Chapter Fifteen: Seed It Up

Akira stared at Nibbles as the Al-Mi’Raj sat on the ground, licking his paws.

“Did he seriously just eat the Abominable Snowman?” Darius asked, staring at the rabbit dumbfounded.

“Nibbles,” Akira whispered.

The rabbit looked up at Akira, then went back to licking his paws.

“Okay, everyone inside before another snow beast comes over for dinner. I doubt Nibbles can fit another in his stomach.” Wolfric ushered everyone toward the front of the cabin.

“Nibbles, come,” Akira said, patting her leg.

The Al-Mi’Raj looked up at his mistress, then stood and hopped over to her. Akira bent down and picked the rabbit up. She looked at the blood dripping from his horn and shook her head.

“Did you really have to eat him?” she asked as she turned and followed the others around the building.

Nibbles purred and cuddled against her. Akira chuckled as she avoided his horn.

Akira stepped onto the porch and jumped—startled—when Nibbles let out a loud burp. She looked down at the horned rabbit, her eyes open wide. The others turned to her and chuckled.

“Did he seriously just burp?” Jules asked, staring at the rabbit.

Akira chuckled, “he did.”

“Let’s get inside and clean him up,” Wolfric said as he helped Akira into the cabin.

Wolfric shook his head as he watched his Psychi with the Al-Mi’Raj. He should have known the creature would protect Akira by eating the damn snow beast. He chuckled as he led her and the rabbit to the sink. He’d tested it earlier when he’d scouted the cabin for any occupants. The water worked—and surprisingly, it had hot water.

He stood back and watched Akira clean her pet. She cooed at him and praised his bravery. Then she wrinkled her nose and told him not to burp in her face again.

Wolfric laughed. He was glad his Havent had a pet who would have her back. Too bad he wasn’t big enough to take out the sea dragon before it killed her. Wolfric frowned. He needed to forget that part of his life. She’s alive and safe now. No need to think about the past. She beat death three times now, and he won’t allow a fourth.

“All clean,” Akira said, holding the rabbit up to her face so she could rub her nose against his.

Wolfric smiled. Every second of every day, he loved this woman more and more.

“Wolfric.”

Wolfric turned to his longtime friend. “What’s up, Malique?”

“We need to have Akira sense out her warrior. If he isn’t here, we need to move on. This realm is short on water. Snow won’t keep Zelious for long.”

Wolfric nodded and moved over to their Havent. “Akira, love.”

Akira turned to him with a smile. “Wolfie.”

“I need you to feel out your warrior. If he isn’t here, we need to move on. Zelious won’t last long with just snow to keep him liquified.”

Akira frowned. She had a feeling they wouldn’t be staying long in this place. It’s so beautiful. She’d hoped to have more time here. Oh well, her warriors are more important.

She nodded, “okay. I’ll need to go outside, though.”

Wolfric nodded and led her to the door. He opened it for her and let her out first, coming out close behind her.

“Take your time,” he whispered in her ear.

Akira shivered at the feel of his breath on her neck. It has been days since she made love to her warriors. None of them wanted to touch her—in case her fever returned. They didn’t want to be the cause of her death. But if she didn’t get something from them soon, she would be the one killing them.

Akira sighed and closed her eyes. She pushed her bond out and felt through the realm for her warrior—she felt nothing and frowned.

Wolfric wrapped his arms around her and placed his chin on her head. “We’ll have the fairies search for the next portal in the morning.”

The following day, Jules and Levi left to find the next portal, and the trolls went hunting. Which left Akira alone with her warriors. She stripped her clothes and stepped into the shower. Akira looked past Darius at her wolf and vampire. “Please,” she mouthed to them.

Wolfric grunted. Akira seemed past the fever scare, and maybe he should be too. He watched Zelious take Akira into his arms and kiss her.

“Damn it.” Wolfric walked over to their Psychi and pulled her from her merman. “I always get the first go,” he growled.

Akira grinned up at her Wolfie mischievously, “take me then.”

Akira squealed as Wolfric lifted her and tossed her onto the bed.

“Don’t tempt me, little one. I haven’t had you in too long; I may do things I’ll regret.”

Akira used her index finger and curled it three times, telling him to bring it on.

Wolfric growled and attacked her. Akira shrieked and laughed as her wolf devoured her body with his lips and tongue. When he entered her, she felt her body vibrate. It has been too long; they can’t let it go this long again. She almost died inside without her warriors’ touch.

“Malique,” Darius said, looking at the vampire. Malique looked at him, and Darius grinned. “Double team?”

Malique grinned as he moved over to the bags on the other side of the room. He pulled out the lube and joined Darius and Akira on the bed.

She looked at him, then at Malique and the lube, and nodded.

“The portal should be up that hill,” Levi said, pointing toward the path ahead of them.

“I hope her warrior is there,” Darius grumbled. “This searching is giving me a migraine.”

Akira pulled away from Jules and moved over to her Pegasus. She jumped onto his back, making him spin in a circle. She chuckled as she placed her hands on his head and rubbed his temples. He groaned and closed his eyes.

“Keep your eyes open,” she whispered into his ear. “I’ll only do this if you don’t walk us into a tree.”

Darius chuckled as he opened his eyes and continued walking.

It didn’t take them long to find the green portal. By the time they got to it, Zelious had rejoined them.

“For you,” Zelious said, holding his closed hand out to Akira.

Akira jumped off Darius’s back and touched her merman’s hand. “What is it?” she asked.

Zelious turned his hand palm up and opened his fist.

Akira stared at the large seed in his hand.

“I found it while in the water. I instantly knew what it was and knew you would love to take something from this realm with you.”

Akira looked up into his eyes and then back down at the seed; she took it from his hand and studied it. He pulled her against his chest and kissed her.

“It’s a seedling of the trees with pink leaves.”

“Thank you.”

“Anything for my Psychi,” he said, holding her tight.

“Let’s keep it safe,” Wolfric said as he took the seed from her hand and opened her bag.

Akira watched her Wolfie place her seed into the inside pocket of her bag and then zip it back up. She’ll be able to take this realm home with her. And maybe raise their children under the tree… Akira looked at Wolfric.
