Hannah chuckled and said, “Alright, keep on ranting until you blow off all your steam.”

The more indifferent Hannah appeared, the more pissed Daniela became. She said, “Hannah, you’re thinking Steven is going to rush in and save you, aren’t you? You think I wouldn’t dare to do anything to you?”

Hannah retorted, “Am I allowed to think that?”

Daniela was so incensed she couldn’t stand it, saying, “Stop daydreaming. Do you think I’d lay a finger on you without Steven’s permission? Before I made any move, I spoke to him. I took actions only after he gave me the green light.”

Hannah frowned, “Really?”

Daniela challenged, “Don’t believe me? Why don’t you give Steven a call and ask him yourself?”

Hannah replied, “Well, I hate to break it to you, but I already tried calling him. Unfortunately, President Dixon’s phone is off. I couldn’t reach him. You happen to have another way of contacting him? Mind giving me a hand?”

Daniela had met shameless people but Hannah took the cake. She wondered if the woman was playing dumb on purpose.

Not only did she dare to contact Steven, she even asked her to help. She was so infuriated she wished she could strangle Hannah. “You’ve got some nerve! Shameless!” She cursed.

Hannah shot back, “Shamelessness is invincibility. If I could get in with President Dixon, I’ll be on easy street. Why wouldn’t I go for it? What’s dignity worth anyway? It’s because I care about my dignity that I’m being stepped on by people like you.”

Daniela conceded, “You do understand your predicament.”

Hannah admitted, “That might be my only redeeming quality.”

Daniela asked, “Do you know why I called you here?”

Hannah guessed, “To tell me to leave Harbor City and never see President Dixon again?”

Daniela confirmed, “You’ve got it.”

Hannah added, “It’s not really that I got it. It’s just that I’ve acted in a similar storyline. The villainess bullies the heroine and tries to kick her out of the hero’s house.”

Daniela’s face darkened, “Are you calling me a villainess?”

Hannah clarified, “Let me finish. In the drama, the hero saves the heroine in the nick of time and punishes the villainess. But in real life, I’m not the heroine, and the hero won’t come to my rescue. I know exactly where I stand.”

Daniela sometimes admired Hannah’s candor. “You’re right. In dramas, you can be the lead. In real life, you’re just an extra.” She said. Hannah gave a small smile, saying, “True, I’m just an extra in real life.” She had been an extra in life for over 20 years. Now, she wanted to be the star of her own life, living freely and not being anyone’s puppet.

Daniela asked, “Are you going to leave or stay?”

Hannah replied, “If I don’t leave, would there be any other options for me? If not, why wouldn’t I leave?”

Daniela instructed, “Then leave immediately. Stay away and never reappear in Steven’s life. I don’t want to be reminded of your past relationship with him when we get married.”

Hannah responded, “We haven’t even discussed terms yet, and you’re already asking me to leave.”

Daniela questioned, “You don’t want to leave?”

Hannah proposed, “I can comply with your demand to stay far away and never reappear in Steven’s life. But first, you’ll have to help me shift the tide of public opinion.”

Daniela challenged, “Hannah, why should I help you?”
