Grandmother was enraged at what happened at the hospital, especially since David was part of my kids’ lives and I wasn’t. She was angry at Love for not coming when she found out she was pregnant. I sighed and leaned against the couch. How could she have come back when I hurt her? I understood Love’s leaving, but taking my kids from me was senseless. I had a right to

I know how much they are in love yet they allowed this one thing to somehow prevail in causing trouble for them. I’ve advised Jace many times to sort out whatever issues he had with Lilac, but he only says he messed up.

I watched Lilac sobbing on the bench. I walked back to the house, knowing she needed space and I was intruding.

Didn’t I tell you you’re not fit for my family!” I heard screaming in the foyer. I marched there. Charlotte was there, facing the floor. I groaned at CC’s rudeness. She doesn’t treat Charlotte fairly because according to her, she doesn’t meet our standards.

“My grandson doesn’t love you, yet you keep throwing yourself at him. Such a shameless woman!” CC growled. 2

CC! Why are you being so rude to her,” I said, standing beside Charlotte. She wrapped her arms around my waist as she sobbed silently. I glared at Grandmother, but she didn’t flinch. Crazy woman.

Ellis, this woman needs to leave this house and your life. She has gotten so much already, and her timid act is getting boring,” CC rolled her eyes. *

“You know the situation with her,” said reasonably, but she clicked her tongue and gave my mate one more glare before leaving. I grab Charlotte by her shoulder and lead her to the couch.

“I was busy with work,” she interlocks her hand with mine and smiles.

I didn’t know how to deal with Charlotte or her wolf anymore. I didn’t want to reject her and kill her – She was my mate. However, I couldn’t be with her. So, until I find a way to break the bond between us, I’ll keep her around for her safety.

My lycan scoffed and blocked our connection.

“I went shopping today for a dress today for the company party,”

I completely forgot about the company party. Charlotte enjoys such events, so I made sure to invite her, but, it now felt wrong since Love will be there – With David, my subconscious says. 2

Charlotte went on to talk about what she would wear to the party, and what shoes she would pair her outfit with. It was surprising how she’d go from being sad to excited when talking about things she liked. 4

Luckily, she didn’t spend the night here because she didn’t want to rum into CC again.

‘Call her,’ Lias said as I settled in bed. I grabbed my phone from the charger and dialed Love’s number, but her phone was switched off. I will see her tomorrow morning. She wouldn’t get away with denying me my kids.
