You calculate your wins

Does tearing me down

Lessen your frown?

Love doesn’t come into it

I’m sorry you don’t comprehend

and now I’m letting you go

Because I cannot be your friend

I will always love you

because you are my sister

But I will not let your toxic ways

Taint the color of my days

I will not accept the guilt

of your twisted ways and wilt

to let your anger so mismanaged

leave me torn and damaged

You cannot bury your hurt

under my tears

and gloat

I’m settling the score

By walking proud and tall

and building up a wall

to keep you at a distance

and do myself a kindness

My tears are shed with relief
