question the great Alpha Chris.

Though it was strange, most of the other pack Alphas were happy for Chris, except for one. That one person was Alpha William of their neighboring pack named Moonshine Pack.

Moonshine Pack was the immediate neighbor of the Blackwood Pack. They were a strong pack with around 750 wolves, but Alpha William was jealous of Chris as the greatness of the Blackwood Pack always overshadowed his pack.

When the previous Alpha Shawn died, Chris was only 17, so Alpha William thought he could easily defeat Chris and take over the Blackwood pack. William challenged Chris for a fight, but he couldn’t even last for five minutes. That experience was quite a humiliation for Alpha William though he should have been grateful that Chris did not take over the Moonshine Pack even after defeating him.

Alpha William showed up at the party as he didn’t want to miss an opportunity to mock Chris. When he reached the Blackwood pack, Chris was talking with the Alpha of the Bluerock pack. Once Chris was alone, William approached Chris. ” Congratulations, Alpha Chris. Finally, you have a family.”

Chris was really in a good mood, so even if he disliked Alpha William, he smiled at him and replied calmly, ” Yes.”

" So, who is your mate, and where are your pups?” William asked.

“She was here a while ago,” Chris replied and looked for Adele. He saw her with Liam, holding their pups and speaking to the guests, and asked Liam to come along with Adele and the kids.

Chris then said to William, ” They are busy with the guests; they will be here within a few minutes.”

William looked in the direction Chris was pointing and saw Beta Liam with a woman. ” So, this mate of yours is also your Beta’s mate?” he asked in a mocking tone.

“Yes,” Chris replied in a matter-of-fact tone.

" Ahhh... Don’t you feel strange sharing your mate with someone else?”

" That’s none of your business,” scoffed Chris.

" Don’t get angry, Mr. Black; I was just concerned about you,” replied William.

" I should have killed this bastard when I had the chance,” Conan, Chris’s wolf, said with disgust while Chris tried to keep him under control.

" I know how much you care about me,” Chris replied, giving William a huge smile emphasizing the word ‘care.’

" Don’t you trust me? Your father was my best friend. You are like a son to me,” William said, trying to show his fake concern.

" You should be more bothered about your own son. Last I heard, he was almost arrested by the Police for fighting with humans in a bar. Keep a check on his reckless behavior,” smirked Chris.

William was furious at Chris’s response. He gritted his teeth and said, ” You misunderstood my words, Mr. Black. ” William saw Liam approaching them with his mate. ” Look at them; they look so happy together. So I was just wondering whether she likes her other mate more.”

Chris looked at Liam and Adele and saw them laughing about something. They approached them, and William said to Liam, ” You look so happy, Beta Liam.”

" I am,” Liam replied casually.

William looked at the twin babies and asked Liam, ” Which one is yours?”

Adele could instantly see through this man’s intent.

Even Liam and Chris seemed offended, and both of them replied simultaneously, ” Both.”

William looked from Chris to Liam and said, ” But I heard one baby is an Alpha and the other...”

" Regardless of what you heard, our answer is the same. Both the kids are ours,” Chris said a bit too loudly. ” You must be hungry now; so much mockery and sarcasm for a day must have drained your brain cells. Please have your dinner before leaving” saying this, Chris, Liam, and Adele turned to leave.

William tried to follow them, but Liam said, ” You are headed in the wrong direction. Dinner is being served there,” Liam said, pointing towards the food counters.

Adele asked Chris, ” Who was that?”

" Our not-so-friendly neighbor,” Chris replied sarcastically.

At that time, Adele’s phone started ringing, and she saw that it was her friend Sera. ” I need to take this call. Could you hold the baby for me?”

Chris nodded, and Adele gave Ian to Chris.

Adele rushed to a corner and picked her phone, ” Where are you, Sera? I tried calling you so many times.”

" I am sorry, Ade, but I-I was b-busy with something.”

" What’s wrong with you? Your voice sounds strange. Are you not feeling well?” Adele asked with concern.

" I-I want to talk to you, Ade. I need your help.”

" Ya tell me, what is it?”

" I can’t tell you on the phone. Can we meet tomorrow? Is it possible for you to come while you are pregnant?”

" I am already a Mom, Sera,” Adele said with excitement.

" What? So soon,” Sera asked, surprised.

Adele recalled her unique experience. ” Yeah. It was unexpected.”

" Congratulations, Ade. Is it a boy or a girl?”

" A boy and a girl.”

" That’s great. When can I meet them?” asked Sera.

" Anytime. In fact, why don’t you come here tomorrow?”

“No...” Sera replied instantly.

" Why not?”

Sera was hesitant. ” I-I have not met your mate, so I won’t be comfortable.”

Adele knew Sera was a reserved person who would not be comfortable meeting new people. ” Ok, I understand. We will meet tomorrow at the usual place.”

" Ok. See you tomorrow,” saying this; Sera disconnected the call.

When Adele approached Chris and Liam, their friend Archer, Alpha of the Firemoon pack, was having a conversation with them. ” You guys are fast, I met my mate a year back, but I am still not a father.”

" So, it’s high time you stop flirting with other women and concentrate on your own mate,” Adele replied sarcastically.

Archer smirked at Adele and said, ” The problem is my mate is not as desirable as you.”

Adele scoffed. “Maybe your mate has the same opinion about you too.” She was not interested in talking with Archer, and right then, Daisy called for her, so she excused herself, taking Ian and Iris along with her.

Liam was not pleased to see Archer flirting with his mate right in front of him. Chris saw the change in Liam’s demeanor and observed his eye-color change from blue to brown. It was a bit shocking for Chris to see Liam losing his cool as normally; Liam was a very calm person.

Chris held Liam’s hand and asked, ” What’s wrong?”

" The bastard is flirting with her right in front of us,” Liam replied with venom.

" Calm down. It’s not a big deal,” Chris said casually.

“Not for you,” Liam replied and left Chris standing there in shock.
