Chapter 377 My Turn

Adrian remained silent, merely gazing at her with slightly lowered eyes.

Lysander continued, “Maybe it’s best if we cut off all contact from now on, even as friends. I’ll find a new place to move out as soon as possible. I’ll calculate and pay you for the rent for these past few days. Let’s

make a clean break.”

Adrian withdrew his gaze. “No need.”

“Since I’ve already rejected you, it’s better if we keep things clear and straightforward.”

“Lysander.”

“Hmm?”

“Give it some more thought,” he suggested.

Lysander didn’t respond.

“From the looks of it, Josiah is still going to keep pursuing you. The difference in his social status and yours is quite significant. With the power you currently hold, getting rid of him is practically impossible,” Adrian said.

Lysander was still keeping mum.

“When you truly have no other options, you can still turn to me. We can consider a trial marriage that lasts a specific time. Or, if you want a divorce when Josiah has finally given up on you, it’s fine. I won’t stop you, nor will I cling to you like Josiah. If you say you want a divorce on any given day, we’ll proceed with the paperwork on that very day,” Adrian added.

Lysander closed her eyes. “The person I was five years ago and the person I am now are not the same. The girl you knew from the medical university is not the same person standing before you now.”

“I know.”

“Let it go and don’t be reckless. I was once married to Josiah. Even if the public is unaware, doesn’t your family know? Even if they don’t know now, they’ll eventually find out. Would they ever accept you marrying a divorcee?” Lysander asked.

“That’s my problem. You don’t need to overthink it,” Adrian said. “Since I’ve voiced it out, I’ll ensure all troubles are dealt with thoroughly.”

“No. It would make me feel too selfish.”

He stood up and said, “Lysander, you could actually afford to be a bit more selfish.”

Lysander kept mum.

“I’m heading to the front hall to take a look. Would you like to join me?”

Lysander shook her head. “You go ahead.”

Chapter 377 My Turn

He forcefully pushed against the window, testing its sturdiness. “As long as it’s not opened from the inside, there’s no way to open it from the outside. After I leave, the door will be locked, too.”

“All right.”

Adrian picked up his jacket and left.

As soon as he pushed open the cabin door, he collided with someone outside.

Adrian let out a scoff, his voice laced with mockery. “How is it that someone of your stature has resorted to such underhanded tactics, Mr. Guerra?”

Josiah started the conversation by asking. “Do you want to marry Lysander?”

“Yes,” Adrian answered.

“I advise you to better drop that idea.”

Adrian chuckled. “Mr. Guerra, you sure have a way with words. Currently, Lysander is single. It’s her choice who she marries, and it’s my right to pursue her. Why should I back off?”

Josiah’s gaze was sharp. “Dr. Sutton, out of respect for you being Aiden’s elder brother, I’ve always treated. you with respect. But when it comes to Lysander, it’s a different story.”

“Let’s take things slow and see how they unfold.”

“All right, then.”

When Adrian stepped out, the two men’s shoulders collided fiercely, yet neither was willing to give way.

After Adrian left, Josiah slowly made his way in.

Lysander felt a headache coming on. Are these two men really planning to take turns to challenge me? They just want to wear me down, don’t they?

“Lysander-

Lysander couldn’t take it anymore. “Are you here to interrogate me?”
