Her Mythical Warriors (Book Two)
Chapter Thirty-Two: Verasia

“What do we do now?” Darius asked.

Wolfric turned to the Pegasus and pointed to the girl. “We take her home.”

Darius nodded.

Wolfric looked back at Akira and sighed. She’d scared the fuck out of them. And she knew what they wanted from her. Only problem… they can’t do it together. The most they can have with her at the same time right now is three.

The five of them couldn’t take her at the same time, not until she was ready to discover her chosen mate. And none of them were ready for that. They wanted her to belong to all of them. They know deep down it wouldn’t happen. It hasn’t in the past… Why would it now?

“Let us get going before the Fossegrimen returns,” Stella said, motioning for them to get moving.

Malique looked at the trolls and said, “you two should stay here.”

Stella frowned at the vampire.

Wolfric nodded and said, “good idea. Jules and Levi don’t know where we are. You should let them know, so they don’t worry.”

Stella frowned. “Fine,” she grumbled.

“Thank you for saving me, Stella,” Akira said.

Wolfric turned to his Psychi.

Stella grinned at Akira, grabbed her brother’s arm, and took off toward the cabin to find the fairies.

“Let us get moving,” Wolfric said, lifting Akira into his arms.

“I’ll carry the girl,” Niall said as he shifted into his Centaur form.

“Where do you live?” Darius asked the girl.

The girl told them where her town was.

Niall nodded, “I know the town.”

Malique lifted the girl onto Niall’s back, and the group headed into the woods.

They stepped out of the woods two hours later and into a small town.

“That way,” the girl said, pointing to the right.

“I thought there were no humans in this realm,” Akira whispered into Wolfric’s ear.

Wolfric looked at the girl on Niall’s back. “She’s not human.”

Akira looked at the girl, her eyebrow furrowed. “But if she’s not human, how did she get herself caught by a water spirit?”

Wolfric shook his head, “once you make a deal with those beasts, they don’t let you go until they are no longer entertained.”

Akira frowned. “I don’t get it.”

“She’s a water nymph,” Zelious whispered.

Akira looked at her merman. “How do you know?”

Zelious grinned and pointed to himself. “Water Elementalist, remember?”

Akira smiled. How could she forget? He enjoyed using water to pleasure her when they made love in the ocean and pond.

“But I sense nothing coming off her,” Akira said.

“She’s young. I don’t think she has come into her powers yet,” Zelious said.

Akira frowned. “That sounds familiar.”

Wolfric kissed Akira’s forehead. He remembered how she was treated and how she felt about not having powers—like the other children in their town.

The group stopped before a farmhouse when the girl announced she was home. The front door opened, and a man and woman stepped out.

“Verasia!” the woman hollered when she saw her daughter.

“Mama!” Verasia cried out as Malique helped her off Niall’s back.

Niall shifted to his human form and stood beside Akira with her other warriors.

Verasia’s father looked at the group. When he saw Niall, he bowed.

“Your highness.”

Niall nodded to the man.

“Where have you been?” Verasia’s mother asked her daughter.

“I’m so sorry, Mama.”

Verasia told her parents her story. When she finished, her parents looked at Akira.

“Thank you for saving our daughter,” Verasia’s mother said.

“You really shouldn’t be traveling with humans,” Verasia’s father said, looking at Niall.

Niall snorted. He didn’t like to be told who he should or should not be traveling with. Especially when their fifteen-year-old daughter was out making deals with a Fossegrimen.

“But papa. They are not humans. Akira is a Havent, and these are her warriors. Including Prince Niall,” Verasia said, smiling at Akira and her warriors.

Akira tapped Wolfric to set her on her feet. He set her down but didn’t take his hands off her. She sighed, knowing how protective her warriors were of her.

“I am Akira, and these are my warriors. This is their fearless leader, Wolfric.” She pointed behind her at the giant of a man still holding onto her as if she’d disappear if he let go. “Wolfric is a direwolf.”

“Sir,” Verasia’s father said, bowing to Wolfric.

“That’s Malique; he’s an Upir. Darius, my beautiful Pegasus. Zelious, my water-loving merman, and you all know what Niall is.”

“Beautiful Pegasus, huh?” Darius asked with a chuckle, his eyebrows wagging up and down.

Akira rolled her eyes, and the other warriors chuckled.

“My pardon,” Verasia’s father said, looking at each of them. “I did not sense….”

“No one does,” Wolfric explained, “our Havent is hidden by the Gods.”

Akira looked up at Wolfric. She’d heard them speak of it before. But never completely understood the full effect of the Gods hiding her.

“We should head back now,” Wolfric said.

“You should stay the night here,” Verasia offered.

“We should get back,” Malique said.

“But by the time you get back, it will be time to get up. Please, stay here, rest, and then be on your way in the morning,” Verasia offered.

“I am tired,” Akira said, looking up at Wolfric.

Wolfric grunted. He hated it when she looked at him like that. “Fine,” he grumbled.

“You can stay in our barn,” Verasia’s father offered, pointing to a brown barn. “We can supply blankets….”

Akira grinned, “sounds great.”

Verasia and her parents led the group to the barn.

“Can we trust them?” Zelious asked as they followed the water nymph and her husband and daughter.

Niall nodded. “They owe us for saving their daughter.”

Once inside the barn, Verasia’s father showed them to a large stall. “I’m sure the six of you will fit in here.” He smiled at them as he backed out of the way.

Wolfric looked inside and smiled. “We have slept in smaller spaces.”

“Like that cave, we found the cub in,” Malique said with a cheerful grin.

Akira smiled, remembering how she’d screamed when she first met the poor, injured cub. How she’d healed him and reunited him with his mother.

Verasia’s mother ran back to the house to grab blankets. When she returned, she helped Akira and Verasia set up the stall while the men talked.

“Sir, do you know why your daughter would have made a deal with a water spirit?” Wolfric asked Verasia’s father.

The older man shook his head and answered, “she has never done anything like this before.”

When the women came out of the stall, the men looked at Verasia. Akira looked at Verasia’s burning cheeks, then at the men, and shook her head.

“If you six have questions for the girl, just ask.” Akira included the girl’s father in the conversation.

Verasia’s father stepped toward his daughter and placed his hands on her shoulders. “Daughter. Why did you make such a horrible deal with such a terrible creature?”

Verasia frowned, “because I wanted to prove myself to you and mama. Kinderlynn has everything you wanted us to have. She’s married and so talented; she can sing like a songbird….”

“Verasia, do you think we are not proud of you?” the older woman asked her daughter.

Verasia frowned. “How could you be? Kinderlynn is everything a water nymph could ask for in a daughter, and I… I can’t even change….”

Verasia’s mother pulled her into a hug. “We have always been proud of you, my sweet girl. You are just a late bloomer.”

Verasia’s father placed his hand on his daughter’s back. “Like your mother.”

Verasia pulled out of her mother’s arms and stared at her parents. “Mama, you were a late bloomer?”

Her mother smiled shyly, “yes. Your father helped me come into my gifts. You will, too—you’re only fifteen.”

“But….” Verasia wiped the tears from her eyes. “I can’t play an instrument or sing like you and Kinderlynn. How will I attract a mate?”

“You have other skills,” her mother said. “That is why your father and I have not been worried. You are talented, just in other ways.”

“You… you really think so?”

Her parents grinned.

“Do you think I would have asked for your work to be displayed at the next art carnival if I thought they were not good enough?” her father asked.

Verasia laughed as she threw herself into her father’s arms. “I love you, Papa.”

The older man kissed the top of his daughter’s head. “And I love you, my sweet child.”

The couple led their daughter to the large doors of the barn, their arms around her shoulders. Verasia stopped, ducked under her parents’ arms, and ran back to Akira. Akira chuckled when the girl launched herself into her arms.

“Thank you so much,” she whispered.

“You are most welcome,” Akira whispered back.

Akira smiled as the girl kissed her cheek, then turned and ran back to her parents.

“Now it’s time for your punishment,” Wolfric whispered into Akira’s ear.

Akira felt her cheeks heat and turned to her warriors.

“Not at the same time,” she said, looking at each of them. “I’m not ready to find my chosen mate.” Akira knew she would be shown her chosen mate when she took all five warriors at once.

They grinned and nodded.

Akira squealed when Wolfric lifted her into his arms. Malique took her hand and followed them into the stall. Once the gate was closed, they were naked and all over each other.

~⚔~

“That’s a crazy story,” Julianne chuckled as she sat on the couch in the cabin’s living room, listening to Stella and Fin tell her and Levi the story of Akira, the girl, and the Fossegrimen.

“How did Akira survive it?” Leviasen asked. “From stories I have heard, people have gone mad after the Fossegrimen is finished with them.”

Stella nodded and said, “her fingers weren’t injured when we found her. I think she continued to heal them, hoping her warriors would find her soon. But we beat them to it.” The troll grinned.

Julianne nodded. “Sounds like our Akira.”

“They should have been home hours ago. Where do you think they are?” Levi asked.

“Probably stayed the night at the girl’s hometown,” Stella said with a shrug. “Akira looked tired.”

Jules nodded, “sounds about right.”

“Where do you think we’ll be going next?” Fin asked. “I mean—now that she has all five of her warriors. Is our adventure over now?”

Julianne chuckled, “our adventure will never be over. Not as long as we stick with our friends.”

Leviasen nodded, “Jules is right. We still have plenty of adventures ahead of us. Unless you two are ready to go home.”

Stella and Fin looked at each other and laughed.

Stella looked at the fairies and grinned. “We’re sticking with Akira. She’s our princess.”

Jules smiled. “We’re not going anywhere either.”

“Do you think she knows who her chosen mate is yet?” Stella asked.

Julianne shrugged. “We won’t know until they return. But if I know Akira, she won’t want to know yet. She will hold it off for as long as she can.”

“Right,” Fin agreed.

“What do you think we’ll come across next?” Stella asked.

Levi laughed. “Haven’t we come across enough danger?”

Stella shrugged, “there’s so much more in this world and the next.”

“Well, I feel our next adventure is visiting the Shagahoe Tribe to let the chief know his prince is spoken for,” Jules said.

The two trolls and two fairies looked at each other, then broke into side-splitting laughter.

~⚔~

“Are you sore?” Wolfric whispered into Akira’s ear.

Akira smiled up at her Wolfie. “A little,” she admitted.

Wolfric grinned and kissed her forehead.

Akira sighed; she didn’t get much sleep last night. Her warriors had punished her good. First, Wolfric and Malique took her into the stall, and, well, you know what those two did to her… Then Darius and Zelious walked in as Wolfric and Malique finished.

They didn’t take her at the same time, but they made sure she felt them—and boy, did she feel them. When they finished, Niall came in and lifted her off the blanket. He pinned her to the wall, and she cried out when he entered her. Man, she will never forget last night. Of course, before Niall was finished, Wolfric walked in, ready for his second round.

“What are we doing once we get back to the cabin?” Akira asked her warriors.

“Gathering our belongings, then heading to Niall’s tribe,” Wolfric said.

Niall shook his head. “My parents are going to be surprised.”

“Will they not like me?” Akira asked.

Niall stopped and pulled Akira from Wolfric. She slammed into his chest, and he kissed her, then leaned his forehead against hers. “No, little one. They’re going to love you. But none of us thought we had a Havent. Never thought it was possible.”

Akira smiled. “Are they going to be happy—or angry that you’re leaving?”

Niall chuckled. “I guess we’ll find out when we tell them.”
