Third POV

As the others were heading to the office, Aubrey pulled Alex into the house and dragged him to her room.

She’s not a hundred percent sure whether she wants this, but she’s tired of being the shy and cautious girl she was forced to become. She wants to be confident and fight for what she wants, like always was. And all she knows now, is that she wants her mate near her, especially knowing a fight is coming very soon.

Just as she closes the door she jumps Alex and starts kissing him deeply. She doesn’t want her fears and insecurities to hold her back anymore.

But Alex pulls back and looks at her with a questioning look. He wants to know if she’s sure, but she’s getting worried with his hesitation.

“We don’t have to if you don’t want to.” Aubrey says as she pulls back.

But he grabs her waist, holding her against him.

“How could I not want to? I’m already crazy about you.”

“You are?”

“Yes.” He rests his forehead against hers. “I already love you. I love that you exist. My whole life I thought I never deserved happiness, such happiness. I always felt empty, like I wasn’t……”

“Whole.” She finishes his sentence, and he nods in agreement.

“So of course I want you. But I just don’t know how this all works. I mean, we don’t even really know each other.”

“Soooo,….. do you just want to sit and chat first or can we rather get to know each other more physically?” She gives a naughty smile.

“Oh thank god.” He grabs her and kisses her again.

He loves how confident she is. He always believed it’s what makes a woman sexier.

Still kissing her, he walks her back towards the bed. They both pull off each other’s clothing, until they’re just in underwear. He leans her down onto the bed as he hovers over her.

He moves his kisses down to her neck and gives a low growl.

“Fuck, you smell amazing.”

Just as his hands graze over her breast as he feels her body, he notices her body tense up. He stops and looks up at her, wondering.

“Are you,….are you a virgin?”

He really hopes she’s not though. He’s never had a virgin; he wouldn’t even know how to go about it.

But she’s more worried about whether she needs to tell him about her past. Right now can’t possibly be the right time to do it.

“No.” She says softly, looking nervous. “It only happened once though. So I’m not…….experienced.”

Alex clenches his jaw from anger, wondering who the fucker was that was her first. The asshole was obviously too focused on his own needs to make it memorable for her. He can see the worry in her eyes, and he doesn’t want her to pull back now.

So he cups her face, admiring her cute pouty lips that just beg him to be kissed. “Will you let me,……..will you let me give you new memories? Perhaps to replace old ones even.” He smirks.

She smiles so brightly letting go of a deep breath she forgot she was holding.

“Do you trust me?” He asks as he starts laying sweet and gentle kisses down to her breasts.

Aubrey surprises herself as she answers without even thinking. “Yes.” The very word she never thought to say to a man. But she feels safe with him, she feels loved.

That night Alex showed Aubrey just how a woman should be treated and worshiped. He told her that that is how she should always feel, and he’ll be sure to always make her feel that way. Aubrey couldn’t believe her senses, that she begged Alex for more, and he was more than happy to give his mate what she wants, - him.

Meanwhile

Mikhail has been leading his little beloved all around. She’s very lively and curious for such a small and gentle woman. But he already knows she will be a handful. She’s attracting attention wherever she goes, not shy to talk to anyone. And those gorgeous doe eyes are luring the men in like moths to a flame. That’s why he hasn’t let her go and kept her by his side at all times, even when she was eating.

It wasn’t long after he had to take her to the pack doctor called Aiden. He got really annoyed seeing how well they got along. He showed his fangs at Aiden to get him to stop smiling at her. But then Shay ended up scolding him, telling him he should wait outside if he doesn’t behave.

He couldn’t believe that he got scolded like some child, when he is older than both of them combined. But one of the other female healers in the room assured him to not take it personally. Apparently Aiden is just a very likeable person, but also respectful.

Shay explained to Aiden that they can actually just add a specific herb to the salve. It won’t change any properties of the salve, but would help keep it combined. Then the temperature won’t be an issue to keep it coagulated.

She also had a look at the powder Liam found the other day.

“This is old magic, but actually a very simple potion. Anyone can make it. You just have to mix the right type of ingredients.” Shay says as she feels the powders between her fingers.

“But how do we now which ingredients? We can’t even get a scent from it.” Aiden knows he already smelling it, but it just numbed in nose.

“Well that’s the thing. It’s just a mixture of herbs. They all of scents, but once you mix them together, they become scentless. It’s one of the reasons why it’s so useful to hide scents.”

“But why does it numb our noses?”

“It’s a side effect. Because in reality, nothing really has no scent. And it’s especially effective on supernaturals, because it also hides a person’s magic energy.”

“Magic energy? As in what type of supernatural they are?”

“Yes. It hides the person’s personal scent and their magic scent. It basically camouflages the person. I think that’s why the alpha couldn’t find his mate during the attack. He couldn’t pick up on her scent, nor could he sense her wolf, because the magic connection was numbed.”

But now Aiden looks like he’s contemplating something.

“Do you think you can help us make more of this?”

But Shay seems very curious, she already knows she wants to be a part of it.

“What for?”

“Well, if we have this for our fighters, then we can sneak up on the enemy. It may just give us an added advantage. Not only won’t they be able to pick up our scent, but they won’t know that we have more than just wolves fighting on our side. So can you?”

Shay squeals with excitement. “Ooooo, this fight seems like it’s going to be very exciting. And of course I can help. Let me just write down which herbs we’ll need and you can check if you have any. But I’m sure many can be found in the woods.”

“Okay.”

Mikhail enjoys watching his beloved work, and how excited she gets when mixing herbs and potions, especially when she had him help her. He doesn’t mind the way this little minx bosses him around. His life is going to be anything but boring and lonely from here on out.
