Tears welled up in Priscilla’s eyes. “Lysander, do you have a plan?”

After ensuring Priscilla was comfortably settled in, Lysander headed to the supermarket adjacent to the hotel to pick up some essentials and food to take back to the room.

As she was on her way, her phone rang; it was Zachary. “Lysander, I’m at the hospital entrance now, sorry for being late today, got caught up with some things.” 

Lysander replied, “It’s okay, I had a few errands myself, I’m not at the hospital. I’ll just catch a taxi back later.” 

“What happened to you?” 

“Nothing major, just catching up with a friend’s daughter; we had a meal together.” 

Zachary chuckled. “I see, where are you now? I’ll come and pick you up.” 

“No need, it’s not far away.” 

“We agreed that I would pick you up after work, I can’t break that promise. Please send me your location.”

Lysander opened the door and settled into the car. 

Once she was inside, Zachary surveyed the surroundings, commenting. “This doesn’t look like a commercial area, right? It’s all office buildings here, not many shops or restaurants. Why did you meet 

here?” 

Lysander plained, “She works around here, it was just more convenient.” 

“You mentioned it was a friend’s daughter, which friend? Do I know them?” 

“A university friend, you haven’t met.” 

Zachary persisted, “I’ve introduced you to all my close friends, aren’t you going to introduce me to yours?” 

“My best friend is Daphne, you’ve met her already.” 

“Daphne? Who’s that?” 

“She used to go by Harper. We were in the same class back at school.” 

“Oh. I don’t remember her.” 

Upon hearing this, Lysander felt a growing sense of unease.
