His Favored Luna

Autumn’s POV

He is going to use the alpha command on me? Oh we are about to fight. I shove past him and head back and find something more to put on, I am not going to piss him off more by parading around half naked in front of everyone. We will talk later about his whole dominate alpha thing, only one place I will submit to him and that is in the bed. I am his equal, I won’t undermine him, but he doesn’t need to undermine me either, I also need to address the patrol questioning my command to hold their ground. I knew the two in human form might be just for distraction to make all our guards move to them while the leaving all our other borders open. What might have happened if we weren’t spread out the way we were? How close would they get to Greyson? I specifically said NOT to alert the alpha. I need their respect, and I will get it.

I make my way down to the dungeons and I hear commotion and Greyson turns his head to me and says “Kitten, what are you doing in here?” I mind link him and him only. ‘I came to hear their minds, it is one of my gifts as your Luna, to be able to hear their thoughts, now leave me be and stop treating me less than your equal, we can discuss this later.’ He nods at me, but his face shows irritation. “Very well” he then turns and begins asking the intruders why they come, but he is calling them rogues, I scrunch my brow in confusion, can he not tell that they are from a pack? I can smell them a mile away.

‘Good he thinks we are rogues, do not tell him where we are from, he must not find out.’

’She scares me, is she the Luna? Have you ever see a Luna light up like that?”

I want to know what pack they are from, I heard earlier them talking about a prophecy. I need to find out what this is about. I think it is more to do with me bringing forth a son that will unite the packs, the next alpha of our pack. I need to know this prophecy that they spoke of.

They give nothing away, their mindless chatter is not saying anything of importance, I mind link Greyson ‘ask them why they were targeting you instead of the Luna?’ To go after the alpha on his own territory is challenging him, hardly ever does this happen, mostly the attacks are directed for the Luna, the pack falls apart without the Luna, so it really makes no sense to risk their life challenging an alpha instead of going for the weaker Luna. He turns towards me and eyed me in shock then turns back and asks them.

‘How did he know we were after him?’

‘I am telling you that Luna is different, I think she may be a witch. Don’t look her in the eyes’

I stand stoic in the shadows listening in. Forcing myself to remain impassive, showing no hint that I can hear them.

After an hour I mind link Greyson that we need to leave it for tonight and try again tomorrow. He finally agrees with me. And we leave out together making our way back to our home. Once inside I sense his anger towards me.

“Just what the hell do you think you are doing ordering the pack not to notify me? And I was told that you ordered that patrol wasn’t to assist in apprehending the rogues? Explain Autumn, that’s not how things are done around here!”

I remain calm and explain quietly, “as your Luna I have every right to give orders, you are a target, not me, but you, the reason I gave the order to not alert you was for your own safety. I didn’t know how many there were ready in the shadows, I could sense it was too many to count. Many retreated after I took the first two down.” He stops me “hang on, you took two rogues down by yourself?” I correct him “they were pack warriors, it was a pack that attacked tonight, not rogues.” He asks me “how do you know?” I tell him “my wolf and I are one, with my Luna gifts I can sense things, I think that is why I woke up and went for the run in the first place, The moon goddess told me that my job was to protect you, she said that day my parents died that for their sacrifice I was spared and given powers to deter them away, that if I hadn’t they would have succeeded with their mission, and even at ten years old you were a target. Now come to think about it, anytime that we had a rogue attack you were always safe following me away from where the attack took place. You nearly died when I was gone. You were attacked on my 16th birthday.” I watch him take all this in. “Can you really hear their minds?” I nod “but when I listen to them they don’t know I can hear them, and it cuts my connection with my own pack.” I go on to tell him about what all I heard.

“Now to address the patrol question. I made a judgment call as Luna and a trained warrior, if you leave all the gates unmanned to assist with two wolves that I easily took down then how many would have gotten inside our walls, we were surrounded. You know this to be true because of how spread out the fights were.” He nods and rubs his head. “I am not used to this Autumn, not used to being vulnerable to a woman calling the shots.” I look at him and say “are you kidding me right now? What century are you from? This is the 21st century join me please. Seriously, you know I get powers from the moon goddess, your mom is a Luna, surely you know what we Lunas are capable of?” He looks frustrated “don’t allow your pride to overshadow what you know is true” he says “you’re right.” I then address the situation of the ones disobeying my orders and questioning my decision. “It will be addressed in the morning, I still disagree about not alerting me, but we will discuss that later, let’s get some sleep.
