Chapter 16 Her Revelation, His Anger

With a blank expression, King Timodore motioned to Queen Asalea to follow him.

He looked at Sulie also and told her to search for Toremo, then made his long strides going to their bedroom, as requested by Queen Asalea.

Before following her husband, Queen Asalea gave Sulie a dismal look. "I never thought that a woman as decent looking as you is actually a harlot in disguise," she said before turning her back. Sulie just shrugged off her shoulders as if she did not care and smiled triumphantly. "Your crown will be mine, Queen Lea," she murmured as she wickedly stared at Queen Asalea's retreating form. Sulie thought Queen Asalea never heard her murmur, but with the strong sense of hearing of the latter, she clearly heard Sulie's words. "Your wish Sulie, I won't allow you, over my dead body. You cannot touch my husband again." In between gritted teeth, Queen Asalea whispered, with the intention of letting Sulie heard it also. She let her soft voice traveled through the air going to Sulie.

As Sulie's ears were filled by Queen Asalea's voice, she was stunned for a moment but her selfish desires and desperateness to get King Timodore made her uttered words again challenging Queen Asalea. "That's what you think Queen Asalea. I am Sulie, you can never threaten me."

"Then let's see, Sulie." Queen Asalea retorted with fierceness in her tone.

Inside their room, both King Timodore and Queen Asalea were silent for a while. It was Queen Asalea who managed to find her voice after minutes of silence.

"Why? Am I not enough yet? Did I not satisfy you? Please tell me." Queen Asalea's voice was almost shaking.

King Timodore looked at Queen Asalea with resentment in his eyes, "You lied and fooled me Princess Asalea of Knostican Kingdom!"

Queen Asalea has been mortified when she heard how she was called by King Timodore.

"How, how did you know about that?" stammering Queen Asalea looked horribly into the sharp eyes of King Timodore that has been cast on her without any flicker.

"You think, you can fool me that long? Do you think I am stupid enough not to know? Not King Timodore, not me, Princess Asalea!" His voice was like a sharp knife cutting Princess Asalea's heart into pieces. With shaking knees, Queen Asalea sat at the edge of their bed, trying to control the tears that are about to fall. She tried to be brave. "Are you condemning me right away, without giving me the chance first to be heard?"

With narrowed eyes, King Timodore looked at Queen Asalea, "What explanation will you give then that will convince me that you did not lie to me?"

"I won't deny that I did lie to you. I did that because if I will tell you right away who I am, you will immediately know my purpose why I was here that time and eager to marry the King of Glodeous. Outright, I know the King will reject me."

"So tell me, what was your purpose in marrying me, Princess Asalea?"

"I won't lie this time, I want to regain the power I used to have and once I have it, I know it will be easy for me to get my revenge against the Ecleteon Werewolves, but later..."

"Hah! So, you married me to use me afterward for your revenge right?" King Timodore cut Queen Asalea's explanation.

Queen Asalea shot King Timodore with her teary eyes, "Yes, but I ... later on, it was not anymore my purpose that kept me from staying with you."

With more narrowed eyes King Timodore once again looked at Asalea without blinking even for one second, "So what's your reason now for staying with me aside from your real plan of using me to revenge against Ecleteons?"

"Didn't you feel my heart King Timodore? I have loved you since the time that I saw you standing in front during our wedding." Embarrassed for such revelation, Queen Asalea lowered down her head, still clinging on to that remaining little strength she has to hold on to and not to cry.

King Tmodore fell silent upon hearing Queen Asalea's confession. He did feel that his wife seemed to care for him already, the way she looked at him, the way she responded to him during their lovemaking, and most of all the way she caressed him when she thought he was already sleeping.

Yet, the thought that she made a fool out of him, made King Timodore's teeth grit with anger again.

"You still fooled me and most of all, you judged me too right away. What if at the onset, you told me the truth? And I being a man, who always fantasizes to be the hero of my Queen, would even offer to help you take your revenge against the Ecleteon Werewolves? Did you not even think about that Princess Asalea?"

Queen Asalea shook her head, "I'm sorry, truly I am." With so many regrets in her heart, Queen Asalea was not able to control it. Her tears fell down like rivulets.

In a way, King Timodore has been affected seeing his wife cries like that and he cannot stand seeing her more like that. Trying to keep his stiffness, however, he said harshly, "Don't let me see how weak you are Princess Asalea, tears will not change what I felt right now. Using your tears would even make me think that you are not indeed fitted to be my Queen."

Thereafter, without even excusing himself, King Timodore left Queen Asalea in their bedroom.

Still sobbing, Queen Asalea gloomily glanced at the door where King Timodore passed through, just a second ago. She was overwhelmed with regrets and sadness. She felt her heart ripped into pieces, thinking that their former sweet and happy moments would now be sour and his prior warm embraces would just be mere cold stares.

What will happen to them the next day is something that Queen Asalea never wanted to think of right now. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she curled her body on their bed.
