Comelia was pregnant, and the medicine Dr. Lester prescribed had hormones, which pregnant women couldn’t take. Dr. Charlie wasn’t well–versed with allergic reactions, so he suggested Comelia to tough it out, and it would get better.

By the time Cornelia was rushed to the hospital, her face had turned a ghastly shade of blue. They pulled some strings to get her into the emergency room. After a series of frantic efforts, they barely snatched her back from the jaws of death.

According to the attending physician in charge of her treatment, she had suffered from severe allergic reactions which led to her respiratory distress. Had she arrived at the hospital a few minutes later, she might not have made it. For now, Cornelia’s life had been saved, but her body was extremely weak. She needed to be observed in the ICU for a while,

Upon hearing that Cornelia was out of danger, Grandpa Augustine, who had been waiting anxiously at the doors of the ER, let out a sigh of relief. He then turned to Granny Luisa beside him, “Granny Luisa, I think you owe me an explanation.”

Upon hearing of Comelia’s fainting, Granny Luisa had also rushed to the hospital. Like Grandpa Augustine, she was extremely worried while Cornelia was in the emergency room.
