Chapter 14 The New Woman

Realizing that he is as if fantasizing about his wife, King Timodore shook his head, stood up, and walked away from their bed where Queen Asalea was sleeping peacefully. He went to one of their guest rooms and there he rested his fatigued body and mind.

The next day when Queen Asalea woke up; the first thing that she noticed was the empty space beside her. The place is still neat; obviously, her husband did not sleep beside her the whole time. Her heart grew weary. She can tell now that something is wrong. She then took a bath and worn an orange decent dress, which is perfectly fitted to her voluptuous body. She put a blush on, a little make-up and lipstick. Immediately, after checking that she looks more alluring already, Queen Asalea went to the dining area and there she saw Toremo, Dreckos, and King Timodore with a woman on his left side, whose face is not familiar with her.

"Good morning everyone." Joyfully she greeted everybody, walked fast, gave a quick kiss to King Timodore's cheek, and sat on the vacant chair on his right side.

Toremo and Dreckos awkwardly looked at Queen Asalea. Nobody tried to say a single word until the unfamiliar woman glance at Asalea, forced a smile and said, "Hello Queen Asalea, I am Sulie."

Queen Asalea looked at the woman and while smiling, took her offered hand for a handshake. "Nice meeting you Sulie."

Dreckos suddenly cleared his throat and asked, "Queen Asalea, what breakfast would you like? I will instruct our Palace Chef to cook it for you."

"It's okay Dreckos, I will just have coffee for now. I have no appetite to eat anything." She glanced at Dreckos and gave him a forced smile.

Dreckos nodded and told the palace maid to bring coffee for the Queen.

King Timodore has been silent. He just sipped his coffee from time to time. He did not even dare to glance at Queen Asalea.

Queen Asalea could feel the coldness of King Timodore towards her. She kept her silence too and sipped her coffee as the maid put it down in front of her.

After a while, King Timodore stood up. "Excuse me, everyone, I just need to check on something in my office. Dreckos follow me and Toremo please bring Sulie to one of our guest rooms."

Queen Asalea lowered her head. Her husband did not even bother to mention her name nor glanced at her before leaving.

Glancing gloomily at Queen Asalea, Dreckos nodded to her and then followed King Timodore.

Queen Asalea was left at the dining table when Toremo and Sulie excused themselves also.

Trying to control her tears, Queen Asalea stood up and made herself invisible when she saw that no one was around. In her invisible form, Queen Asalea followed Toremo and Sulie. She is quite curious as to whom Sulie is and why is she staying in one of the palace guest rooms.

Walking nearby, she heard Sulie giggled, "Gosh Toremo, I could not wait to make him mine. The King is absolutely a man that would make me go insane."

Toremo just laughed and patted her shoulder.

Queen Asalea's eyes narrowed. "What a harlot, I was just around, the wife of the King but this woman has been fantasizing over my husband?" she angrily murmured. Without thinking a single thought, she made herself visible and walked fast beside Toremo.

Sulie and Toremo have been surprised.

"Hey Queen Asalea, we thought you were still at the dining area." Toremo with shock on his face asked. "Nope, I was at your back all along and I heard Sulie's words." Queen Asalea said while looking at Sulie icily.

Sulie sweetly smiled at her, "Apology, Queen Asalea, but indeed the King is gorgeous and I cannot deny that."

"Yah I know, but as far as I know, it is not decent for a woman to fantasize over a married man especially if his wife is just around." Queen Asalea retorted.

Toremo cleared his throat, "Hey, hey, calm down women. Queen Asalea, Sulie was just joking. Apologies if her words offended you."

Still, with icy eyes, Queen Asalea poked a glance at Sulie. "I would not mind breaking a woman's neck who will try to seduce my husband." She left in a flash after excusing herself.

Sulie's lips smiled wickedly, "You never knew me Queen Asalea. I never backed down from any challenge," she sneered.

Toremo heard Sulie's whisper. He just scratched his head and led her to her room.

In her room, Queen Asalea gave up from trying to be strong. She poured her heart out. She cried in total despair. She could not take it if her husband would be touching another woman. Her instinct is strongly telling her that Sulie came here with a wicked purpose and that is to seduce her husband. "Oh my, not now, please not now that my husband seems to be too cold and distant with me," she whispered in between her sobs.

While discussing something with Dreckos, King Timodore felt a tiny pain, as if his heart has been pinched. He abruptly stopped talking.

"Why my King? Something wrong?" Dreckos has been surprised when King Timodore suddenly stopped talking.

"Nothing Dreckos, let us continue."

Queen Asalea inside her room swiftly got up from the bed, made herself invisible, and run outside of the Glodeous Palace, without looking back. She runs so fast.

She will visit the Kingdom of Knostica, their fallen Kingdom, their abandoned palace; she wanted to feel the presence of her parents' souls.

As she reached the wrecked Knostican Palace, Queen Asalea entered it without any fear in her heart. She could feel the love of her parents in this place. Feeling that no one is around, she transformed into her visible self.

As she walked inside the palace further, she noticed how their palace has been worn out by time. Its previous glamorous interior decorations are now gone and have been replaced with cobwebs. She walked further; her steps are heading in the direction of the King's and Queen's throne. As she reached the place, she saw the two lonely, dirty and old thrones of her parents. Without thinking, she sat on her father's throne and closed her eyes, wanting to feel her father's presence.

She was in that position when she heard footsteps nearby. A voice like thunder echoed inside the palace when someone shouted, "Who the hell are you?!"

Queen Asalea slowly opened her eyes while thinking about how she is going to fight whoever intruded her momentum.
