His Favored Luna
Chapter 2

Greyson’s POV

I know Autumn is supposed to be rejoining us today, I am not really looking forward to any confrontations with her today or any day. My dad had always put up with her attitude and rule breaking, but I am going to have to set her straight before she has time to get into trouble. She has always been a quiet girl, fiesty and rebellious. I mean I can’t really blame her for why she does what she does, she saw her parents murdered right in front of her them in their wolf form and her as a helpless human at five years old.

I will never forget that day, I was only ten and she came out of the woods alone and covered in blood, I had my friend go for my dad while I picked her up and carried her to the infirmary, I thought the blood she was coated in was her own. I didn’t realize what had happened until I overheard my father talking to his Beta John about it. Autumn wouldn’t tell us anything. She would speak eventually, but it was very little.

I always followed her when she would return to the woods, I didn’t know what she was doing the first time, she would go out there and lay down and cry, it wasn’t until I was a wolf at 16 did I understand why she returned to that very spot, as a wolf I could still smell the faint smell of her parents blood, even the weather couldn’t clean it completely out of the earth, I knew it was their blood because I will never get that smell out of my senses I wore it on me as I cradled Autumn’s tiny body to mine.

She became fearless and reckless after her parents died which gave my dad headaches. She was first living with a sweet older couple, but they couldn’t keep track of her, so Beta John took her in, he was close to her parents and she loved him very much. He was better at keeping tabs on her, but she would sneak away from school, she would hide for hours up in a tree which her the nickname ‘Kitten’.

I spent a lot of my teenaged years secretly following her and watching over her. One night when she was 14 she snuck out of John’s house, he mind linked all the pack to look for her. I knew exactly where to find her. She was asleep up in a little hole inside a big tree, I have seen her crawl in there many times before, I took off outside and shifted and ran straight to her and mind linked the pack that I found her. I gently pulled her out and put her over my shoulder and shifted back and carried her on my back, it wasn’t easy but I have seen it done with parents with their pups before. I couldn’t believe she walked out there at night, she didn’t have her wolf yet, she was extremely reckless, she was guarded 24 hours a day for a month after that, she hated it, this girl was a handful.

I am praying to the moon goddess that she has settled down and dealt with some of her ghosts and demons that haunt her, I felt bad for her when I suggested that my dad send her to an ally pack, but it was for her own good, I was on the cusp of stepping up as alpha and we had more threats of rogues and her without her wolf and rebellious and reckless behavior she presented herself as a risk to being killed. I couldn’t have her blood on my hands.

My dad’s beta John has kept us abreast of her schooling and the alpha of the current pack said she had some issues at first, but after a while she had settled in just enough, but not enough to really make it home. She had some issues with some of the pack girls and cliques, but she didn’t let it get to her.

Beta John said she excelled in school, she finished high school early and has graduated with a degree in buisness management from the University. I have thought about making her my personal assistant to keep her busy and allow her to handle some of the pack buisness as I don’t have a Luna yet. I’m 25 and haven’t found my mate yet, many She wolfs have tried, but I was never interested in any from our pack, yeah I had some fun with some human women, but knew better to get involved with anyone from my own pack, I couldn’t have a history with any of my pack members in case I do find my mate one day. I have learned from other packs that it can create quite the drama and some she-wolfs have lost their life from acting out due to jealousy once she is replaced by the alpha’s true mate. I am never cruel to the women I have been with, they know I am not looking for a commitment and I am always careful.

My meeting is over and I am finally home, I was mind linked as soon as she was back in the territory. I mind linked her once I made it to my office welcoming her back, she thanked me and I tell her I want her to meet me in my office and she doesn’t answer me back to acknowledge that she got my message, it irritates me, I need to nip this in the bud from the get go. I can’t have her disrespecting me. I mind link her again warning her that I will not tolerate her not acknowledging me when I speak to her and that I was not as lax on her shenanigans as my dad was. I mind linked John as well to bring her to me so that she doesn’t try to climb any trees or find her old hiding places, surely after five years and now that she has a degree she won’t be a nuisance. Goddess please let her have grown up and left all of that behind.

I hear a presence outside my office door and I check the security monitor and see a petite woman outside the door I tell her to come in. When she walks in it is like I have come alive, I stand to welcome her as her scent of Gardenias and lavender fill my senses and overwhelms me, my wolf stands at attention and says “Mate, she is our mate” I am shocked, she has grown up, her long silky black hair straight and gorgeous, she still has a petite frame, but she has definitely filled out in the right places, she has breasts and curvy hips, she is perfect, her eyes are hazel and stand out against her dark hair and golden skin tones. “Kitten?” She stares at me wide eyed and shocked, I have to admit I am a bit shocked too. I never expected this gorgeous woman in front of me be my mate. Oh Moon Goddess what have you done to me?

I walk around my desk, but she backs away from me fear in her eyes, “Autumn, please come to me” she continues to stare at me, but eventually she meets me in the middle closing the distance between us. “You? You’re my mate?” She looks down to the floor. “Kitten, please look at me” she bites her lip and she looks up to me and it is so difficult to hold back and not take her. I have always been drawn to her, but never had any idea she was meant to my mate. Can she be the Luna to this pack?
