Chapter 24

Autumn’s POV

Weeks have passed since I told Greyson of my news, Mikaela has accepted Vincent as her mate and the two have been inseparable ever since, my pregnancy is progressing normally and Mikaela and I both have been suffering from morning sickness, it is very difficult for me at times knowing that the child she carries belongs to my mate. My instincts have me praying for strength to keep from harming Mikaela. Greyson’s mother assures me that it is a natural thing to feel this way towards her and I won’t do anything to harm her unless I truly wanted to harm her, that I will always be able to control my wolf.

On the other hand, I have come to really like Mikaela, her pup is growing well, I can hear her tiny heartbeat. “Mikaela, this is your first full moon here with the pack, you want to join us?” She looks at me with concern on her face. She has only seen Vincent’s wolf, and no one else’s yet. Greyson comes into the room, he walks over to me and kisses the side of my head and asks “Are you running tonight?” Mikaela looks at me with wide eyes. “As a wolf? You can be a wolf while pregnant?” I nod and say “yes, up to a certain point.” She then asks “what about the baby? Does it change as well?” I shake my head and say “no, my uterus doesn’t change, it just moves a little, but everything inside me is the same, the same blood, the same heart, it all just shifts around” she is nodding trying to take all this information in. I tell Greyson that I am staying in human form and staying with Mikaela and the rest of the females, he nods in agreement and asks me and Mikaela how we are feeling, Mikaela says she is feeling well for the first time in weeks. I myself still get a bit of sickness, but I think it has to do with when I shift.

“So, you will never give birth to puppies or wolves?” She asks me and I tell her “well truth is if I were to get pregnant in my wolf form then, yes, I will have a litter and would have to stay in wolf form until I give birth. That’s why we resist the urge to mate as wolves” she blushes at the realization of what I just said. I love how curious she is. “I want you to join us for the Luna’s circle tonight.” I tell her, she looks at me with a question in her eyes and I smile and say “As the pack’s Luna the women in the pack are more my responsibility and we sometimes will have a circle where we all connect to the moon goddess while the men run. Sometimes we join them in the run, but this time I think I will sit out of the run.”

Hours later we are sitting in the circle with me in the middle with Mikaela sitting in front of me holding my hands. I had to promise her that she would be safe. “What do I do?” She whispered and I tell her “nothing, just hold my hands” I close my eyes and start my connection with the moon goddess and I hear Mikaela gasp as I begin to glow and the women surrounding us begin to glow as well. The goddess appears to me and welcomes Mikaela, the newest goddess to our pack. Mikaela gasps, but doesn’t speak. “Mother goddess, thank you for blessing us with your presence on this night. Thank you for welcoming Mikaela, we seek your wisdom on our children.” I say to the Goddess. “Blessed Luna, your son will be the leader to bring all packs peace he will do so with his mate, his sister and her mate, it is destined to happen, although there will be many hardships along the way, keep faith that all will come to pass.” I then remain still keeping the connection open for all the women in the circle to have their moment with the Goddess.

Howls are surrounding us as the remaining pack members are running, after our meeting with the moon goddess I mind link Greyson and have him and Vincent to meet Mikaela and myself to take us for a run. Mikaela asks me about the moon goddess and why she called her a goddess, I answer “all females are a goddess to their mates, we are the ones who are closer to the goddess herself, so it is only natrual that our mates worship us as such. Of course she is the one true Goddess, but females are highly regarded in the werewolf world.”

Greyson and Vincent show up as Mikaela and myself stand to their arrival I tell her to trust Vincent and to hold on. He lowers himself and Mikaela watches me as I climb onto

lf. “I won’t hurt him if I hold on to his fur?” I tug at Greyson’s fur and tell her “no, they can handle it.” She climbs on and grabs a fist full of fur in both hands and our mates take off slowly at first as we get used to riding on their backs, then slowly begin to increase their speed. I look at Mikaela and a smile appears on her face that once showed fear. We ride out to the falls and the water is beautiful with the moons glow, I invite Mikaela to join us for a swim, the autumn is unseasonably warm, allowing the cool water wash away the sweat from the heat of the evening. The guys go into the newly constructed shift house to change into their human form and swim trunks. Mikaela joins me in the women’s side and I give her one of my bathing suits that I keep stored there. “Wow, I would have never known this building was here, it looks so natrual it just blends in so well.” I tell her, that was the point.

We step into the water being careful of our condition while Vincent and Greyson show off by climbing up and diving in. Greyson comes up to me and pulls me in his arms and whispers his affections into my ear as I see Vincent do the same thing with his mate. Mikaela looks happy and I tell Greyson what happened with the moon goddess and her affection towards Mikaela. “What do you think she meant about hardships along the way?” He asks me, I shrug my shoulders and say, “you know the Goddess isn’t going to reveal too much, we have to maneuver through life on faith.” He nods understanding what I am saying. “Besides what’s the fun in knowing what happens along the way? It takes the adventure out of the journey good or bad, we will go through it together.” I add and he then pulls me closer to him and kisses me, he then takes me under the falls for a private make out session. Other pack members soon begin to dive in to wash off their sweat from their run. The moonlight reflecting off the water makes for a perfect ambiance for mates to pair up and steal a kiss or two, while others are playing games with each other. The overall mood is that of celebration and happiness. Greyson looks on in pride at his pack with me in his arms, and I see Mikaela enjoying herself as well. Mom’s watching their pups play as they rode out here on their parent’s backs, I vaguely recall riding on my mom’s back the day they were killed, of course there were the times when I wandered away and Greyson would find me and put me on his back to bring me back to the pack. Everyone begins to head back to the main pack house for a bon fire and more celebration. I stay close to Mikaela, embracing her more as a sister than my mate’s former lover. I want her to feel welcomed and so far all the other members of the pack have been forgiving of her and of Greyson and their fallacy. I reminded thd ladies that she is only human and that we should keep that in mind when passing judgement, she had no way to know she was sleeping with my mate, but because my mate is the alpha he is automatically forgiven, but I found this double standard irritating to say the least when I called them all out on it at the pack meeting announcing the news about Mikaela and her expecting their alpha’s daughter. Many wanted me to kill her and the pup, and I refused to do so. Finally Greyson stepped up to say that whatever they wish for Mikaela should come to him because he is the one that knew he had a mate somewhere and that he was playing with fire. He just didn’t expect to get burned. I sometimes have to remind myself that I had forgiven him already. He has more than less made his feelings known to me. After the meeting we had an argument that ended up with me submissive, and him showing me who was alpha, needless to say, but me throwing a tantrum wasn’t acceptable to him and he had picked me up and carried me to our bedroom where our argument ended with me pinned under his strong hold and him slamming into me over and over again and leaving me wanting more. “I have compromised enough, Autumn, I respect you as my mate to lead with me, but bottom line there can only be one alpha, and that is me, even when our son becomes alpha, I will always be your alpha, don’t forget that either, Kitten.” He had said to me before turning away from me to go shower.

My memories are interrupted by Greyson’s kiss to the back of my neck. “Let’s go on to bed and leave the others to celebrate while we do a little celebrating ourselves.” he whispers in my ear, wanting sex yet again. I giggle at his obvious attempt to get into my panties. I ask him “where is the romance? The seduction?” He looks at me, “you want to be seduced? Alright” it only takes him a few nibbles on my neck and some whispers in my ear that has me longing. I willingly go upstairs with him and we make love all night long with the moons glow feasting on our sweaty bodies. As the sun comes up the next morning is when we both feel fully sated and exhausted, it is as usual with the next day after a full moon that we tend to sleep in the next day, most wolves are exhausted from the night before. As we would learn later on it is also when we are most vulnerable and susceptible to an attack, just not today.
