Chapter 55 Scoring An Own Goal 

“We have caught the supplier and he has confessed that a lady named Calista bought these illegal substances from him, and this is the evidence he provided…”

Benedict also ran over to look at the evidence. He had suspected his mentally ill elder daughter after listening to Yelena’s analysis of the matter, but then his elder daughter’s rebuttal didn’t have any loopholes and so he started to suspect Yelena. Then now there was evidence from the drug supplier, and he spat all his fury out at Calista. 

“What else do you have to say for yourself?” 

Calista remained completely unaffected by this anger. “One can always create evidence, what’s there to say?” 

After Wyatt heard Calista’s explanation, his intuition told him that she was telling the truth and she hadn’t done anything at all, and all this was Yelena and her daughter getting their just desserts. But then he looked at Quincy whose eyes were swollen from crying, and felt that the girl that he had watched grow up couldn’t be the immoral sort either…. 

Before he could say anything, Yelena laughed, “Sure, evidence can be created, then what about Jonathan’s accusations? If he accuses you, are you going to say that he’s been bribed into doing so?” 

Calista smiled coldly. “Before we came in, he’s already seen so many groups of people, surely it’s not hard to believe he’s been bribed.” 

Just when everything was in a mess, Jonathan entered the room. 

He looked extremely depressed as he sat down behind the metal grill, and then looked with a shock at the people in the same room. 

If he had known the Staffords were as good as a death trap, he wouldn’t have done anything just for this little bit of money. All the people he had seen carlier were all so frightening, especially the man who looked fairly gentle, but had looked at him with disdain and immediately used his parents to threaten him, saying that if he didn’t accuse Calista, he would throw his parents into the ocean to feed the fish! 

The moment Jonathan entered the room, everyone had different expressions on their face. Benedict was the angriest one! According to Yelena, this man had drugged and raped both his wife and daughter! This man was definitely unforgivable, and he was determined to send Jonathan to jail for the rest of his life! 

If not for the metal grill blocking him, Benedict would probably have gone forward to beat him up. 

Quincy then cried as she said, “You animal! Say it! Why did you do this to me?!” 

Jonathan saw Quincy was putting on a pretense and laughed bitterly in his heart. 

It was true that Quincy had started suffering the effects of the drug, but even before the drug had fully taken effect, she was already behaving licentiously. Even if there were some other men in the room, she would have probably gone with anybody anyway. But now she was crying so miserably and saying how pitiful she was, as if he had raped her! 

Yelena believed in Sterling’s ruthlessness, and she had erased all evidence of her communication with Jonathan. So this time Calista was definitely not getting away with this. She rushed over, pointed a finger straight at Jonathan’s face and shouted “You scoundrel! I called you over to give treatment! Why did you 

tein hart nor family? Whes out vou ten in this??

She nearly asked if it was Calista who instigated him. 

Wyatt remained calm and looked carefully at Jonathan. He realized that Jonathan looked like he beaten, since one side of his face looked slightly swollen and his expression was extremely nervous, as if he was having a violent battle in his heart. 

What Calista said earlier was not unbelievable either he really might have been bribed by now, 

But the calmest person in the room was probably Calista. She had expected that Jonathan would push the blame entirely on her. After all, Sterling had plenty of tricks up his sleeve to make sure Jonathan listened 

to him. 

“Say something! Why did you do this!” Yelena said so as she looked triumphantly at Calista. She just needed Jonathan to accuse Calista and let them drag her away! After being in prison for eight to ten years, she would have lost all credibility and wouldn’t pose a threat to her anymore. 

Jonathan got a shock when he heard Yelena’s voice. 

He looked as if he was really struggling, his two hands pulling hard at his own hair, both his eyes bloodshot and full of deep regret. 

“It wasn’t me! It wasn’t my idea, I was instigated by someone else!” 

Jonathan’s words made Yelena and Quincy’s heart leap for joy, and Benedict slammed the table hard. 

“Who put you up to this? And what is that person’s motive?!” 

Benedict was hoping that the mastermind behind all this was someone outside the family, like a business rival, for example. But even his worst enemy would never have thought of something so disgusting and 

vicious. 

When he saw Jonathan about to speak, Wyatt quickly interjected, “You have to think very carefully about what you say next. You’re now being accused of rape, and if you spout nonsense here, then you’ll be charged with more crimes.” 

When Jonathan heard Wyatt threatening him, he looked to his left to see that there was someone standing outside the door and smiling coldly at him. 

Calista noticed where Jonathan was looking and her heart froze. Sterling was still around? 

As long as he was around, even if she took out the recording she had now, the other party had plenty of means to prove that her evidence was false. The Wolfords were a force to be reckoned with, and she probably had to admit defeat today. 

Calista’s heart began to sink because her opponent was strong, but she gritted her teeth and told herself to pull her socks up! She hadn’t lost yet! Even if Sterling had the ability to keep the sky from falling, there must be some loophole she could find! 

After being frightened by Sterling’s stare, Jonathan shuddered and finally made his decision. 

“The person who instigated me was 

Jonathan looked towards Calista and said, “Yelena.” 

Yelena immediately burst out at Calista.

After saying this, she realized that she might have heard something wrongly. When she realized everyone was staring at her, she suddenly snapped out of it and yelled at Jonathan, “Did you make a mistake?!” 

Jonathan finally stopped hesitating and looked at Yelena, ready to bite a piece of her flesh off! 

“I didn’t make any mistake you are the one who instigated me!” 

Behind the door, Sterling’s face lost its smile immediately. Did this little ant know what he was saying? Was he sending his parents to die?! 

Jonathan on the other hand, was just spilling the beans on his side, “I’m not some amazing psychiatric consultant, in fact I’m quite notorious and many people don’t dare to look for me. But one day Yelena suddenly turned up and offered me a million dollars, and told me to…” 

“Stop talking! Stop talking! Where are the police? Drag him away now!!” 

Before anyone else could react, some people came from behind the metal grill and dragged Jonathan away. Jonathan knew these were probably going to be his last words, so he shouted loudly, “It’s Yelena! She wanted me to sleep with Calista! To help her ruin Calista! It’s her! She’s the one who landed me in trouble“!” 

Wyatt saw that there were really people listening to Yelena’s orders and grabbed the metal grill and asked sternly. “Who are you people? Where are you bringing him to?!” 

Jonathan had already been dragged out of sight, and the only officer who remained replied apologetically, “Sorry sir, the superintendent says he wants to interrogate this man personally.” 

Wyatt suddenly understood what was going on. It wasn’t the superintendent, but the man behind Yelena! This man had such influence! 

Jonathan’s voice slowly faded into the silence, and there were mixed expressions on everyone’s faces. 

When she thought about what Sterling must have looked like the moment his plans fell through, Calista suddenly snorted. 

But Sterling was quite capable indeed, and this police station was under his control already. She thought about how Sterling had confidently declared that she was definitely going to jail and wondered if he felt pain from being slapped in the face. 

Benedict bolted up from his chair, and stared gravely at Yelena, like a volcano on the verge of eruption. 

“Is everything he said true? You actually tried to do something like that to Callie?!”
