A day passes without hearing anything from Alex. He said he would call, but he didn’t.

His cell was switched off. And Daphne can’t reach Levi through her mindlink.

Worry gnaws at my guts as I pace back and forth in the living room. Earlier, the warrior who is keeping an eye on Serafina and David reported that they didn’t appear suspicious.

But, I can’t help this strange feeling inside me. Something bad is about to happen and I won’t be able to stop it.

My happiness will be snatched away from me again and I won’t be able to do anything.

For a small child, her drawing is clearer than I expected. She was not like this before.
