Chapter Twenty-Eight: Another Battle

“Seriously!” Malique’s holler of annoyance didn’t affect the other three’s movement as they continued to fuck.

Darius dropped their luggage and equipment and shifted into his human form. “They couldn’t wait two seconds, could they?” he complained.

Akira turned her head to her other warriors and crooked her index finger, telling them to get their asses over to them.

Malique dropped the bags he was carrying and rushed to her. He kissed her, making her moan.

Wolfric and Zelious continued to pump into her as her other two warriors surrounded them and started kissing her all over.

Akira and Julianne chuckled.

Malique shrugged. “Wolfric always gets a second go.”

Jules looked at Akira. “Always?” she asked.

Akira grinned and looked up at her wolf. “Always.”

Julianne and Leviasen looked at each other. There was something in that look that Akira didn’t understand.

“Let’s get a bit more sleep before we search for a way out of this cave system.” Malique motioned for their gear to be set up for sleeping.

Once everyone was cuddled together, the trolls and pets returned to the cave.

“Thank the Gods,” Stella grumbled.

“I thought you two were going to find somewhere else to sleep,” Akira said, watching the female troll.

Stella glared at her brother. “It’s hard to sleep when someone keeps asking if I think they’re done yet.”

Akira giggled.

“Get some sleep. We’ll be on the go again soon,” Darius told the trolls.

Stella unrolled her blanket near Akira and her warriors.

Akira smiled and closed her eyes. She giggled when something furry pressed against her cheek. She looked up and pulled Nibbles to lie between her and Malique, who was lying in front of her. Wolfric pressed closer to her from behind as he looked over her shoulder at Nibbles.

“Go to sleep,” Akira whispered.

She wasn’t sure if she was saying it to Nibbles or her warriors. But to her delight, all five of them relaxed. She sighed and closed her eyes. She was soon fast asleep.

Akira grunted as she opened her eyes. She looked into her Wolfie’s beautiful eyes and smiled.

“Feeling corny this morning?” she asked.

He smirked and leaned over her, kissing her lips, “time to get up, sunshine.”

Akira shook her head. “If it wasn’t for you sneaking all those DVDs through my bedroom window, I wouldn’t know all this horrible stuff swarming my mind.”

Wolfric chuckled, “your mother supplied the TV and DVD player. I just went along with her.”

“My father thought she was making me watch DVDs on how to become a better daughter.”

Wolfric scowled, “I know.”

“He figured if I couldn’t become a better person—because I had no soul—I may as well become a better daughter.”

Three growls came from the other side of the cave. Akira turned and looked at her warriors. They were watching her and Wolfric.

“Sorry,” she whispered, knowing they could hear her.

“Never apologize for your father,” Malique sneered.

Akira nodded. She knows how much her warriors and friends hate her father for what he did to her. It took her father almost raping her—for her mother and Wolfric to get her away from the bastard.

Akira looked at Wolfric. “Why did it take him touching me to get you and Mama to get me out of that house?”

Everyone in the cave stopped what they were doing and stared at her.

“He touched her?” Zelious growled.

“Oops, we forgot to tell fish-boy that part,” Darius boastfully said, looking up at the cave’s ceiling.

Zelious moved over to Akira and knelt beside her. He took her hand into his and kissed her knuckles. “Did he do anything other than touch you?”

Akira shook her head.

“She was a virgin,” Wolfric mumbled.

Akira looked at Wolfric, her cheeks burning.

Zelious looked at Wolfric. “So, you were really her first.”

Wolfric nodded.

Zelious let out a deep sigh and kissed Akira’s hand again. “Then she is still pure.”

“What the fuck are you talking about?!” Malique shouted. “Even if Wolfric wasn’t her first, that doesn’t mean we turn our backs on her.”

“No, no. Of course not.” Zelious looked at Malique. “I didn’t mean it that way, Brother. If Apollo had taken her purity, it would affect her powers. Not her connection to us. The purer a Havent is when her first warrior takes her for the first time, the purer her magic is. Especially a healer.”

Akira sighed and leaned into her Merman Warrior. “It’s a good thing my mom stopped him then.”

Zelious nodded and looked at Wolfric. “Did she believe Akira was your Havent?”

Wolfric nodded, “other than Akira and my brothers, she was the only one who believed me.”

Zelious nodded. “Other than the motherly instinct to protect her daughter, she probably also knew her daughter needed to stay pure for her warriors.”

“What if I hadn’t met Wolfric when I was two? And met a guy and had sex with him because I didn’t know I was a Havent?” Akira asked.

Zelious sighed, “it wouldn’t have affected your bond with us—when you finally found us. Your powers wouldn’t be as strong as they are now, but if it was consented, it would be a bit purer than if it was forced on you. Something like that can taint your mind, blood, soul, and magic.”

Akira blinked up at her merman, “mom stopped him, and he beat her for it while he….”

“You don’t have to finish that thought,” Zelious said, wiping a tear from her cheek. “I get the picture.”

“Once Apollo was asleep, Temple called me. My brothers and I took them away from there,” Wolfric said.

Zelious nodded, “you told me about that part, but no one told me he touched her.”

Akira sighed and wiped her eyes. “Can we please talk about something different now?”

Zelious helped her to her feet. “Of course, little one.”

“How about we talk about which way we go from here?” Stella asked.

“Good idea,” Darius agreed, looking down at the sack in his hands.

“How about we talk about disguising Akira and Jules,” Levi suggested.

Everyone turned to the fairy prince.

“Disguising them?” Darius asked.

Levi nodded. “The cyclopes pointed something out to us last night.”

“What? That this realm is full of bigots?” Akira asked, scowling.

“Bigots and egotistical jerk-wads,” Jules grumbled.

“Well, that, and less chance of them being kidnapped if we disguise them as boys,” Levi said.

Wolfric chuckled, “good idea.”

Everyone agreed, and they started going through the clothes until they had Akira and Julianne dressed as boys. The clothes were big, but that was good. If the clothes were tight, how would they hide the girls’ breasts?

“This is actually comfortable,” Akira said, flapping her oversized shirt as she followed her warriors through the cave system.

Wolfric chuckled and said, “you’re used to wearing loose clothes.”

Akira stuck her tongue out at her Wolfie. “I’m not used to hiding that I’m female,” she said, pointing to the large hat on her head. Her hair was tucked under it, hiding her long blond tresses.

Wolfric smirked. “Would you rather we cut your hair?”

Akira scowled at him. “Would you want me to cut off your dick?”

Wolfric’s eyes bulged out of his face. The others chuckled.

Akira wrapped her arms around Wolfric’s waist. “Don’t worry, Wolfie. I will want lots and lots of kids if you’re my chosen mate.”

Wolfric sighed and wrapped his arms around her as they continued down the cave tunnel.

Malique and the other warriors looked at each other. They all knew that if anyone had the bigger chance of being her chosen mate, it was Wolfric.

“I see light!” Stella shouted.

Akira sighed with relief. She was tired of being in the caves—she was lucky she wasn’t claustrophobic.

“I’ll check it out; make sure nothing is waiting for us,” Leviasen said, then snapped into his fairy form.

“Be careful,” Julianne called out to him.

Pen flew over to Levi. Levi patted his head.

“Thanks, buddy, but I need to do this without being seen.”

The dragonfly made a sad noise, then moved to Julianne to fly beside her.

Levi sighed and headed to the end of the tunnel.

Akira looked at her friend and smiled. “He’ll be fine.”

Jules nodded and patted the dragonfly.

The group waited for Levi’s all-clear. When the fairy prince finally returned to them, everyone waited with bated breath. They were anxious to get out of there but didn’t want to lose one of them again—like they’d lost Wolfric.

“All clear!” Levi announced as he popped back into his larger form.

Jules wrapped her arms around him and kissed his cheek.

Wolfric took Akira’s hand. “Let’s get going then.”

The group made their way to the exit and sucked in the fresh air as they exited into daylight.

“Can you feel him?” Malique asked Akira.

Akira looked at her vampire, then turned to the trees and closed her eyes. She breathed in the fresh air and felt a pull.

“He’s close,” she said, opening her eyes.

“Good.” Wolfric took her hand, and they headed into the woods.

“I don’t know what’s worse. Caves or trees,” Darius grouched.

Akira chuckled as she wrapped her arms around her Pegasus. “Both,” she jested, looking up at him.

Darius chuckled and kissed the top of her head.

“You two separate; we’re about to exit the tree line,” Wolfric ordered.

Darius kissed Akira’s forehead before he let her go.

Akira moved to walk beside Jules. The fairy looked adorable in her boy’s clothes.

They stepped out of the woods and came smack dab in the middle of a battle.

“Why does this keep happening to us?” Akira hissed.

“Humans?” Julianne asked, shocked to see the humans battling in the middle of a giant field.

“No wonder the residents here hate humans,” Akira growled.

“They’re trying to take over this realm,” Wolfric fumed.

“How do you know?” Levi asked.

Wolfric looked at the fairy prince. “Because I can hear them plotting.” Wolfric pointed to a group of men off to the side.

“I hope my mate isn’t one of them,” Akira grumbled.

“Me too,” Julianne whispered.

“Humans!” someone from the opposite side of the humans shouted, pointing at Akira’s group.

“Fucking hell,” Wolfric growled when a spear was thrown at them.

The group moved out of the way fast enough—the spear hit the ground.

“Wow,” Akira whispered, staring at the man coming at them, a spear above his head.

“Akira, look out!” Jules shouted.

Akira couldn’t move from her place; she was too enthralled with her attacker.

Wolfric moved to protect Akira, but another came from nowhere and attacked him.

“Don’t kill them!” Zelious shouted.

Wolfric grunted as he dodged the spear. He knew he couldn’t kill them.

What if one of them was Akira’s fifth warrior?
